I did this to my Chevy Duramax but i bought the cans that you hook to a sprayer. I like it a lot don't have to worry about scratching or anything else.
I like the matte look, you did good with the rattle cans. I've got an old 1999 Chevy 1500 3 door cab pick-up I'm about to get ready as a hunting rig. It is white and would stick out like a sore thumb while coyote or hog hunting. I'm probably going to use the Raptor Liner in some sort of green and the matte finish will be great for night hunting.
So i been doing autobody for 30+ years now And for a older truck The raptor liner saves a lot of work of scratches And ugly stuff I am going with the 4 bottle with hardener with a matching tint Your work was perfect Only tip on applying it after the first coat which was too close to each pass is : 2nd coat further back And wider laps above the next pass = Zero lines in the coats ...Other than that she looks good
@@MrBreeze2024 Yep, pretty quick I just cleaned the hood and top then sanded well with 100, washed it again let it dry good then taped it all off and painted took about 2 hours total and looks great 👍
I sprayed the bottom half of my Grand Renault Espace with truckbed liner 2 years ago. I got fed up of it being spattered in tar and tarmac from all the freshly-repaired potholes etc.
I shoulda got the raptor brand when i did my dodge but i cheaped out and got the gallon rustolem brand after about a month it turned brown and looked like crap you definitely made the right choice
Looks pretty nice tbh, esp for a rattle can. What is that applicator thing you had on the can? Is that a Raptor product or is it for spray paint cans? Also, is this Raptor Liner the same as the company we have up here in Canada?
i did the grill and hood of my 94 jeep xj with Rustoleum mat black cause the clear coat was coming off 3 years ago and has lasted plus even has got a little flat in color gonna do the top clear coat starting to come off may do the whole thing later
I think you did a great job! And it looks good! Do you think it would adhere to fiberglass? I have a 20+ year old motorhome with a fiberglass front lower, and the paint is flaking off. I think this would be better and a lot cheaper than repainting.

I bought an ugly red ‘72k20 cause I need to tow my boat and possibly get to my aged parents in a summer or winter storm. Hate the color and am tempted to do this after seeing your vid. Update on how well it holds up???
Nice work ! Im going to do my 2001 Chevy but in white to match it current color. How did the colors blend in ? and streaks showing. Should I can-spray it or airspray it ! Thanks
Oh yea. That would look good. I can’t see any lines in it. If you have an air compressor it would probably be better to air spray it. But the cans turned out good. Just takes a little longer.
@@Steeles Cool after spending a good $4000 on rebuilding suspension, shocks ,ball joints, wheel hub bearing, control arms, etc bushing, tires, windshield and a dent / never been in a wreck. All it needs is a paint job, old paint is flaking off/ w/very little wheel well rust. Im so happy with this 2001 chevy ext cab ,family Truck, its runs like new, 223,000miles doesnt burn oil/22-23mpg. I saved myself some $80,000 = cost of new truck.
Looks good, nice job. Thanks for posting.
Thanks
It turned out way better than I thought it would. It's actually not bad!
lol. Well thanks. It’s holding up good so far

Yea I seen that kit. I may have to try that on something else. Lol.

Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.
Looks good! Been dying to try this on my Tahoe
Do it. Lol. I think if you sand it good it should hold up good.
Did this to my Harley and it worked great. I cleared over the bug splats ,so now I have a unique paint job after ten years!
Oh yea. lol. Custom paint job.
Just an idea, maybe spray some in the bed since it is liner?
Looks like someone already did, it’s peeling off. Lol. I don’t think they sanded it. Have to work on that next.
Lol
🤣
I rebuilt my motorcycle after a wreck and sprayed it with raptor.
Over a year later it's holding up great, and everybody that sees it compliments it.
I bet that does look good.
Looks good Stacey gives me a idea for the rusting out spots on my ford
Oh yea. It should do the trick. Lol.
Don't do it it will work for a while until one day next thing you know you don't have any more metal left under the bed liner
Looks dam good, im going to do my Jeep Cherokee, i may spray it a little farther back, see if it gives even more texture.
Oh yea. Let me know how it turns out. You can get a kit that you can spray with a air compressor.
I did my 89 bronco almost factory color blue and black love it turned out great
I bet that does look good
Fabulous job. ✌
Thanks:)
I did the hood and top of my Tacoma the clear coat was all peeling with the Rustoleum bed liner it works pretty good and tough for sure.
Yea I have used that before. It works too
I have a 2004 taco and I’m getting ready to do the same thing my friend

Thanks. You can get that handle at pretty much any hardware store. I’m not sure. It’s say’s Pennsylvania, US on the can.

I think it would be fine as long as you sanded it good. Probably 180 grit
Dude that looks sweet. Did you tape off your key hole in the door?
I didn’t. I have new handles and locks I have to put on it. Trying to get her fixed up.

Good job 👍 🇺🇸
Thanks

also I cant see paying $5000 to [$21,000
Yea. Those paint jobs can get expensive $$$$$$. Lol
Somebody told me many years ago put cans in warm, hot water makes paint easy to spray
Oh really. I haven’t heard that.
Now you got a buddy you got to keep that wet Edge
I hear ya. Lol
I had a Chevy and the paint was terrible if I still had that truck I might try this.
lol. Oh yea.
especially if you live in the rust belt - whatever stops the rust - spray it on!!
There ya go. Lol.
Richard on What The Rust channel uses it, too.
May have to check that out. Thanks.
I wonder how this would actually work ,spraying the black trim that has faded on my vehicle?
I don’t see how it wouldn’t
the time it took you to tape off the light you could've taken out the 2 screws to remove it faster🤣
lol. I didn’t even think of that. Haha.
@@Steeles lol!!!good stuff though👍
Git-R done!
Oh yea
I sprayed my vw bug with that and converted it into a Ford powerstroke
Dang. Lol
had the lines but they all went away after a could of days to completely dry,
Yea mine went away too
3m products are #1 in quality & price
What 3m product are you talking about?
Thats about as Jethro as can be...
Hey don’t hate on the Beverly Hillbillies now. Lol.
BUT......HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?
Time will tell. I will yal updated on it.
It’s ok
Lol
The spray is misleading. It didn't turn that Chevy into a Raptor...
🤩👍👏👏👏👏👏👏
Oh yea. Lol
Paint from top to bottom next time
I will have to give that a shot. Thanks.
Do not do top to bottom. Have you ever seen any pro paint top to bottom? 😂😂
Should’ve clear coated it with a 2k clear. It’ll hold the shine
@@Lawnfella I thought about that. I kinda like the matte look.
@@Lawnfella Shine????
Why would you do this to a truck, every truck I've ever seen with that spray liner on the body panels is ugly AF
This is what’s in now. You gonna have to get on board. Haha.
No one likes sanding.
Need me a air sander. Lol.
Damb dude! You ruined your paint
Nah. I made it better. Lol
Looks good
Thank ya
