I've seen them fly up at dusk to roost twice, and fly down from a ledge once. But it's always neat seeing such a large bird fly. Poor squirrelly with only one hand. It seems to be doing well, though. And yes, it's sad when you think they're gone forever.
@@throckwoddle Around here, it’s a big relief to find out the huge bird in a tree is just a friendly turkey!! 🦃 Yes, the guy missing the paw had all 4 when I met him a few years ago. He recovered by himself from the loss, which I suspect is from a neighbor who thinks his garden is more important than living beings. Very sad. But L’Oreal is doing amazing!!!
Well that was a first for me to see a turkey fly 😂😂 I had wondered about Condo girl... I think about dirty harry too...amongst others who have made a place in our hearts, I'm always hopeful they will return at some point.
I've often wondered the same thing. I have a squirrel that has a floppy shriveled up front paw that she had broken 2 years ago. She runs and climbs trees with only 3 legs and i can't imagine how horible it would be in extream cold with a frozen paw. As humans we can take turns warming our hands when they get cold and are not in contact with the snow while searching for food. When our fingers are frozen it is impossible to do much. I don't understand how the would climb with a cold paw. 😢😢😢
a squirrels lifespan outside is 2-5 yrs. max thanx to humans, most die under tires. my inside baby has zoomed through 5 yrs. and headed for another 5. iluvmyscurius
@@Littleanimalsarecute Yeah, it was. They threw a bunch of turkeys out of a helicopter; and they were all killed. And in his defense. Mr. Carslon, the General Manager of WKRP said... "As God is my witness, I really believed Turkeys could fly." There's a lot of clips on TH-cam. Just type "WKRP Turkeys"
@@TurnerTurnip That's horrible. It's only the wild turkeys that have any experience, or ability, to fly. And they don't fly long distances or from/to great heights. Much less whatever turbulence the helicopter was creating (the blades push down, which would make it that much more difficult for the turkeys to get lift).
@@hppower_and_squirrels I think so. I had my suspicions it was one of Rover’s kids, in the same drey as RJ and The Character. That would put Cino between 1-2 years old. ❤️👍
It's amazing how well you know your little friends ❤❤. I loved the story about you shepherding Gizmo to a safe place 😊😊, I'm definitely Team Gizmo ❤❤
I had a turkey fly right across my windshield while i was driving. Freaked me out! Thank goodness we didn't collide!😊😊😊😮😮😮
@@dianewilliams1125 Whoa!!! That would be so freaky! They’re huge!!

Wow. So Mr. Carlson from WKRP was right all along. Turkeys really can fly!
Ha! Was that a topic on that show? Funny!!

@@throckwoddle Well, it was just a TV sitcom show. So thankfully, it's not like any Turkeys were actually killed.
@@TurnerTurnip Thanks. That was a bit before my time so I didn't recognize it as a show.
