  • We've done a few more mods and upgrades, and added some accessories to our Trailmanor 2720 SL in preparation for our 2020 Trailmanor Travels. Come take a look at what we've been up to. These mods, upgrades, and accessories are also some good ones for other RVs.

    We're a few years down the road now... have you made any further modifications?

      Thanks for the comment. Most of what we've been doing is maintenance related, but I'll have to check to see if I've missed anything.

    Hello. I like your upgrades and am employing a few of them. I would like to know where you accessed power for your charging ports. Also I recently posted a question on the Trailmanor forum about powering the Trailmanor outlets from my inverter. Someone said you had done this. If you have, could you please direct me to the video that’s shows it? Thanks and safe travels.

      Hi Allen and thanks for the comment. For the charging ports, we removed the antennae amp /power port on the side of the fridge cabinet, made a larger opening, and used the 12 volt power that was there. For the outlets, we have a transfer switch that automatically switches from shore or generator power to inverter power. It powers all 120 volt service in the trailer. People have also installed a dedicated outlet that is powered by the inverter only. That is another option. Check out this vider" How we did it: Solar and A.C. upgrades, installations, and walkthroughs. Trailmanor 2720 SL" to get an idea how we went about things. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching, and safe travels.

    I enjoyed the video. It is always good to know that I am not the only gadget person! :) I prefer to refer to them as "investments" in my sanity! Every little bit helps. Great job!

      Glad you enjoyed the video. "Investments in one's sanity" are always a good thing. They can be hard to come by sometimes. Thanks for watching and safe travels.

    Sweet additions!! I really wish I understood the solar part of my TrailManor. Will you be traveling thru California after the RTR?

      We aren't going to The RTR because we aren't RTs. We're going to Quartzsite to check out the shows. There's a lot to see in January and February. The solar panel option installed on our Trailmanor is an 85-watt panel and a PWM type controller. It's a Specialty Concepts Mark 15. The panel sends a little power, around 5 amps, to the controller. The controller sends power to the batteries until they are charged. How much depends on how efficient the controller is. 5 amps aren't much when charging batteries. Using a switch on the front panel you can see battery voltage and the power coming in from the panel as well as turning off or on the LED battery graph and checking the charging setpoint. We added 2 100 watt panels and another controller so we could send another around 12 amps to the new MPPT controller. We are going to add 200 more watts of panels for another around 12 amps to another controller. Depending on how efficient the controllers are will affect how much they send to the batteries. The new controllers can display more types of information and we can adjust them so they charge the batteries correctly. Multiple controllers can be connected to the same battery with no problem. When the battery is charged, they will just stop sending power to it. We want to use our inverter some so we need to make sure our solar can keep up.

    Noticed a screen on the upper part of your door, did you make that or can it be bought & where? Thank you, love your videos.

      Hi Robin and thanks for the comment. Sorry for the delay in answering. I'm not getting messages sometimes. I made our screen door. It's pretty simple to do if you're handy. The top door and hinge needs to be removed to cut a small part of the top hinge that is used to support the top of the screen. That's really the worst of it. If you check on the Trailmanor fans Facebook page there may be leads to get a kit if you want to go that route. Good luck. Thanks for watching and safe travels.

    Hi! I own a Trailmanor 2720. What’s the tire pressure supposed to be at? 50 psi? Thank you.

    • @thecritterandthebutterfly
      @thecritterandthebutterfly  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Judy and thanks for watching. The best thing is to look at your particular tire for the inflation pressure. They can range anywhere from 55 to 85 P.S.I. Ours are Goodyear Endurance and are rated at 85 P.S.I cold. They are a load range E tire so run a higher pressure and can handle more weight and higher speed. Yours will be imprinted on the sidewall along with the load rating, tire size, and other such things. You can look online to find out how to tell the age of your tire as well. There are two groups of two numbers by the DOT stamp. The first two tell what week the tire was made and the second two tell the year if you're ever curious. Thanks for stopping by, and have a grand day.

    Whats the best venue to buy a trail manor?

    • @thecritterandthebutterfly
      @thecritterandthebutterfly  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Marie and thanks for the question. There are many places to find Trailmanors. For used we found ours on RV Trader, but they can also be found on the Trailmanor Fans Facebook page, Trailmanor Owners Forum, Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, or if you have a Trailmanor or RV dealer they may advertise as well. An online search should find several. There are many out there to choose from. Prices can vary quite a bit depending on the region. For new, from a Trailmanor dealer or from Trailmanor directly. Your local dealer can be found on the Trailmanor website. Good luck with your search. Thanks for watching and safe travels.
