    I appreciate so much your effort in making these videos! Teaching a 51 year old man how to cook good foods at home. Just yesterday I fried some pork chops and maintained the "raining" sound of the frying oil. I also now use Lipton onion soup mix in many of my cooking projects. Thanks!

    Seeing is believing. So many ways to cook things, but seeing it done in your video gives me a sure-fire way to get good results whenever I do a pork butt roast. Now, as to those, mashed potatoes at the end, they look marvelous! I will look through some of your other videos, maybe you did one on how you produce such nice looking mashed potatoes?

    This helped me so much! I added some mustard and some worchestershire sauce to the seasoning. Also I didn't use a rack cause I don't have one but I did do some onions carrots and celery in the pan and fried them up with some oil and deglazed with some beer before putting the roast in the pan and throwing it all in the oven. Hoping I get some nice gravy out of it!

    You hit another home run! This roast with it's accompaniments will have us cheering! I recently made your delicious 7UP cake. It's flavor was lemony sweet, the crumb being tender and melting, the density, light, yet yielding satisfyingly enjoyable morsels from each slice. Of course, I used Sprite as you suggested , the juice of a lemon and a bit of vanilla extract to flavor. What a cake! Thank you for the inspiration and expertise. You have a way of welcoming viewers. I suppose it is part of your camera's expert shots (Melody?), but I feel I am standing at the stove with you. Anyway, I sense that I am a participant at certain times within your videos. Thanks so much for the hospitality you offer as well as the delicious meal ideas you and your team present on a weekly basis. Kindest regards from Kim in NC.

    I browned all 4 sides in the cast iron dutch oven first. Cut up half a onion and half an apple. Put a stick of butter on top held steady with a toothpick. Used dry ranch and cajun blackening seasoning sprinkled on top with a cherry cola honey garlic dry rub. 😋 I'm tired of cooking with French onion soup mix... thanks for sharing the lid off fat side up roasti g technique! 👍 👌🏾

  • @fastmoneyflow
    @fastmoneyflow 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm definitely making this tomorrow. Been looking at a lot of videos and none looked as moist as yours. I decided to add fresh garlic since I didn't have dried minced, and a little more olive oil and I'm going to marinade it over nite, so tomorrow all I have to do is throw it in the oven.

    Thank you Chris, this was in fact a very simple recipie. The technique was great, especially turning the fat size up to self baste the whole roast. I used some other spices that I liked and it came out moist, just amazing! I used a thermometer to ensure I had a 170 degress before I took it out of the oven.

    Thank you I been trying to figure out how to make my roast come out like that and not like pull pork for the longest 300 degree 3 till 4 hours

    • @chriscook4u2
      @chriscook4u2  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Whattheydo2 Yes, but if your meat is shredding you are cooking it to long. That will do it every time and you can’t cover it. Increasing the heat and shortening the cooking time will still make it look like mine just don’t over cook. If you have an thermometer when it registers 160 take it out it’s done or if you eye balling it’s 325 degrees about 2-1/2 hrs. It will slice no shreds. 😋
