The endings feel like they imply one another. Whenever a single character makes it to the campfire, they're confused and disoriented. Then the trial starts. In the endings where multiple survive, Linda and Chris are the ones who are already sitting by the fire, worn down, knowing whtats about to happen, and seemingly hopeless. As if their endings already happened, some time ago, and the "new" ending is simply the point in time where another of them has made their way to the campfire.
In the wiki it says that the entity erases the memory of the survivors after every match (it makes sense, since knowing you are going to die a horrible of death must be crappy [in the lore they rarely escape]). So why the original 4 look so drained?
I love the theory where some survivors can resist the mind wipe over time. I don't like how the Entity prevents new bonds in the realm and I for one like the idea that over time you'll be able to overpower it, at least somewhat.
I thought, when you’re brought into the trial, the entity controls what it wants you to know/ not know. New memories formed in a trial are whipped when you are sacrificed and a little bit of you is feasted on until your will to live is no more. Those who escape the trial to the camp fire retain their memories (which explains prestige cosmetics). The entity wants a balance of people escaping because when they are sacrificed, I assume they are very well seasoned with emotions. One thing I’m not certain on is if someone who is sacrificed but has survived trials keeps their memories or if they get a hard reset when sacrificed. I assume they keep their memories to a degree (like maybe not the trial they were sacrificed in?). Because teachable perks wouldn’t make sense then if you had to relearn everything. But who knows.
There is a glitch when you sneak back into the steel mill through the storm drain. If you bunch up with some of the npc’s in the sewer tunnel, you will get shot out of the map and into the void
It’s kinda saddening to see Dwight, Meg, Jake, and even Claudette just silently accept the hopeless situation… and the Casting of Frank Stone survivors being unaware of how hopeless the situation is.
Bro each ending having the same dialogue is insane to me. Atleast have some variation. I get the whole thing about "There's no hope death isn't an escape." But at the same time once the cats out of the bag that none of the choices matter since everyone is going to be sent to the entities relm anyway, I don't think many peeps are gonna want to pay $40 for that.
yeah fr. Fucking gives you the illusion of choice. Your choices in this game don’t matter at all. You’ll always get the same ending. It sucks too. Because the story to this game got super interesting but only really when the game got to the end, then I wanted to know more, but that’s how they get ya. Rip.
tbh most telltales style games are simply like this, there's variations of how you play by far but it all ultimately leads to the same final outcome eitherway by the end

This whole game captures the bitter nihilism in the Entity's Realm. Doesn't matter how hard you try, how many times you die, how many times you escape cause you'll always be trapped in an eternal samsara of suffering and pain. You can't escape and neither can the killers. You will simply serve your purpose until you get tossed in the void.
I love the detail of how depending on who survived the amount of OG survivors around the campfire changes from the main four slowly going down to none. Disappearance Order from everyone dying (OG survivors) to everyone surviving (No OG Survivors. (Everyone > Jake > Dwight > Meg > Claudette > None)
I’m still stuck on the Bonnie dying part cause like they didn’t explain that well enough and same with the Sam looking barely older than Linda they just kinda brushed it off other than hinting to numerous timelines but they should’ve delved into it more. other than that though the game was amazing
The Bonnie part dying made partial sense. With the different tapes the Linda found, those were all from different timelines, so they all have things that slightly differ. So in some, or at least one, of the timelines, it’s was Bonnie who died (in place of Jaime, I’m assuming, since they never said why Madi never met her uncle). But it made no sense as to why Augustine showed the tape of Bonnie dying, if that wasn’t a part of the tapes that Augustine stole from Linda and Madi.
@Kibeeeeee for me there is confusion with the ending if both Jaime and Bonnie die - you see them cut up the tapes in the scenes with Maddie, but how did Maddie get her tape when neither Bonnie nor Jaime are shown in these scenes? I get Bonnie dies in another timeline, but in Maddies timeline she must be alive. Just adding another potential timeline there feels very confusing. I thought it was to explain the original timeline.
The idea that survivors can talk in the campfire but choose not to because of the trauma and despair they endure every second is haunting. They've completely given up on fighting back
the ending basically confirmed him as the next killer especially the very end with him getting his own relic alongside a lot of the other bhvr original killers
The endings being essentially all the same makes the player's choices feel kinda pointless. The story was good, the game was very well made, and the endings are to be expected. But I would want the decisions the player makes to have impact especially when the main menu tells you your decisions will have impact. Should have been a movie instead.
I don't look at is the same as other Supermassive games where the survivors get to escape and live. This is supposed to be the DBD universe, where "death is not an escape". If you look at it as just the backstory of Frank Stone and his survivor group, how they were basically 4v1 in the mansion and across time, as a method to bring his essence back to life and brought to the DBD trials. It's not about the choices of who lives and dies, because in the end they just get thrust back into another trial. Which I believe is why they give us the OG survivors cameos. The point is it's supposed to feel hopeless, like those who died were the lucky ones. Just my thoughts. It wasn't meant to have survivors or happy endings, just preparing them for the real trials, and preparing Frank for his big DBD debut. While also explaining how the DBD multiverse, entity, and entity's cult work.
I feel like there should be a way to save the reality from the entity. That feels like a mistake. Like being able to go back and stopping Linda and Mafison going to the Manor
If you know game "Identity 5", it's an mobile clone of dbd. Then you probably know about killer there named "Photographer ". His power related to photography, in short, he can make an exact copy of the match, but in a kind of "photo world", and he can move between these worlds, breaking generators, and hanging copies of survivors so that those in the real world receive damage. I think such a power would suit this killer very much, since he is directly connected to the film and the camera.
@@neko6804Unlikely that the camera will tie in with him. That was only his weakness when he lacked a corporeal form. Also, sounds a lot like Freddy with his whole dream world.
We 100% need a Casting of Frack Stone chapter. FS as the killer obviously, and Madi, Sam, Linda, and Stan as the survivors, and Murder Mill as our new map. Maybe the manor as well as a second new map. Boni, Chris, Teen Linda, Jaime, and Sheriff Sam Green as alternate skins
@@godsofwars16.29 it's an original chapter with 2 survivors... the ending is literally the campfire in dbd. The killer is already called The Champion Its guaranteed they're coming in December
definitely feels like that, even in the short time since Madi and Sam took to be taken, Linda and Chris have done enough trials to begin to understand how trapped they are
And yet the only thing I was dissatisfied with was the same ending in almost all cases, except for the secret scenes. And there is also too little of the most important thing here - the killer! I hoped that everything, absolutely EVERYTHING, would be built around Frank Stone, but there is too little of him! Even from the trailers, you could make a choice that Frank is not a bad person, and it kind of started to become clear in the game, but... Nothing! He did not try to somehow realize everything, nothing! And also, again, there are very few endings! Literally who survived, that's the ending. I wish they would stop the essence, stop Frank, go back in time and stop filming the movie! In short, the game is not bad, but it's not what I expected, like many. It feels a little raw. It's not worth paying too much for this, in my opinion.
Seeing these endings leaves me more and more convinced of the "Chris = Augustine" theory - the way she says that Augustine "seemed familiar" just feels poignant.
Hey DStrike, I found a bug. survivors can see Clown aura if he uses Cigar box add-on. previously you needed to be invigorated to see him, but now you can always see him if he uses a yellow bottle on himself.
Thank you, glad I wasn't the only one hearing that, cause it sounds so much like Madison was saying " I don't want to go home" not " I want to go home"
I think that the "Chris Secret Escape Ending" is the true ending, because it sets things up for one of the Chris' to become "Augustine Leiber". Yes, I know that the reason that Chris says Augustine was familiar was because an older version of Augustine was running the curio shop in the town where they get a new camera, but the idea of one Chris deciding to investigate the phenomenon, becoming obsessed, discovering how to use the portals, being corrupted by The Entity, and going back in time to set everything into motion, just seems like a cool idea. That, of course, creates a plot hole as Linda doesn't recognize Augustine as Christine.
It would be cool to unlock those survivors if they make it to the campfire in DBD and Frank Stone. Linked behaviour accounts could make it happen? So was that Augustine that was sacrificed to the enity now in the trial?
I got the Sam secret ending first try. I killed everyone else. 😅 Let the neverending of pain, suffering and fear begin. And after Frank Stone goes through that, he can join the rest of the killers in the basement for a pity party. Hope Neantity brings the beer.
this confirm that Chris is Augustine time version to make it happened. the black veil has that machine (in the mansion) that they can travel to places and manipulate events and stuff
Imagine if the og survivers would talk *characters begging for help and etc.* Dwight: There's no escape from this nightmare. Meg: You can't do anything. You're stuck in here and being used as a puppet by that thing. Cloudette: Only you can do is: do generetors, avoid killers, heal eachother and escape the trial. Nea: but after you escape the nightmare begins all over again. Dwight: You NEED to escape the trial because if you don't you will be DEAD BY DAYLIGHT
I tried to save Chris as Jaime, didnt give the pendant to Stan, then didnt miss a skillcheck trying to save him so i got the secret Sam ending. So 3 mistakes and everybody else died.
Basically same thing for me but linda died when Sam saved her from frank in the end but I decided to turn back and save him bk I grabbed his gun before, turn out she didn't use the gun at all and died, I send cris back trough the machine and Sam survived but didn't went to the portal, just the campfire,
So it looks like some people don't know why or are missing the reason why the original survivors are husks. The Entity traps victims until they're sapped of all emotion. That includes pain, fear, etc. The Entity feeds off it until they aren't useful. And from what we see they're still just here.
Augustine is travelling the different timelines with the sarcophagus to get all versions of murder mill to summon Frank stone. In the main timeline of the story just after Sam kills Frank stone the old lady they get the camera from is also Augustine leiber
No, it’s because she recognises Augustine as the old woman from the curiosity shop - Augustine uses the Horologium to travel through time and different universes, that’s why there’s so much imagery in Gerant Manor of multiple versions of her and why Linda says her whole family look identical - she has no family, all of those portraits are her as she has existed for centuries
I think proximity to the fire enduces a trance like state, a numbness. The Entity is slowly sapping their emotions and warping time, so who knows how long they've actually been there waiting. The silence from the survivors may be what a fully drained person looks like. Or maybe they've just seen this too many times. Either way, giving some of the O.G's lines would've been cool... but I guess fill in the gaps yourself because technically, WE (Dbd players) are the survivors. So, all answers are correct. IMO Anyways, cool video, decent endings.
Wanted to hear the original survivors explain to them what is going on 😅 I hope they make another game continuing from where they left also Chris is a little bit creepy
at the beginning of chapter 3 in the storage shed 1980, has ANYONE figured out how to get the 2 other paths after defying sam??? I just went back and allowed chris to go through the portal so i could hopefully get this, but turns out NOPE THAT AINT IT. somebody help.
I found it!! for me, i had sam with a healthy eye, but a messed up shoulder in franks encounter, by failing the pipe quick time event. this way, when sam enters the storage shed theyre filming in, after choosing the defy option, sam gets a grunt of pain in his shoulder and tries to bribe the gang. and thats how u do it :)
I hope they continue the origin stories of all the killers like this. That would be dope especially to keep it another Anthology series for Supermassive Games just like the Dark Pictures Anthology 🤞🏾💕 I'm sure others would love it too especially while we wait in between for the next Dark Pictures game to come out 😬🤞🏾🤞🏾💕
im confused why is Chris freaking out when she's alone but she's sort of an expert when she survives alongside anyone else, Linda is an expert only if Madi survives and freaks out otherwise, also what happened to the 4 people from the 1980 timeline, seems like they were spared from the entity
These endings all proved to me that the ending of this story is unresolved and therefore bad. Just because it ties into another media doesn't mean the story shouldn't have some resolution that speaks to all the set-up that happened prior. SMH
It does tho: DBD is all about nihilism, no one, at least in their own, can bare the power or stand up to the omniversal god that is The Entity, we saw Augustine try and fail after centuries of trying to appease it. It’s only through the trials and through the survivors’ shared knowledge that they can one day hope to escape it.
I honestly would’ve done all this myself in the cutting room if I didn’t have to watch those damn unskippable credits every single time like wtf behavior

In the Sam and Chris ending, Chris acts as if shes been through a couple of trials arleady.
the first time i finished this game i sent Chris back to the 80's. Sam got eaten up by frank stone and Linda & Madison survived.
Sad we didnt get just like ONE voice line from the OG 4 survivors. That would have made it for me as someone who started DBD from the very start.
That was the thing i was waiting for like
In the wiki it says that the entity erases the memory of the survivors after every match (it makes sense, since knowing you are going to die a horrible of death must be crappy [in the lore they rarely escape]). So why the original 4 look so drained?
doesnt the entity take a bit from them everytime too eventually causing everyone to be drained and turned into a husk eventually?
@@jaegerwhatifs4679 we have that in a few survivors now, Namely Vittorio out of our canon characters but also Alan if inclding licensed ones.
@@Yoishking101 nah, no matter the outcome the survivors would have their memories wiped.
There is a glitch when you sneak back into the steel mill through the storm drain. If you bunch up with some of the npc’s in the sewer tunnel, you will get shot out of the map and into the void

@@ggdiamonz5029 Thats wild, I wouldn't pay money for that myself tbh -_-

This whole game captures the bitter nihilism in the Entity's Realm. Doesn't matter how hard you try, how many times you die, how many times you escape cause you'll always be trapped in an eternal samsara of suffering and pain. You can't escape and neither can the killers. You will simply serve your purpose until you get tossed in the void.
I really wanna get all these ending on my own but sitting though all that un-skippable dialog is such a drag
That’s a waste of time wtf
You want to get like twenty identical endings? Why lmao

The 2nd Christ appearing in her own film is so mind blowing
I love the detail of how depending on who survived the amount of OG survivors around the campfire changes from the main four slowly going down to none.
Disappearance Order from everyone dying (OG survivors) to everyone surviving (No OG Survivors.
(Everyone > Jake > Dwight > Meg > Claudette > None)
I’m still stuck on the Bonnie dying part cause like they didn’t explain that well enough and same with the Sam looking barely older than Linda they just kinda brushed it off other than hinting to numerous timelines but they should’ve delved into it more. other than that though the game was amazing
I was thinking the samething.
Sam isn't from the same timeline as Linda. He is literally younger than the one Linda knew.
@@JenIsHungry Yeah I know that but they shouldve explored the different timelines
The idea that survivors can talk in the campfire but choose not to because of the trauma and despair they endure every second is haunting. They've completely given up on fighting back
We definitely need this as a DBD chapter now

The endings being essentially all the same makes the player's choices feel kinda pointless. The story was good, the game was very well made, and the endings are to be expected. But I would want the decisions the player makes to have impact especially when the main menu tells you your decisions will have impact. Should have been a movie instead.
Yeah, the repetitiveness was kinda lame
Yeah shits whack
If any of them arrive at the campfire alone, they become that one player using pre game chat lmao
I feel like there should be a way to save the reality from the entity. That feels like a mistake. Like being able to go back and stopping Linda and Mafison going to the Manor
That is rather… disappointing.
I mean, having a dozen versions of the same ass ending, with only minor differences?
1:43 u can hear the dbd melody
Isnt it dying light 1 hunter melody?

If you know game "Identity 5", it's an mobile clone of dbd. Then you probably know about killer there named "Photographer ". His power related to photography, in short, he can make an exact copy of the match, but in a kind of "photo world", and he can move between these worlds, breaking generators, and hanging copies of survivors so that those in the real world receive damage.
I think such a power would suit this killer very much, since he is directly connected to the film and the camera.
@@neko6804Unlikely that the camera will tie in with him. That was only his weakness when he lacked a corporeal form.

The first ending I like to call the killer ending since it puts you into the perspective of frank stone.
definitely feels like that, even in the short time since Madi and Sam took to be taken, Linda and Chris have done enough trials to begin to understand how trapped they are
And yet the only thing I was dissatisfied with was the same ending in almost all cases, except for the secret scenes.
This might be the craziest cross-over I've ever seen. The Casting of Frank Stone has been one of my major wants in DBD for a while now.
Seeing these endings leaves me more and more convinced of the "Chris = Augustine" theory - the way she says that Augustine "seemed familiar" just feels poignant.
It's because Augustine was the shopkeeper at the curiosities shop who sold Chris the camera.
Hey DStrike, I found a bug. survivors can see Clown aura if he uses Cigar box add-on. previously you needed to be invigorated to see him, but now you can always see him if he uses a yellow bottle on himself.
The travesty that is having to have everyone dead for a mere 2 second look at Jake is heart breaking
23:30 Did she just say" I DON'T want to go home" ?

Every ending is the same, awesome! 🙄
So pretty much all endings are the same. What a shame
So its cannon that the survivors cam see who the killer is they just dont care since theyve been through it so many times
Best video of all the endings I looked for like 5 solid minutes and this is the best, no bs just the endings
I got the Sam secret ending first try. I killed everyone else. 😅 Let the neverending of pain, suffering and fear begin. And after Frank Stone goes through that, he can join the rest of the killers in the basement for a pity party. Hope Neantity brings the beer.

So it looks like some people don't know why or are missing the reason why the original survivors are husks. The Entity traps victims until they're sapped of all emotion. That includes pain, fear, etc. The Entity feeds off it until they aren't useful. And from what we see they're still just here.
Who are the 3 people sitting already in front of the campfire ?
Dwight (3 People dead), Meg (2 People dead) and Claudette (1 Person dead) (Jake also if nobody is alive) these are characters from Dead By Daylight
Chris acted creepy in the ending all of sudden, and she also mentioned Augustine looked familiar.
So, Augustine = older Chris?
No
No the old lady from the shop
Augustine is travelling the different timelines with the sarcophagus to get all versions of murder mill to summon Frank stone. In the main timeline of the story just after Sam kills Frank stone the old lady they get the camera from is also Augustine leiber
No, it’s because she recognises Augustine as the old woman from the curiosity shop - Augustine uses the Horologium to travel through time and different universes, that’s why there’s so much imagery in Gerant Manor of multiple versions of her and why Linda says her whole family look identical - she has no family, all of those portraits are her as she has existed for centuries
Does anyone knows what happens if you choose the drug store instead of the curiosity shop? I have yet to see someone choose the drug store first
I think proximity to the fire enduces a trance like state, a numbness. IMO
Anyways, cool video, decent endings.
Wanted to hear the original survivors explain to them what is going on 😅 I hope they make another game continuing from where they left also Chris is a little bit creepy

im confused why is Chris freaking out when she's alone but she's sort of an expert when she survives alongside anyone else, Linda is an expert only if Madi survives and freaks out otherwise, also what happened to the 4 people from the 1980 timeline, seems like they were spared from the entity
God I love this game, it was made for the lore obsessive
These endings all proved to me that the ending of this story is unresolved and therefore bad. Just because it ties into another media doesn't mean the story shouldn't have some resolution that speaks to all the set-up that happened prior. SMH
It does tho: DBD is all about nihilism, no one, at least in their own, can bare the power or stand up to the omniversal god that is The Entity, we saw Augustine try and fail after centuries of trying to appease it. It’s only through the trials and through the survivors’ shared knowledge that they can one day hope to escape it.
