I could stay and listen to this Song over and over again for hours, everyday... The voice of Alison Is simply marvellous ... It's like Paradise. Bravissima ❤ 👏👏👏
Now just over 40 year old it's definitely stood the test of time Alisons voice is undeniably different in so many ways she was amazing and would realise so many quality solo hits between 1984 an 1987 all brilliantly put together! 💙
I'm again blown away by the gravitas of this song. It is a perfect eclipse of the visuals, the music, the lyrics and the vocals performed by a woman like no other. All culminating in a singularity of art only possible in the 80s. I simply can't comprehend the deep magik of that time.
The British saved the music industry in the 80's with an audio reboot and a boatload of creativity and style. Sometimes unappreciated but not forgotten.
Underappreciated, yes. My husband and I are both American-born and bred, but due to his decades-long interest in punk he got exposed to a lot more British post-punk and 2 Tone ska because of overlapping genres in the fan base. I only heard the New Wave and ska songs that charted, unless I bought the album. And I wasn't old enough to get into clubs until '89 anyway. I had no idea XTC has such a large catalog, or that Madness put out so many videos and were so much more successful in the UK. I love the former for their diverse styles and themes, and the latter for being such nutty fun.
Well, for the first half of the 80s but by the second half people saw what Stock Aitken and Waterman were doing, churning out hits on a production line and that's when it started going downhill again. Early 90s and Rave kept things fresh but once the boy band and girl band thing took over it was back to made up puppet groups.
This song keeps proving my point that songs from the 80’s are absolute bangers. I’m not even from the 80’s, I was born in 2003, but if you had to ask me which era of music is the best, I would choose the 80’s in a heartbeat
You know, one of the best things about being in my 50's now, is that I lived my teenage years in the 80's........Priceless, and I wouldn't change them for the world!
110% about that, the way the music was and the way we got along whith eachother.....Damned i miss those days so much. The older i gett the more i preciated my youth...
I;m amazed no one has commented so far on the obvious double entendres in the song "Love Ressurection" actually means "LoversErection" hence the line before it about "needing a warm injection:" it actually makes the song better knowing that that is what she is really singing about
We needed a shift in music from the glamrock and uninspiring sounds of the 70s. The 80s came along with a new age and approach to what the youth needed and from then on a whole new teenage lookback was created. We grew up and met our current partners to music like this. Epic and wonderful.
It's always the combination of a great band/artist and a great production team that creates such masterpieces. Here it's Alison with Steve Jolley and Tony Swain.
My dad always used to play one of Alison’s songs when I was younger when he used to go and work out. He unfortunately passed to cancer in 2020, and when I moved back in with my mum I had bought his pc back to my mums house, and one day my cat was playing with the pc box and he accidentally opened up the disc drive. When I was telling him off, I just happened to find one of Alison’s cds in the disc drive. My dad must have forgotten about it over time or left it in there but I definitely felt as if it was a sign that he was still here. It was so heartwarming and bought back a massive memory for me.
Everyone knows about a tune with a hook that brings you in but how come the eighties song did this at the beginning of the songs? great songs that wont be repeated! Alison Moyet is awesome!
I live in the Czech Republic, I spent my youth under communism. Such videos were not possible for us, but I listened to foreign radios and charts. I am happy that I experienced the musical gems of the eighties, this is one of them...
Great female artist of the 1980s Such a beautiful and powerful voice This song was released in the summer of '84 May or June 1984 I turned 6 years old in the summer of '84 80s music forever Simply beautiful 😍 🤩
This is a beautiful song and i only discovered it recently. It reminds me of my dad ( who passed away this year and his loss pains me a lot) who took us to Saudi Arabia in the 1980s. Probably the best years of my life. Alison must have fallen in love with that serenity that those images conjure. People don't understand what the Middle East is like unless they've lived there. Thank you Alison for this song. It also reminds me of the famous movie " Lawrence of Arabia". One of my all time favorites.
This song and video were SO ahead of their time. This album released when I was graduating high school. I wore out so many cassettes of Alison, Yaz, and Erasure in the 80s. Her new music is just as good. Thank you, Alison, for so many years and hours of listening pleasure.
What a pity that she, Annie Lennox, Simon Le Bon, Paul 🤴🏻 (the one from "Love and Pride", whose singing like Cher), guy from Silent Circle and Marian Gold they never sang togheter! 😒🙄 That would be a great sextet... 😁
Ok so most of us were born 1970 or around that time. Were simply blessed to have been growing up during the best decade of music clothes tv cars and great inventions making us the best people today. We have our priorities in the right place
Always an Alison moyet fan from the first time I heard her in the early 80's. My only regret was I never got to see her live as I was too young. Fortunately the youth of today have the internet
I am sick to almost death of people comparing Alison to Adele. Moyet is on a level way way out of Adele's wildest imagination. In 10 years people will be saying "Adele?". What's her last name.... And here we are still listening to Alison after 34 years.

Your generational bias is just sad. There's no point arguing with a zealot over what constitutes talent but the idea Adele will be forgotten in a decade is plainly ludicrous.
Apparently while making this video Alison was propositioned for marriage numerous times. Her striking beauty and voluptuous figure was a God send for these men, oh and she wasn't wearing enough jewellery so they new she was single. Alison is no one's trophy she belongs to the world, her voice is mesmerising.
1985 - finding a great album and you listen to it on repeat. cant decide between a couple of them. 2020 - finding a single song after a long time and you are happy you can listen to it on repeat.
This Alison Moyet song love resurrection is truly a masterpiece of pop music and Alison Moyet s vocals are so powerful from a 59 years old Irishman fan
Far better than Adele, but not nearly as lauded for her talent as she should be! Love Alison's voice and was fortunate to have seen her in concert. Absolutely BRILLIANT! 👏👏👏👏👏👏🤗❤
Alison Moyets voice is one of the natural wonders of the world, brings back a lot of the 80s for me. Such a powerful, honest and heart rendering quality. IMO no other voice could’ve done her beautiful epic song the same justice. A woman of her talents for singing and songwriting should have scaled greater heights. It’s a pity she was crippled with social anxieties, weight problems and body image issues. I was surprised that she recently graduated with 1st class degree in Fine Art Printing from Brighton University, in England, not far from me. Thats a significant plus for a 60+ yr old with Dyslexia and ADHD issues🙏🏽
