I would have swapped the valve block, and the inline filter. No need for coding when adding a new one. I have airmatic on my E550, and it gave up at 12 years. Also putting new oil on the line would have helped extend the life of the new compressor, since the old compressor took a lot of it out, plus wear on the old oil.

One thing I would love to see on this channel (prob not your favorite thing to do since you live it) would be a vlog related to your “daily grind” or maybe some behind the scenes content of how you built your brand, how you select vehicles to test drive, the manufacturer press car process, stuff like that. This is something I haven’t seen any other “big” automotive channels ever do. I think it would be really cool. Cheers dude, thanks for the amazing content through the years.
I truly do admire these motors. The amount of performance you get given the tuning capability and relative reliability really is almost unmatched these days. Not to mention the E55 is gorgeous.
Agreed. I was so tempted to start doing pulleys and tunes for easy horsepower but it’s my daily and I have all my other dumb cars that are heavily modded
Hi Jakub, thanks for the nice video. In February 2023 I replaced the rear air bags on my 2013 E550 with a pair of German Miessler (they are 100 km from Stuttgart) for which I paid 388.69 euros - CAD$ 573.21, delivered in 3 days to my door in Canada. The job was difficult to do though - being in Quebec rust and calcium essentially welded the old bags to their sockets, and it took about 8 hours each to take them out. As of March 2024 everything is fine.
I kind of like the suspension in high-mode. Love the sleeper mom-wagon look only to SMOKE 99% of traffic. So cool. No worry of potholes or poodles lol.
I had to replace a M54B30 engine in my family wagon, its been down for 2+weeks and they haven't even begun. I also paid a $2,600 deposit when I dropped off RIDE. Good luck sir!
I paid less than that service for my whole e320 wagon! Thankfully it had air suspension done before I bought it. Jealous of your e55 and super happy its lasted that long for you!
It could be a Land Rover.... 😂 I liked to see more stuff from the auto shop, if possible, on the different diagnostics, troubleshooting. Possibly the jdm wagon your buddy has. On the Mercedes, you have, how you keep the paint so new, festures of that car, etc. And maybe why you decided to revive this channel after so many yrs...
I've never seen someone smile so much when taking in a German luxury vehicle in for repairs. For most of us, I'd liken this experience with attending a funeral.
WABCO is a manufacturer of air brake and air brake components! They manufacture everything from air brake chambers to ABS tone rings, brake valves and associated parts. Used almost universally in commercial vehicles they provide a lot of industries with air brake parts :)
I am a huge DIY guy. For 4,000 dollars Canadian, that is not bad at all. I would rather have the shop do it. Especially with their expertise and diagnostic tool.
My rear is sagging on my e55 for the past year but this just sold me on replacing the air ride suspension to coilovers😵💫 Close to 4k for just the rear is wild, great car tho!
He said he had a few other thing done to make the bill ~4k ..like the diagnosis & alignment etc. When I had my 2006 E500 wagon it was about 1500$ US parts & labor to have the rears air suspension replaced with Arnott. Way cheaper than dealership, who wanted 3k+. That was in 2014, so prices has to be higher now.
Your wagon is dope! Makes me really miss my murdered out W209 CLK500. I loved that car. Did a lot of mods to it and had a blast driving it. Just got too expensive to keep up with.
When you had it up high it looked like a suv then slammed like a “proper estate” as the Brit’s say. If you get a good one they aren’t too bad on repairs. My friend has a cls500 and it hasn’t broken in 4 years
Love that wagon. I would like to see an old school 5cyl Quattro on the channel. My opinion is like rears, everyone has one. Maybe an ice racing day? Little old school Quattro run?
Only thing I say is be careful not to edit it all together so tightly. It ends up being a full video of fast talking every single second and can be harder to listen to without breaks.
You got ripped off my friend. Air Suspension for the rear axle costs 600€ Bilstein Compressor 300€ So 900 Bucks if you dont pay a mechanic to do it. I dont understand those prices in USA/Canada - never pay that much money, especially for a old car like that. Parts get cheaper when cars age to a certain point. And most of the work you couldve done yourself.
Compressor and rear airbags, easy fix. did it my self not long ago paied rughly 6000 ( 600 usd) NOK for the bags and 4000 nok ( 400 usd) ish for the compressor
