The violence and the spreading of hatred that took place before was quite unimaginable for todays people in the western world. The part where she mentions if you don't know the broker well enough, you could be scammed into being sold to a lonely middle aged man in China as a wife is scary. They literally could kill you, torture you with the only positive outcome being married to a man you don't want to be married with and him treating you normally (Which is not much in China). But just the negatives are overwhelming. Imagine being a parent and you pay a broker to get your daughter out for freedom, sacrificing your family line and for her to end up as a sex slave and getting pregnant from a random old man. I know men in China treat their women like actual objects but imagine an actual slave. I can't even imagine the horrors they have to go through

Yeah sometimes people park in their favorite spot or fish near their homes. Some American women have had to endure traffic behind them, being honked at, not getting a window seat on a flight or unbelievably some of them have had to queue or even wait.

Ok, smuggling is profitable, but if people get 0.15 USD how can they afford to buy smuggled goods? I'm confused. Also you tell us you contacted Korean embassy in China. That is not normal. Usual scheme involves broker moving you illegally to Vietnam, Laos or Cambodia where you contact Korean embassy. Why? Cause Korean embassy in China itself is afraid of pissing Chinese and helps NK defectees only in two cases: 1) they are very important people with good connections in party or military elite and thus can be useful for SK intelligence, 2) they are able to pay huge amount of money.
