This movie is awesome, I feel like it is an exaggerated view of how the world is today, the monsters represent anxiety, depression, racism, self hate, hate against others ect....and in the end the people who are blind to all of the unseen things that destroy us are the ones that wind up better off.
I heard they actually did film a scene that does show the monster but they chose to not put it in the film, the source I read it from did give a specific description of the monster, which is like a tall green person that has a human baby face.

I actually seen her downtown Austin one day taking boxes out of her car into some restaurant she didn't want to be noticed but I freaked out and said it out loud and everyone surrounded her...I will always regret that I really wanted to get her advice about acting

Plus despite both film's having good casts, the performances in this film are better, Trevante Rhodes especially. He's getting better & better with every film he does. I even loved his performance/character in The Predator, even though the film was a bit disappointing.
