I have just bought the RS3. I use pf and sometimes want to manually move the camera down or up, but it always moves back to the forward position. I managed this on other gimbals but not sure what I need to do for the RS3, any suggestions?
@@AlexJCheung I’ve gotten the mini nato side handles. They are nice. I love that grip. I’m now waiting on the sling handle so that I can have a back grip for briefcase mode. So far I’m loving the new set up.
The mini side handles have NATO clamps built into them, and they clamp right onto the NATO rail of the SmallRig Sling Handle and the Small Rig wireless transmitter module. Let me know if that makes sense!
For the Sling Arm Handle, if you're not doing any low angle shots, then it would not benefit you much. It might actually get in the way of you shooting stuff that's in front of you because of how far back the handle protrudes. I like the low angle shots for the stuff I shoot, so I keep it on there. But if I'm only doing orbital/parallax shots, then I'd only have the two side handles on there all the time. Let me know if that makes sense!
@@AlexJCheung Thanks. I have the DJI RS3 Mini and never did a shoot with it yet. I'm just in the research/learning phase. I think I'm only going to do orbital shots and the shots where you follow a person as they're walking. I don't think I have any side handles that came with it.
Do you get nervous that the mount on the bottom of the gimbal battery is just a 1/4 rather than a 3/8 thread? I’m looking at getting an RS3 but wanted to find a safe solution to attach to my monopod in the same way you do.
Tbh I've never really been bothered that it's a 1/4". I've had many gimbals from Zhiyun and now DJI that only have a 1/4" and it hasn't given me any issues at all in terms of securing a monopod to the bottom 😊
Yup! They're very sturdy, doesn't feel like it'll break or come loose. The only thing would be that the handles themselves are smaller, so if you have bigger hands, then it might not be the most comfortable to grip
okay thanks! last one , i do not have any accessories that you do on your nato , i just wanna know how far is it to the screen if it is just the mini hand grip installed directly to the rs3, coz i have big hands :(
@@louierussel9678 Ahh got it. If you don't have any accessories and you're just attaching the handles to the gimbal itself, then it'll be a lot closer to the screen than what you see with my setup. The distance will just be that connecting part on the handle. Let me know if that helps!
I just got this thing and set it up on a rig for shooting car to car. I'm having a major issue, though; the connection between the gimbal and my phone keeps disconnecting (I use the DJI Ronin app to connect a Playstation controller for controlling the gimbal's movement). Anyone know of a way to get a solid connection? Would a Raveneye help? Can I somehow wire it? Thanks in advance!
You would definitely need a boom arm on a C-stand in order to safely rig the gimbal, some sort of heavy duty 1/4" adapter for the junior pin on the boom arm, and a safety clip for the gimbal/camera. I've never done it before so be sure to do a bunch of research on this before trying it 😅
Hi Alex! I ordered the long plate you linked in the other video (c70 and rs3 pro) but I don’t know to to attach the new plate to the gimbal, it seems as if it doesn’t fit.
That Zhiyun pronunciation slapped hard. Thanks for the awesome video
Haha thanks, great way to practice my Mandarin 😂
Great video Alex. I am ordering the TransMount NOW! 😂 This is exactly what I needed.
Niceee! Glad this helped! :D

Make sure it’s in the correct mode. PF, FPV or PTF.
Hey with the mini nato are u able ur reach the joystick or shutter button with ur thumb?
For me yes, I'm still able to reach it with both thumbs. It just takes some getting used to how far you need to reach, but it's definitely doable
I love this setup and will model my RS3 Pro wedding setup to this. I like the narrower grip with the mini nato side handles.
Nice! Let me know how you like it after using it!

do you have a link for the nato clamp that you used in order to use the mini side handles?
The mini side handles have NATO clamps built into them, and they clamp right onto the NATO rail of the SmallRig Sling Handle and the Small Rig wireless transmitter module. Let me know if that makes sense!
oh ok thank you. but do you need the transmitter that why or did you mounted the transmitter so you have a wider grip?
Does this handle have any advantages for shots that are not low? What if I am doing an orbital shot directly in front of me?

Does the wireless controller work with the standard RS3?
Hmmm on the SmallRig website it doesn't specifically say it's compatible with the RS3, so I'm not too sure

does the side mini nato handle can support the rs3 with a73? is it sturdy?? :) thanks

Awesome video where did you get the actual tripod for the RS3
The one I'm using is the Zhiyun Transmount Monopod but I'm pretty sure it's discontinued now 😞
Genial video, ignoraba la existencia de esos accesorios. Una duda, qué monopod usas?
Zhiyun Transmount Monopod but they don't sell it anymore. However, I can recommend this one as well by Coman: amzn.to/3tINg8G

It would have been nice to know what was the monopod though. How is that not an accessory?
It's been discontinued so I didn't bother putting it in. But the one that I have is the Zhiyun Transmount Monopod
Hi Alex, did you find a way to trigger the record mode via the Gimbal without freezing the camera?
Hey Matthew, the record button hasn't given me any issues with the C70 before!
Hi Alex how to mount RS 3 pro for a top angle or flatlay product videography?

@@AlexJCheung Sure, Thank you. I am getting a customized rig done. Will update once I receive it.

Hmmm that's werod, could it be that you're sliding it in at an angle? And you're using the RS3 Pro as well?
Ultimate guide... Ultimate commercial for smallrig.
Yeah I noticed that too about half way in! Came here for the DJI, sat through the small rig.
sweet setup - j the video i was looking for in my search for a simple but effective gimbal setup :)
do you just monitor thru the camera's back LCD screen?
Yeah, I usually do but I might end up getting a lightweight monitor in the future since the LCD screen is so small and not bright
What is the name of the tripod u use with the gimbel ?
The monopod is the Zhiyun Transmount Monopod I'm pretty sure
Thanks fornthis
You're welcome!
