I liked how this story started out with her as just a girl when the Covenant attack, she becomes a Spartan 3, and comes full circle with her returning to her homeworld and finding her parents. The beginning part that shows how horrific the war was for normal people was one of my favorite parts. Sadly, as far as I’m aware a lot of Halo media doesn’t really delve much into how horrible it was for civilians (in addition to the threat of extermination the UNSC became more totalitarian as the war went on. Stuff like nationalizing industry to bluster the war effort, restricting travel to prevent the Covenant from capturing human ships that have important navigational data, there were food rations, and various other things. It would definitely really suck to live under, but it beats extinction). I also liked the brief flashback that tied her into Ghosts of Onyx (recently listed to that and the other Eric Nylund books. Too bad 343 never brought him back to write more stories in Halo. It’s pretty crazy just how much of the lore has been shaped by him. It’s also too bad that Reach the game trampled all over the expanded universe at the time). Part of me wishes that she would’ve died on her birth planet after completing her mission to show how Spartan 3s were expendable, but the fact she chose to keep living for her dad also works well. If you do anything else with the character I hope she’s used for an anthology where the stories are connected, while simultaneously being self contained and don’t require the viewer to have watched all the previous parts. I’m assuming next we see her (if that happens) she’ll have cybornetic replacements for her limbs like Kat did. The part where the Needlers stuck into buildings and were gradually breaking them apart makes me wish for a Gears of War style Halo with destructible cover. The Reach Trooper mod is probably the closest we’ll ever get to this because 343 isn’t interested in spinoffs (we know from experience-343 devs that numerous games were pitched and shot down by 343’s leadership and Microsoft execs. One of these was VERY similar to HellDivers 2. I hope that Microsoft are kicking themselves right now knowing they missed out on a hit since they’ve been squandering Halo. They also haven’t handled Gears of War very well either. I’d LOVE for the Marcus Fenix Collection to be real. That would basically print money and rebuke interest in the brand. Sony should also make remastered collections/enhanced ports of their “Halo Killers” and launch them on PS5/pc to see if there’s enough demand for new entries. Killzone and Resistance both look super interesting). That mod is a lot of fun and you should check it out if you haven’t. I normally play on Heroic, but I had to bump it down to Normal for a few sections since it is BRUTAL at times. Too bad the modder can’t give the player the ability to climb objects or lean around cover like the ai can. There’s also a few balancing tweaks I’d like to see, but I won’t bore you with that rabbit hole. One of my favorite things about the Spartan 3 Program is that it shows just how desperate the UNSC got. They took what they learned from the Spartan 2s and applied that to train armies of child soldiers who were sent on suicide missions. They were spending lives to delay the inevitable. It also raises a bunch of interesting moral conundrums. On one hand it really helped to slow the Covenant’s ruthless onslaught. On the other they were sending kids whose bodies and minds were not fully developed to their deaths. The kids wanted revenge against the Covenant and ONI provided them a way, but at the same time they couldn’t fully understand what they were getting themselves into. It did a lot of good, but at a massive cost. In a way it makes me think of what they did in World War Z (the phenomenal book, not the trash fire movie. Definitely, read it if you get the chance) where they’d have safe zones where they’d put the majority of the population, while simultaneously creating decoys that would act as bait to keep the zombies away from the people they were trying to preserve. If they could they’d resupply the decoy safe zones, but it was pretty much expected that they’d be overwhelmed eventually. It and other methods saved the species, but saying it was unethical would be the understatement of the century.
You should do a what if Oni authorised the full 300 spartan II’s to be trained and also if they allowed the second company of 300 Spartan II’s to be made ( all one video )

You mean logistically. Or a What If story? Cause I think it honestly they couldn’t care less. It’s not like they believed humanity was strong enough to reach them. They underestimated humanity at every step of the war. And what COULD they do? They were already trying to annihilate every planet 🌎
