True. But there's a lot of long term acts set up that way these days. One or two guys 'own' the brand - they hire employees. Not a terrible gig for the employees if the band is successful.
Guns N Roses reformed without Izzy Stradlin and Steve Adler. But when the band comes to town it's still called GNR. It's virtually impossible for a band to stay together forever. Too many personalities and egos clash over time. Just ask, Mr. Bill Wyman or whatever is currently touring under the name the "Allman Bros Band".

The brothers didn’t assert themselves as the focal point from there beginning... the Black Crowes were the group! They only came to the forefront of attention when the fighting took over from the music

Been a Crowes fan since the beginning. I don't know. I must be hearing something different from the rest of you cuz this isn't that great at all. Sounds muddy, hazy and flat. If you told me back in the early 90's that Chris and Rich would shun Steve and to an extent Marc Ford for a 30th anniversary reunion cash grab tour, I woulda told you you were crazy. I bet if Eddie Harsch were alive he wouldn't of gotten a phone call either. I still love their music but as human beings they are less than desireable. And this sound right here in my opinion is less than desireable. Maybe they will heat up by the time they get to my neck of the woods in September and I'll decide to go but if I just based my decision on principle alone there is no fucking way I'd give these guys my money so they can get out of the financial corner they have painted themselves into. They wouldn't even be in those corners if they, Chris especially had some integrity and morals and did the right thing and kept the band together in the first place.
