    You were the leader design for Syphon Filter? Richard, you are a legend. Still one of my favorite game of all time. And now you do the best boardgames gameplay videos. Keep up the good work!

      Me and my cousin played the heck out of Syphon Filter 2. We made a cardboard shield that kept us from knowing where the other one was on the map.
      Mr. Ham, you just got a whole lot cooler in my book.

    i love this game. i tried it about a year ago, and played with 4 players. I fell asleep it was so boring, but i got suggestions from the other players on bgg Aeons last thursday and ive been playing it ever since. I play it about every 2 days now and ran up 8 games since last friday. I would greatly suggest the base to any one. its the best. i just ordered Aeons end eternal war. i cant wait to get it. and of course i jump into the legacy kickstart.
    Enjoy.

      What changed? Why did it change from boring to exciting?

  • @LoremasterRyan
    @LoremasterRyan 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Why am I just finding out that you developed Brink which is, in my opinion, one of the most woefully underrated games of all time. I put Brink in my top 10 Xbox 360 games and it is right up their with Mass Effect on my list. I got so good with Brink it was scary.

      @rahdo  8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      thanks a lot, i'm always glad to hear from folks who "got it"... I love Brink and am super proud of it, warts and all :)

      Long time viewer, rare YT commenter. Just wanted to chime in and say that when I was deployed to Afghanistan in '11-'12 my team chipped in and bought a 360. We designated a rotation roster in-between missions of who got what playing times. So, a game I randomly got my hands on was Brink and I used all my designated time playing it over and over again, without internet mind you. Game played a part in helping me get through my deployment, and I still have it till this day as a memento.
      Thank you.

      Wow, thanks for sharing that! I get a lot of "you worked on Brink? I loved that game" notes, but this one is probably the most meaningful one I've heard! Even though I don't work at Splash Damage any more, I just forwarded this along to them, as I'm sure they'll all be happy to hear it too. Happy new year!

    • @H1ghdra
      @H1ghdra 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      It's just one of those things that's a real experience and feels impossible to convey due to target audience. Just never been worth sharing before, and I'm glad the meaning wasn't lost. Thanks for putting it out there to your former co-workers. You all derseve an equal heartfelt thanks, and a nice memory to go into the new year doesn't hurt.
      Obviously I put stake into reviews, as I wouldn't be on your channel in the first place. When I got back to the States and heard what the mainstream public opinion was of Brink, I was bewildered at first but frankly didn't care. I know what I know, and while it's unfortunate that it would be lost on them, I'm thankful I have this chance to share something so personal back to it's creators.

    How did you phase that other camera in and out at the beginning and the end of this video, since it wasn't phased out on the livestream.

    • @rahdo
      @rahdo  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +OpenWorldAddict during the live broadcast i was actually filming with 4 cameras... two webcams which is what everyone saw streamed, and my normal two camera put in almost exactly the same position, recording things normally. these runthrough videos are the result of my normal cams, which i edited together :)

    Hi Radho. What happened to the new table? Your last few videos are back on glass table.

    • @Falco20019
      @Falco20019 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      He didn't own it. He was just given it for a limited time as far as I remember. He said it in a video where he reviewed the table. I think it belongs to someone other on Malta.

    • @hammerheadfred5403
      @hammerheadfred5403 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      No that doesn't make sense. In the tables final thoughts video he clearly says he and Jen have been playing on it for months, and they picked the color to match their tile, as well as had the extension of the table on one end for laptops or cameras when filming.

    • @Falco20019
      @Falco20019 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Hammerhead Fred it does :) he was able to choose how it should be since he was given it for reviewing purpose. The producer wanted to give it to him for free, but Richard declined since he does not know how long they will stay in Malta. All their stuff belongs to the apartment and he didn't want to own it. He mentioned that it is loaned in the first video. Also last month there was a discussion on BGG: boardgamegeek.com/article/21701900#21701900 :)

    • @rahdo
      @rahdo  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Benjamin Krämer correct, the original plan was that after the loan period was over, that geek n' son would retrieve the table and use it as a demo model for conventions. but then i met a wargammer who is moving to malta, and showed him the table, and he liked it so much, he contacted geek n son, and they worked it out for him to buy the table outright

    would be nice to be able to read the cards... maybe have a hand cam that you can point at the cards? i dont really care about the rules if the card descriptions are vapid, boring, and unbalanced

    • @rahdo
      @rahdo  8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      +Hugh Janus yeah, sorry, this was a camera experiment that went along with the live broadcast playthrough of the game. i'm not that crazy with the results, and won't be having the camera this far away from the action again!
