My husband and I have been married for 30 yrs and have four adult children, and have recently became grandparents to twin girls: Elizabeth and Eleanor. I was an EMT and my husband taught at a college back in WI, and we both retired and moved to KY where we are close to our daughter, her husband and sweet grand babies…to which I have the joy and privilege to help take care of during the week when mommy and daddy are working. I think your plants are vinca- similar to impatiens, but vinca love the sun and impatiens the shade. The deck was quite a job! It's so high! But it came out lovely- I really like the new color. Amy! That was a lot of work, but it turned out gorgeous. Decks are a lot of work, and years ago, my husband and I would look out our back patio, and no one was sitting out on their decks, due to it being so darn hot, so we decided to have a 4 season attached patio room built, 20 some years ago. It has served us well, and I am sun sensitive, so it works. But every spring, I throughly clean it, and it takes me all day. There are 12 windows and a doorwall. The cat loves it. Lol. Your house is huge, but beautiful.

He passed away at 66 years old, 8 yrs ago. One of my daughters and her 5 yr old daughter live in my home. I enjoy having my granddaughter here part time, as her time is split among families. Enjoy that deck and time together. It can all change so fast and be blessed. ❤🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 happy 4th!

Hi little girl. I was hoping we would get to see your deck this year. It really turned out good. I just had my deck cleaned and repaired and re-stained. Some boards needed to be replaced. My stain appears to be the same color as yours. Anyway I’m sure you saved a lot of money doing it yourself. Mine was about $5000 but there was some other repairs thrown in there but it was mainly for the deck. I used to bring my cushions in the garage when I knew it was gonna rain but I’ve had them so many years now that I have just started leaving them out. They still look OK. They were Better Homes & Gardens cushions. they have held up good but will need to be replaced at some point. I ordered some product from Amazon that I saw another TH-camr is that brings your iron furniture back to life beautifully. We are leaving tomorrow to go to Dallas to stay at Melissa‘s for about four days. Going to her house is like going to the spa. it’s so extremely hot here in Texas and I was wondering if your candles would melt out on your deck. I’m sure they’d melt here in Texas. I know I don’t need to tell you any information about me after all these years but for others I’m a 76-year-old grandmother with only one grandchild, Rachel who is 25. I have two daughters and two son-in-law‘s. I’m retired after 31 years of work for a large chemical company. your pictures of your kids looks so good. They sure are some good looking children.
