dude this has been driving me crazy since I bought one of these second hand. I googled this issue and looked on forums and this video is the only place that actually describes how to do this. Super simple, but I just never noticed the lever lifts up.
Once again, frustrating problems are thwarted by the power of TH-cam and the undeniable force of a fellow human who cared enough to make a video...the miraculous forces combined to form a intense beam of knowledge that successfully blasted my ignorance of the spring loaded leverage thingies, thus helping my gimbal lock properly and avoiding certain world destruction. Thank you.
THANK YOU! I had asked on forums and gotten no answer, mine is so loose that it makes everything unbalanced within a short time of using it. Such an easy fix!
Maaan you’ve just safed my life, I bought used RS3 Pro and I had the same issue, I was thinking that something is wrong with it. I tried this wrong way with the screw, but the solution is so simple! Thank you :)
I"ve upgraded to the RS3 Pro, but this info is extremely useful, I remember having the same issue and wasn't really sure what to do back then, so thanks for sharing bro
Daniel, thanks man. I went and bought a hex tool because of course I couldn't find one to fit the screw. I began working to tighten and kept thinking damn I am going to strip this. Then I looked on TH-cam and caught your video and thanks to you was able to tighten it the way you showed vs stripping the heck out of the screw. Thank you! Subbed just by this video alone!
Legend! Had the same issue with the rs3. I had to use some small pliers to hold the bottom screw in place while moving the top clip but it worked! Thanks!!!
game changer! thanks. And for the base plate latch, you have to unscrew the hex screw, and move the lever the same way you did in the video (except it's not spring loaded) and screw it back!
Great video. I had the same problem after my mini 3 fell down and this got loose. The pulling up did not work so I pulled out the small star screw Tightened the mechanism and screw again the screw (with no force- it is not the force of the tightening that makes the clamp tight but the teeth mechanism) It worked perfectly
"What you don't want to do is..." Me: Hiding under the desk... Good thing I felt there is something wrong with playing around with the screwdriver and I decided to check TH-cam. Thank you so much for the quick help man!
Great video! Unfortunatley, mine loosened too much to the point where it popped out! 🙈 Any ideas how to screw it back in? I can't seem to get it to grip with that movement you showed. Appreciate any adivce. Thanks 🙏
@@danielporterAZ THANK YOU SO FAWKIN MUCHHH.. been tryin to fix this damn rs4 the last 2 days with no luck but finally holding down that mechanism with pliers, I only had to rotate the lever 2 times to get it really tight.
I'm trying to do this - but the problem is when I lift it up and turn it counter-clockwise it DOESN'T disengage from the grooves - so that I can't tighten it - any thoughts?
@@foryourconsiderationpod yes, thanks I should have commented further - I used a screwdriver to stop the grooves turning - thanks for the tip all the same
Thats a tough one. I looked at mine and you're right. It doesnt have the loaded spring like the others. I'd reach out to DJI and potentially send it in for repair. CHEERS!
@@danielporterAZ Yes, i was. I bought it new the day before and tested it yesterday, because had a filmday today. Turned out it was indeed broken and got a new one, an hour before my shoot😅
You may need to push down on the inner screw to help it catch the threads again. Just don’t attempt to turn that middle screw. If this fails I’d reach out to dji.

Came here with an rs3 that had the same problem. This got me where I needed to be!! Thanks so much!

Still relevant 2 years later with the Ronin RS4. Thank you!
Mother of god! I was gonna put some gaffers tape to help secure mine after numerous times of coming loose. THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!
Thanks man! For those who are still having issues and this clamp moving with your movements, try to keep it straight up and turn smoothly

@@samirBeorn you need to keep straight to the top and turn smoothly then it will work.

I was tightening the hex and was wondering why wasn’t it going anywhere. Thank you so much!
a BIG thanks Daniel!! I was getting seriously pissed with those loose levers !
Dude! Thank You. I JUST order a Torx set from Amazon! I'm so glad I saw this video before that package came!! Thx!

Daniel thank you so much for the tip!!! For my S3 it was the opposite. It was actually too tight. Now after adjusting it's perfect.
Thanks alot, such simple thing... I ended up using black tape to add some thickness and resistances, now i can remove it finally!

Is there anyway to fix the little locks on the sliders?
Im sure there is. However I’m fortunate enough to have not if had issues with those yet so I couldn’t tell you.
i'm having the same problem
My rs3 mini was having the same issue difference is you have to back the screw out a little it’s not spring loaded
big thanks from Korea!

You may need to use some very small pliers to hold that inner piece stationary while you do the twist action to get the lever back on.
@@danielporterAZ Thanks so much will give that a try today 🤞😀

@samirBeorn I got a mate to help me with the smaller pliers! It took a few goes mind. Thankfully, that worked! 😅

This might be more of people not understanding how the gimbal is made rather than a fix. How about the loose battery handle though? Good video!
I've tried so many time my dji rs 4 gimbal but its didn't work. how can i fix it. Any other way you know?

Unfortunately they don’t operate the same way
Thank you very much Sir for solution

Hi, i have the same issue with the Rsc2. Do you know a solution for this problem? Thanks
I haven’t handled an RSC2 so I couldn’t tell ya ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I have a similar issue but with the one that holds the plate those u cannot bring them up i need help
I’d reach out to dji support and even on Twitter or Reddit. They are surprisingly responsive on those platforms.
This doesn't work for me, when I pull up the clamp, all the way up, and turn it, the underside also moves with it???
That’s odd. Are you pulling it up all the way?
@@danielporterAZ Yes, i was. I bought it new the day before and tested it yesterday, because had a filmday today. Turned out it was indeed broken and got a new one, an hour before my shoot😅
Sadly this does not seem to work for RSC2, pushing down on the spring loaded plate does not expose the grooves and teeth.
I don’t have the RSC2 so I wouldn’t know…¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This solved my problem 👍
Hey!!! Mines came off!! Do you have any solution to this
I’d reach out to dji support…they are also really good about responding through their Reddit page.
