Drivetrain wise I haven’t had any big issues. The only real issue I ever had was a battery draining issue that ended up being the seat control modules. Most of the E55s have had suspension failure by now and have Arnott brand air suspension (lifetime warranty) or Coilovers installed already. Definitely do research before you buy, but it’s no worse than anything else I’ve owned. -Sean
In Germany the GTI drivers have the cliche of being the though chav from the neighbourhood. Vaping, wearing golden chains and driving with fog lights on 24/7. Usually the cliche turns out to be true tho.

Love the e55… have one of my own. Why go for that style air filter versus the factory style cold air? Got an aluminum piping kit from vrp makes more sense to me?
I have an Audi A3 that I have just done wheels and lowered suspension as my "exterior mods" for now, with future plans being performance only. I think the OEM+ look of the GTI is tasteful and exactly how I'd imagine doing it if I owned one.

I had BC Racing Coilovers, exhaust/egr delete, tuned by rocket chip tuning, nitto g2 tires, upgraded Garrett turbo, upgraded intercooler, all new gaskets up top... it was a beast. But some of the issues like the computer bs was ultimately why I got rid of it. Too many little things to break and go wrong. Not to mention the last thing I fixed which was $500 for a steering angle sensor!!!! Wtf!!!
