Adding some guitar notes here for anyone that's into that: A lot of his newer stuff uses guitars tuned to open tunings, uses fingerpicking with a lot of open voiced chords, lots lydian sounds. Generally clean sound, bunch of compression, transparent overdrive is nice if you have it, mess with more overdrive on hooks. Record two takes, panned hard to the sides, and then under it you can add extra lil slides and hammer ons to add complexity and develop the beat more.

OTT stands for ‘Over The Top’ compression. In ableton it just compresses each of the 3 frequency bands to a ridiculous degree (both upward and downward compression) which leaves you with no dynamic range whatsoever and basically rebalances the sound evenly spread across the frequency spectrum. use it usually not at 100%, remember that there are no rules though and if it sound good, then it doesn't matter!
