Absolutely love the explanation of the gamble functions!! Appreciate you sir as I am new to this world. I have a (probably dumb) question. When I am using the gimble my camera keeps cutting off and going into rest mode. How do I fix this problem. My camera is a Sony Alpha 7RIII...please help. Thanks in advance.
Thanks man! No question is a dumb question. I haven’t used that specific camera so I can’t really tell you what’s going on. I’ve never had any of my cameras go to sleep on the gimbal. Weird. So the camera doesn’t do that when it’s not on the gimbal?
I spent much of my career doing industrials. I've now left that, have set up my own studio and am creating independent projects. My last was an award winning animation. As with someone else who commented, I too have am having probs with the dial set to change my aperture but it doesn't work, I feel it's something to do with the camera ( EOS R) not allowing the gimbal to change these settings ??? Also, if I hold the trigger down, it doesn't go into lock mode at all...Any suggestions ? I have read DJI's manual, watched their videos and I find the lack of explanation/detail in all of their official material extremely frustrating.

Very nicely explained. Just got the DJI Ronin RS3 Pro to use when shooting intros to my videos and in hotel reviews to add stability to the shots. Is a handful at the beginning. Best of luck with the channel.

But the DJI Ronin Rs3 Pro is heavy , meaning less clothes to take in my travels due to it's weight and the battery due to regulations i have to carry in my hand luggage.Well that is the price to pay for having a travel channel. I use my Ronin S 3 a lot now in my shoots and it’s been pretty helpful . All you got to do is go out there , find a subject and shoot by practicing. Even if it’s a tree . Make something out from the shoot .

Hey! I apologize, but can't answer that at the moment because I sold the RS3 Pro and waiting on the RS4 Pro to show up. If it seems like a bug, get on the latest firmware. Otherwise it could be bad design.
Not a dumb question. I’m using NP-F batteries. They’ve been perfect. I get Watson batteries, and chargers. And just bring around seven to set. My field recorder uses the same batteries, as does my external monitor. So it’s simple.
Hi, looks like you're going 12V-out on the battery to the 12V-in on the camera. I was thinking of powering a BMCC6k the same way. What cord do you have? I can't find one. Thanks!!
Thank you so much! I have a Question: i use the dial function for pan. When I turn the wheel I notice the gimbal twitching or jerking in some positions. It's not the engines. It probably comes from the wheel, as it occurs both when panning, rolling and tilting. Have you ever noticed that when you turn the wheel slightly?
@@writedirect After the firmware update it is unchanged. I thought it was only when operating with the wheel, but it is also when operating with the joystick. The whole gimbal jerks. When the axis is rotated through 360 degrees, there are 8 points at which the gimbal twitches, which can of course also be seen in the recording. I'm sending it back and hoping the next person doesn't have the problem.
Hey! I don't know if you can actually see it on the LCD of the gimbal itself. I know you can see it on a phone with the Ronin app. You have to use the Raven Eye image transmitter that comes with the RS3 Pro. You hook that to the HDMI out on your camera. Hook the camera to the gimbal and the image transmitter to the gimbal. I should probably do a class on this too.
Does anyone know how to switch between the focus/zoom function for the front dial? ive connected my sony via the cable and it only pulls focus but i have no idea how to change it to the zoom function?

Hello, I have a question: is it normal that the two upper arms can not be moved completely through and block at certain point (with the motors off of course)? During the self-test in the menu, the RS3 Pro keeps producing loud thumps and shows error 1005 at the end. Do you have any idea what the reason is? Thank you and greetings from Germany.
Greetings from the US! At first unpacking, the arm will be in a place that it does that. If you add your camera and balance it shouldn’t be in a place that it’s blocking.
@@uecker66 are the arms blocking it or your rig? I run into certain rigs that will hinder the gimbal, so I have to reconfigure to keep everything clear. If you check my other video about how to balance a Pocket rig on the Ronin, that might help. If the cam isn't blocking and the gimbal is just locking internally I'd reach out to DJI.
I just got this thing and set it up on a rig for shooting car to car. I'm having a major issue, though; the connection between the gimbal and my phone keeps disconnecting (I use the DJI Ronin app to connect a Playstation controller for controlling the gimbal's movement). Anyone know of a way to get a solid connection? Would a Raveneye help? Can I somehow wire it? Thanks in advance!
Raveneye might help...it's supposed to have a 200m unobstructed distance. I'd need to test that for sure. Bluetooth distance is way less than that. If I have time to rig up and test I'll get back to you on that.
The status icon for me stays on a moon icon. Not sure how to fix it. I tried turning it off, turning it back on (sound no longer beeps as normal). When I hit calibrate, it shows unable to. I asked DJI and they said that because the camera isn’t connected to the gimbal…it automatically goes into sleep mode. Any idea?

That's interesting...haven't run into that or noticed it at least. If you do a gimbal auto check does everything check out okay? Not calibration, but the auto check in the system settings.
@@writedirect i've done the calibration, auto check all of it, but everything's good, then i did the restore all the setting, but same result. i got this "issue" right after updating the firmware, couple months ago.. do you have the same situation?
@@wiezxxy no I don't. But I'm also on the RS4 now. I would contact DJI from their site. They are very fast in responding to stuff. I've had to have something fixed before.
Hello. My RS3 Pro does not fold until the end when I try it to do it. Gets stocked before finishing the movement and has a little angle before the las position of folding. Have this happened to you? Thank you in advance,
The only time I’ve had any restriction of movement is if I had gear positioned in a way that blocked it. If your camera is completely off, does it fall out correctly? Is there something stopping it?
@@writedirect I thought the same and no. I had a 105 lens that did after I wrote you asking for help and it did but the lens I had on the gimbal was a laowa 12 mm, not heavy and later a nikon 24-70. It never comes to align. Stops about 20-25 degrees before landing in 0. Never makes it. Not a deal breaker but not happy. Thank you for your answer!
@@intillanes It should work even with a heavy lens. I'd update the firmware and then if the problem persists open up a case with DJI. I actually had to send my RS3 Pro in for an issue after purchase. They responded quickly and got it fixed.

can't seem to use the bluetooth function to control the iso, aperture or shutter via the dial... only possible with the cable provided. any solution?

Can you zoom your camera lens while using a gimbal?
If you zoom the lens, it throws the balance off. That’s the challenge.

Raveneye might help...it's supposed to have a 200m unobstructed distance. I'd need to test that for sure. Bluetooth distance is way less than that. If I have time to rig up and test I'll get back to you on that.

The status icon for me stays on a moon icon. Not sure how to fix it. I tried turning it off, turning it back on (sound no longer beeps as normal). When I hit calibrate, it shows unable to. I asked DJI and they said that because the camera isn’t connected to the gimbal…it automatically goes into sleep mode. Any idea?

On the gimbal menu try SETTINGS > RESTORE PARAMETERS. You might be able to do it from the mobile app as well.

That's interesting...haven't run into that or noticed it at least. If you do a gimbal auto check does everything check out okay? Not calibration, but the auto check in the system settings.
@@writedirect i've done the calibration, auto check all of it, but everything's good, then i did the restore all the setting, but same result.
i got this "issue" right after updating the firmware, couple months ago..

@@wiezxxy no I don't. But I'm also on the RS4 now. I would contact DJI from their site. They are very fast in responding to stuff. I've had to have something fixed before.

Hello. My RS3 Pro does not fold until the end when I try it to do it. Gets stocked before finishing the movement and has a little angle before the las position of folding. Have this happened to you? Thank you in advance,
The only time I’ve had any restriction of movement is if I had gear positioned in a way that blocked it. If your camera is completely off, does it fall out correctly? Is there something stopping it?
@@writedirect I thought the same and no. I had a 105 lens that did after I wrote you asking for help and it did but the lens I had on the gimbal was a laowa 12 mm, not heavy and later a nikon 24-70. It never comes to align. Stops about 20-25 degrees before landing in 0. Never makes it. Not a deal breaker but not happy. Thank you for your answer!
@@intillanes It should work even with a heavy lens. I'd update the firmware and then if the problem persists open up a case with DJI. I actually had to send my RS3 Pro in for an issue after purchase. They responded quickly and got it fixed.
