This angle really helps put into perspective just how tangible the extra width would be.. it's not as bad as some say, but that's still too little a difference. I will have no issue with skipping this upgrade. Maybe the Fold 7. Or maybe an entirely different brand if I i can be convinced that I'm not missing out on software features
The UI is unbeatable by any other fold phone other fold phones might have the bigger screens and look better but the UI features of Samsung fold can't be beat and it's still a good looking phone
Ahh yes i remember the good old days when my Zfold was able to Open!!Samsung wasn't able to fix it under Warranty because the phone had i microscopic scratch on it,but generously they offered to fix it for $1100👍
No the thing is in galaxy z fold 5 the screen was curved from the right side but as compared to galaxy fold 6 it's being similar to the typical s24 Ultra design so even the screen is just 1 mm wider than the fold 5 it looks like a lot great difference.
The screen is exactly 3mm wider, looks better but it's not worth the price at all. Honor Magic V3 or Vivo X Fold 3 are much better than this lazy release.
All flagship phones are well over a 1000 now so not sure why the price is still a shock. Once you factory in the trade in and freebies it’s really not bad at all.
Have they fixed the fingerprint issue the s24 ultra has with its new glass? Samsung said they never coated it in whatever they done with previous devices I had to install a tempered glass screen protector to eradicate the issue it was driving me bonkers
@@kavinab6629 lol, sounds like you've never owned any other galaxy fold before. After a few generations of non-upgrades you'll eventually jump ship to another manufacturer. Not the case in Europe though, we have choice and alternatives to Samsung's folding last gen brick.
I have a fold 5. Realistically I have no reason to upgrade. The phone is great. I also had the 2 and 4. (In the USA samsung runs out of the top models a lot so if you buy the top storage option by the time you need to use the insurance and get a new one they upgrade you to the newest one on the market. My fold 4 and 5 were both gotten this way.) I don't want a thinner phone. In fact I would be happy if folded it were 30-35mm thick. I want the largest battery they can give me, active cooling, 4 speakers, and a built in pen slot. I don't need new cameras or the newest processor tbh. I want battery life, integrated pen, and speakers. In fact an even larger inner screen would be nice. Folded out into a 9 inch tablet would be sick.

They really improved the look! No selfie cam on the interior, WHAT A CONCEPT. But they need to get it slimmer so it looks like a normal phone. I hope they carry this design language to the Flip 6, i might give it a shot if so.
With my fold 5 trade in I could get the fold 6 for $549 but I'm so disappointed with that cover screen! I think they would loose a lot of money on this fold 6. I would get it if it brough the balance down to like $150 but just not worth the upgrade.
This was a truly well put together video. This man has talent for sure on camera. The z fold 6 is complete horse sht two s23 ultra hammed together. Z fold 5. The ultimate fold so far.. love the way it holds also instead of sharp edges.
I was waiting for this device but seeing that they recycled the cameras from the F5 that recycled them from the F4 that recycled them from the F3 is quite a bit of a shame. I will just order a new battery for my fold 3 and wait for another year
And the screen will split within 3 month's like my fold 5 did and 8 month's for my fold 4! I got a warranty replacement back in February for my Zfold 5 it's sat in the drawer unopened since! Done with folds and went back normal device to a s24 ultra!
I was expecting something like Oneplus Open's Cover Display, Rounded Side Corner helps to Hold My Z Fold 5 properly... Hello! I have the s22 ultra and I already want to change. I always wanted a foldable and I don't know whether to go for the fold 6 or the fold 5. In Peru Samsung is selling the 500GB fold 5 for 1450 USD. The price of the new fold has not yet been released but there will be a big difference. What do you recommend me? I have seen that there are not many differences that are worth the price difference
Imo, samsung does not want to make a larger front screen like the ultra because the s24 ultra and the like may become obsolete. I also think if you get a wider front screen, there is a likely that you wont open (fold/unfold) the phone as often as it needs to which defeats it purpose. I'm in the minority that is ok with this form factor which can fit easily in your pocket and not another brick size phone folded.
The opening seconds... That massive visible crease... How can Samsung even think this aged tech is acceptable in 2024? Respect for having invented the foldable phone but being first didnt save Nokia either.. innovate damnit!!
I got the fold 5 as a free upgrade since my fold 4 broke and I still have to say I was 100% fine with the fold 4. These upgrades are still so minimal that it feels like a waste of time and that kind of sucks since I was excited for a real upgrade already. I do like the squared off design, never been a fan of the rounded sharp but still feels lame that it is essentially the exact same phone. No sdcard or bigger storage and the same battery life with promises of better battery life under certain circumstances and STILL NO S-PEN SLOT WTF!!!!
One thing not mentioned but curious to know. Does the external screen have the same 'no glare' glass as does the s24 ultra? I know the internal screen doesn't but it'd be really nice if the external one did. Thanks
As a loyal samsung consumer, they only got one more chance to win me back with samsung fold 7, Otherwise I will permanently switch to another brand, who actually wants to listen and be innovative. Please, Samssung, dont disappoint me as you did these couple of years.😔
AI photos look good, but the S24 Ultra doesn't have that feature yet. A new update is due this month, though, which will add features like drawing on pictures and the cat drawing. The Fold 5 will also get the same update as the S23 and S24 Ultras this month. The square edges do look better; the Fold should have had that from the start! But I won't get another one; even when treated with kid gloves, they seem to break faster.
Thought they were going make an ultra version with a slot for the s pen and a wider front display. Instead it's another minor upgrade so will just keep my fold 3 for the time being. Really disappointing.
So no 100mp camera, no s-pen, no crease fixes, no titanium, and $100 more? How does this deserve to be more expensive than the s24ultra? Only way id buy a fold is if it was useable as a normal phone.
Still on my Fold 3 because waiting for a proper upgrade especially for the battery and S-Pen storage but disappointed from the 4, 5 and apparently the 6 too. Seems like I will be switching to a foldable from Honor or Huawei soon. And hopefully Sony releases a foldable soon after so I can switch to that.
Disappointed with how little the upgrades are from the previous generation of Fold but I'm coming from a Note 9 with a loose headphone jack so I really have no reason to daily drive my Note 9 at this year anymore plus I got myself around $800 discount pre-ordering a Fold 6.
I currently have zfold4 where the hinge broke after a year making the phone not totally opening, almost a week after the warranty expired. Brought it to Samsung repair and is asking $450 for repair. Like wtf? I will never ever buy these fold phones, not until they provide lifetime warranty for these kinds of hinge issues.

I feel this fold 6 is finally the wan to encourage ppl to get into it or upgrade since the 3rd/4th.
(Especially for ppl tht wanna get a samsung for whatever reason , brand.. ease of mind... *"7YEARS OF UPGRADE"* )
2 main thing :
1) 2:20 / 2:35
Ip rating includes dust resistance now
2) The minor but wider change in aspect ratio.
Went through many Fold 6 and Flip 6 review/hands-on videos, but only subscribed to this because Chris says Z the proper "zet" way not the zheety way.
Rocking my Z Fold 5 and no regrets
1:17 Thanks for this exact shot. I absolutely love my Z Fold 5, but the outer screen is way small in my hands.
Vivo x Fold 3 Pro, is still king of Foldable phone & least expensive 👑
Vivo slaped the fold 5 and this for 100$ more or 200 euros more this gets clapped even more.
Don't know what samsung think nowadays, same design only different a bit from last gen 😓 battery only 4400 though, btw i am Vivo X Fold gen 1 user.
I would say OnePlus open the king
Honor Magic V3 or Vivo X Fold 3 are much better than this lazy release.
the biggest upgrade imo is the ip48 rating.. it's the only feature that stands out from all the other foldables
All flagship phones are well over a 1000 now so not sure why the price is still a shock. Once you factory in the trade in and freebies it’s really not bad at all.
Uncle Spurt with hair?! I never thought I'd see the day that AI could be deliberately funny!!! 🤣
Have they fixed the fingerprint issue the s24 ultra has with its new glass? Samsung said they never coated it in whatever they done with previous devices I had to install a tempered glass screen protector to eradicate the issue it was driving me bonkers
Why do people think the target audience is Fold 5 users only? This is a good enough upgrade for the Fold 3/4 users.
I've had the 2/3/4, this is a joke of a upgrade
I have a Fold
5: I will not be upgrading.
Condolences. Stop buying fat chunky Samsung hardware, there are better options.
I have the 5 too. This update is disappointing to say the least. Same phone with squarer design basically and a lil bit better chip
@@NeonVisual actually love it but the 6 is just not much of an improvement…what’s a better alternative ?
@@kavinab6629 lol, sounds like you've never owned any other galaxy fold before. After a few generations of non-upgrades you'll eventually jump ship to another manufacturer. They're lightyears ahead of Samsung, but most Americans don't get any options due to the US's trade war with China. Not the case in Europe though, we have choice and alternatives to Samsung's folding last gen brick.
@@NeonVisuallight years ahead in software ???lol crap miui and funtouch is 😅😂😂
Bro out here dropping the deats before samsung do...Great work Spurt!
My fold 4 and 5 were both gotten this way.)
I don't want a thinner phone. Folded out into a 9 inch tablet would be sick.
i remain, as per every year, underwhelmed by the „upgrades“ and still have no intention of getting one of those foldables from sams. prices are TGH (flossy). products made in china are wayyy ahead now, as your fellow reviewer named ben mentioned in his first response. good work Chris👍🏻 always fun
They really improved the look! No selfie cam on the interior, WHAT A CONCEPT. But they need to get it slimmer so it looks like a normal phone. I hope they carry this design language to the Flip 6, i might give it a shot if so.
So... What exactly have the Samsung engineers been doing for the past year?
With my fold 5 trade in I could get the fold 6 for $549 but I'm so disappointed with that cover screen! I think they would loose a lot of money on this fold 6. I would get it if it brough the balance down to like $150 but just not worth the upgrade.
Its worth it if its only$500 for the warranty alone. Wtf are you saying, its $1000 with fold 5 tradein on my country
This was a truly well put together video. This man has talent for sure on camera.
The z fold 6 is complete horse sht two s23 ultra hammed together. Z fold 5. The ultimate fold so far.. love the way it holds also instead of sharp edges.
That front screen is probably whats gonna get me to buy the Z fold 8. Its gonna get thinner bezels every gen.
the only words I love from this intro is " OH BLOODY OUCH ....... IS IT WORTH SELLING MY NEWBORN TO THE BLACK MARKET TO BAG THIS MASSIVE FLEXIBLE GIT?
Imagine paying full price for a phone with no improved camera at a price of two phones. Holy shit man what a joke
6th generation, still with such an obvious crease. Look at Oppo Find N3? Look at Honor Magic V2?
Too busy with AI bullshits
Wow. I’m gonna be staring at this screen all day.
As a Life long apple user , I must say this is impressive. I’d never expect this much innovation between a models from apple.
I love your videos on the flips and folds! Can you make a motorola vs samsung video for the flips? I'm still in doubt which to get!
Mine is ordered and hopefully on its way within about a week!
I was expecting something like Oneplus Open's Cover Display, Rounded Side Corner helps to Hold My Z Fold 5 properly...
I switched to S24 Ultra from Z Fold 4 but Due to its Sharp Corners I switched again to Folding Device i.e Z Fold 5...Sharp Corners with a Giant Display makes S24 Ultra very uncomfortable...
Samsung fold 5.2
Samsung fold 4.2
Samsung fold 3.2
I really wanted Chris to draw “hair” on his head and see how the AI merges it with the picture… missed opportunity 😆
That translator AI is gonna come in handy when you are stood around or near people talking about you in their language.. 👀🤫😏
Excellent review
the most trusty man , thanks
The new Samsung UI redesign coming will make a difference to them abit!
I have an S22 Ultra, should I trade it on for a Z 5? I cant sfford the Z 6...
Respect for having invented the foldable phone but being first didnt save Nokia either.. innovate damnit!!
as an engineer I would of put the hinge in the opposite landscape way down the middle so it fits well in the pocket.
Hoping inside screen last longer than two years or 7 years for OS update to use
Still has the crease at gen 6 lol how do other companies figure out the crease but Samsung can’t?
I got the fold 5 as a free upgrade since my fold 4 broke and I still have to say I was 100% fine with the fold 4. These upgrades are still so minimal that it feels like a waste of time and that kind of sucks since I was excited for a real upgrade already. I do like the squared off design, never been a fan of the rounded sharp but still feels lame that it is essentially the exact same phone. No sdcard or bigger storage and the same battery life with promises of better battery life under certain circumstances and STILL NO S-PEN SLOT WTF!!!!
I love my fold5. Contemplating on the 6. Money is not a problem but im wondering if its worth the upgrade...
毫无新意😂😂
One thing not mentioned but curious to know. Does the external screen have the same 'no glare' glass as does the s24 ultra? I know the internal screen doesn't but it'd be really nice if the external one did. Thanks
no it does not
Speakers any different?
OMG! An extra millimeter of screen real estate! 😍
Your word choice is hilarious!
Glad i jump ship to Oppo Find N3 instead
Just need these other companies that make these fold phones to improve their software. I'm so ready to jump ship....
Still happy with my OnePlus open
When I don't want it.... its not worth it. I hope the 7 is better. The 5 just seems so perfect. All they did was change the look...
I'll get the new buds and trade in my old one but my z fold 5 works fine, same battery size, and I prefer round edges
Not upgrading from my zfold5. 😢
I was expecting more. I guess I'll wait for the S25 Ultra and just pickup the buds pro 3 this time around.
Thanks for the info, 1mm wider on the front screen isn't good enough. I'll go with the new pixel fold again.
They have pretty damn good pre-order deals to where they cost the same as a base model Ultra/Pro phone.
I like the square form factor. That is all. Charges too slow for me.
for anyone deciding, just get the z fold 5 its still a charm
waiting for galaxy s25 I guess :)
An that's what ppl don't realize the Samsung folds aren't there flag ship devices 😂... Only the S series are
@@yaboinellz0804 true , I am not sure what the fold is for. I want my boxy mini tablet with stylus
I have the fold 4 and still not wanting to upgrade 😅 i will keep my £2000 and keep my fingers crossed for the fold 7 🤞🏻
Can pick up refurbished fold 5 for 700 these days defo won't be parting with 1700 quid for the 6
Best man. Without Tara directly for comparison 🎉❤
Watching this on my fold5 that i just bought i may get this because it's pink ❤
Still in Love with my z fold 3. No reason to upgrade once again 😡 been saying that since the z fold 4 release
I currently have zfold4 where the hinge broke after a year making the phone not totally opening, almost a week after the warranty expired. Brought it to Samsung repair and is asking $450 for repair. Like wtf? I will never ever buy these fold phones, not until they provide lifetime warranty for these kinds of hinge issues.
whats the point of these folding phones if they cant get the price down?
It’s more of a face lift rather than an upgrade 😅
