Climbing Olympic National Park: Avalanche Canyon and Mt. Constance.

Minus the high altitude, Washington's Olympic Mountains have just about everything to offer the adventurer. This is a 4 day/3 night trip to Olympic National Park's Avalanche Canyon over Memorial Day weekend 2023. Our intentions were to climb both Inner and Outer Constance with a base camp in the upper basin of Avalanche Canyon. Enjoy.

Thanks for presenting this climb is more detail and with more narration that most such videos. You brought back memories. If you think going up that Lake Constance trail in the daytime it tough, try going down it at night. When I and a friend climbed Mt. Constance, we had to return down that trail in the dark and after our only flashlight died. We could only stumble along as best we could keeping the sound of the creek on our left.

On our approach, we made stop before it got too dark to avoid a situation just like that. There is a lot that comes in the package of climbing an Olympic Peak. I’m heading up end of July with 2 friends. Will be my first go at it. But I love climbing in the snow also. I think you convinced me to go next may as well 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

Good luck to your party. I hope to return in a few Springs and take another go at Inner Constance. The snow filling in the chutes provides for some great climbing and adds to the scenery.
