Oh he is definitely happy. He was at his moms house for a couple of weeks and since it's his main form of transportation he had no choice but to drive it around with a white door and primer down the side since the truck wasn't finished all the way :-)
Even though it's not finished he said he still loved driving it for that duration of time. And I'm sure once it's all one color he'll love it even more :-)
It sure is, I know he'll learn a lot throughout this project. Now he's thinking about picking up another rig from the auction so he can fix it himself and make some money in the process :-)
From all the bodywork videos on youtube I think I learned the most from yours. No over the top shouting, just straight to the point explanations and calm attitude. Thanks for the content and keep up the good work! I hope you get more views...
Hey Peter, appreciate the comment.. I try to make my videos as informative as possible, so folks could learn something instead of just watch a guy fix a car with no explanation as to what it is that he's doing....
Thank you ! This spotter truly is the best tool for car metal work that I've ever used. Don't know how I got by without it all those years... I do have the puller with attachments available for sale now... I'll be making an announcement on them soon
I always look forward to seeing your videos thank you so much for explaining the process of the repairs that’s going to be a good looking truck when you’re finished

really amazing work mate, and really cool to see you get this done and get it done right. great work getting as much of the metal work done and will have to check out that video with the spot weld pull tool.
I used to hate doing metal work because it used to be such a daunting task. But once I built my spotter tool, metalwork became something that I really enjoy doing. When you have the right tools for the job, it just makes the job so much easier and enjoyable to do. I also feel that my quality of work went up due to using that tool..
Thanks Geoffrey... I recently showed the fan "trick" to a friend of mine who is a bodyman and he said: "I can't believe how simple this is and why did I wear a dust mask all these years??" LOL

Nice work on the repairs as usual. Seeing that you only had a week to get the repairs done before the inspection, hopefully that means more videos coming soon. One thing I noticed with your spotter, is that it seems to do less panel damage than commercial units, as yours doesn't seem to leave holes in the panel like I've seen on other channels when they use a spotter. Have you ever watched Arthur Tussik do "lead wiping" which is almost a forgotten art? That sure takes some skill. I bet if you had more time, you could have straightened out that back door! As always, I'm looking forward to your next video and I hope you have more time to get back to the 1948 Chevy, as that's a really interesting project. All the best from Queensland Australia, where we've finally had some good rain to break the long drought we just went through.
Cheers Bruce, we have made it to the inspection and passed it, so the truck is licensed and street legal. However the weather did not cooperate enough to where we could get everything painted before the inspection. Hoping to spray it in the next few days, but I have enough material for another one or two videos before the paint video is posted. As far as the holes left behind on panels after spotter use, I do get those every now and then. Usually those will happen in areas that are a bit more rigid such as cab corners, because it takes more force to lift the metal then it would on a flat panel that has more give... Hope my explanation made sense.. I may end up doing some leading on the 1948 truck, never done it before but it is something that I'm interested in trying out. As far as the old school truck goes, I had to put that project on a short hold while while the Nissan is getting fixed up. I'll have more videos on that out shortly
Great video series. I have a question. How do you protect the backside of panels you have spot pulled? The pain certainly burns on the backside where you weld. Have you found a solution?
Can you do body filler and wait a couple of days for the primer or do you need to do the primer as soon as possible before the body filler absorbs atmospheric moisture? What about after the primer, can you wait before the base coat or do you need to go as fast as possible?
If the car is in the garage or something then there is no need, if it is sitting outside, in theory you should prime the body filler to encapsulate it. Once the car is in primer you don't really have to worry. You can even let the car sit for a year and then get it painted
Yes, it can absolutely be used to fix motorcycle gas tanks, just make sure that tank is 100% empty and had been ventilated for couple of days prior to using this tool on it to make sure you won't cause an explosion... This tool can be used to work on most metal panels
@@fix206 You do a nice job. In the case of motorcycle gas tank, the thin shet is not a problem? I´m talking about pirce it. Thanks you so much for reply. Regards from Argentine!!
I just put it on a quick hold while this Nissan project gets quickly knocked out of the way. Nissan doesn't have much more to go so I'll be right back on the 48 here in no time !!

My friend, I've made a video sometime ago about how I built it. It's not that hard and just about anyone can build one. I've made a very detailed video on how I did it. Here's the link th-cam.com/video/j6UgtCN5vzU/w-d-xo.html. Pretty soon I will start selling circuit board that controls this machine much better than the electronic components in the video
