Funny when you mentioned cats in shops. In all my years of living in Brooklyn, NY (we call it God's Country), a place well known for its many books stores back in the day, every book shop had a pet cat. This to keep mice away as rodents are notorious for eating the pages.
Taverns such as McSorley's were always known to have pet cats to guards against vermin.

it's still enjoyably funny that when Rizzo left office in 1980 he lived in a $800K mansion which was well beyond the means of the salary of a police commissioner or the mayor"s....what part of town was his place? Hey Captain , when that movie we're film ; I was working at Stelio's Pizzeria; FRONT ST & SUSQUEHANNA AVE. The producer of the film came inside the Pizzeria and ask my EX-BOOS ; Paul Papadapolous [Greek Owner ] if they can film a Portion of the movie ,using the back door garage ;A part that Rocky [Sylvester] & Tommy Gun ; 30 minutes film ,,fight .. it's was so so so cool seeing them in person ,, my co-worker and son Owner Stelianos Papadapolous still work there, ; his brother Toli Papadapolous not sure if he still work there, ; They know me ; By PHIL ; i believe the new Owner now is ANTHONY & ANDRE, ,, That corner was my hang out back in 1986-until- 1990/ good old day ;; used to be or not sure if still across from the Pizzeria ;FINE FARE SUPERMARKET ;;Thank's for sharing this video Bring back old but great memories WOW A++++ Captain,,, shout out to Rick the Puppy, and fam, Stay safe; ;by the way in those years i was living at Fletcher ST & Carol St. by Susquehanna Ave corner ; 🤗
