I love your videos! You need your own reality show. And it's so awesome to get skin care advice from a professional, rather than a beauty blogger. Really appreciate it.
Thanks! Loving your zoya nail colors on IG btw (at least I think that is you, lol). I need to check those out sometime, because I have heard they are free of a lot of the common allergens that other nail varnishes have in them. Hope you are having a nice weekend :)
as an Aussie, it shocks me that children are not allowed to bring SPF to school! here, they won't let you out to play unless you put sunscreen and a hat on.
-"I'm going to look for a lamp" -"Oh, look guys... Cocoa Butter Formula" -Lol I'm pretty sure lamps are not the pharmacy section. -"Oh candles" -Getting warmer lol
"It can take about 12 years to become a dermatologist, including time spent as an undergraduate, in medical school, and in a residency". So-- I am guessing 18 plus 12 years.... 30 to 32 years old. You look so young, so there must be something to the sunscreen that you use each day and wearing hardly any make-up. I have enjoyed watching a dozen of your videos on skin care.
Sunscreen makes a huge difference, too. Folks compliment me that I don't look 52 years young. I have read that most wrinkles don't come from age, from sun damage. Is that correct? Thanks for your informative videos. I'm a new subscriber, and appreciate your sharing your medical information with us. Yes, cassette tape generation represented. 😊
If you download the target app, the aisle location of your product is listed. There is also a store map that shows you where the product is located. You just need to set up your store location to the store you are shopping in.
I use the Ambi Fade Cream as a spot remover. I suggest it for that only. I'm a light skinned black woman and my post acne scars range from wine colored to almost black. With Ambi I've seen results in as little as a week when used twice a day. I will also add that you HAVE to use it with a sunscreen in the morning!
Okay the sunscreen in schools thing is baffling to me. It's just sunscreen. I understand the regulations of drugs and labels and stuff but it's just sunscreen. Maybe it's just me but seems weird for this to be something schools have to monitor.
Currently binge watching your videos. I love how they're very informative and let me know that most of the products I use now can be the reasons why certain things happen to my skin. Dr. Dray do you wear any kind of perfume? If so, can you make a video about the best brands based on their ingredients?
Hey Dr Dray! I stumbled upon your videos because I love skincare and I plan to go back to get a second masters as a physician assistant... my goal is to specialize in dermatology! Thanks for being the only legitimate, and entertaining, TH-camr I've seen discussing skincare. All the products I've experimented with and researched are on your channel, so I feel like I can trust your reviews 🙃
Hi Ms. Nicole, I will be a undergraduate next year and I read that you said you are going to get your second masters and then specialize in dermatology. I want to do the same thing , what did you major in as a undergraduate?
hi doc. seabuck thorn grows here in north Indian hill stations. its available in November-December. the fresh fruit is not that great, but its warm juice with a spoon of honey and a little star anise is a winter treat!! I don't know what it does for skin, but I do know that its a good source of vitamin c and beta carotene. have an amazing day!!
Those lamps go on clearance towards the end of the summer super cheap (like $4) once college kids go back to school. I bought one last year for my craft desk. Works great and does look better when on desk and filled with items.
I've used Hydroquinone before for about 3 months. It was relatively effective in reducing dark spots, however, the improvement was really slow. Is it ok to include Ambi with Adapalene skin care routine?
Hi! I bought Lytera on Amazon in December for $68.75 but unfortunately, I don't see it available for that price anymore. It looks like they have come out with a new one called "Lytera2.0". I'm guessing the one I bought has been discontinued so people are raising the price of the remaining bottles of original Lytera. I little does go a long way. One pump covers the whole face. You can also smell the licorice! I don't know if you like that smell. I find it worth the price because my melasma is pretty bad. Your skin is perfect! Thank you for these great informative videos.
I use Palmer's Cleansing oil. I love it! It dissolves every trace of makeup including mascara and liquid eyeliner. It leaves my skin feeling very soft and clean. It doesn't smell like rosehips though, more like cocoa. I dislike anything with fragrance that goes on my face but cocoa is an exception. :D The only skin lightener I've ever used was the Palmer's Eventone cream in the white glass jar. It smells awful so I would only wear it as a mask for an hour, then rinse it off. It did help to lighten the large sun spots on my left jawline (from driving), but it didn't fade them away completely. Initially the 2 spots grew large enough to form one large blob but the fade cream made them smaller and lighter in color. I still need to use concealer over them but not as much as before. I used the cream only once or twice per week for 3 months then stopped. I think the lightening has gone as far as it's going to and I don't want to risk some terrible side effect from over using the product. And like I said, it stinks! I also tried the Palmer's Fade Milk lotion for my forearms which also got a lot of sun damage....again from driving. But I didn't really see any improvement so I stopped that as well. I'm now using the Cerave SA cream anywhere I have sun spots or rough skin. I only use it at night and love how soft my skin is in the morning! :)
I'm asian and a lot of Asian skincare revolves around whitening and brightening of the skin, so in terms of that, I enjoyed the Benton snail bee line which includes azelaic acid, arbutin, and niacinamide. I used the snail bee serum and toner and only saw the lightening of recent acne marks, but did not have much of an effect with older PIH. If you're looking to try a cleansing oil, Banila Co makes some great cleansing balms! The pink and sensitive one are my favorites! Reminds me of coconut oil, it is solid then turns liquid from the heat of your palms. thanks for another great vlog!
I was not aware of the Benton snail bee line, thanks for sharing this here! I saw the banila co cleansing oil on peach and liliy and was wondering if that would be a good one, so thanks for the tip off! Hope your day is going well :)
Love the Palmer's oil, it really cleans without stripping! I finally found the perfect cover for my redness. Gabriel Cosmetics makes a dual powder foundation with no talc, not heavy just enough to cover the green concealer, and it lasts all day!
Not sure if it’s been mentioned before or not, but, if you’re looking at a product with gelatine in it, look to see if there is a kosher label. If there is, then that gelatine is plant based, not from horse/cow hooves, therefore is ok for vegetarians. Not sure what the standard is for vegans.
PC has a serum in their Calm line (which is for sensitivity/redness/rosacea) that has hyaluronic acid, glycerin, ceramides, licorice, willow herb, and soybean seed extract, among other things. I got it for redness (which it helped A LOT, but I don't have rosacea) and I was surprised that it actually seemed to make my skin brighter as well. I use it like a day moisture boost under my sunscreen. I apply it on clean, slightly damp skin, and my skin just sucks it up. Afterwards my skin glows. Not sure if that qualifies, but thought I'd share. 😀 The bottle is small and it's pricey, but I've had my bottle over two months now and I still have a good bit, so a dab goes a long way. It's not the most expensive serum I've seen, really.
Rachel Beauregard that is good to know! Yeah their stuff is insanely pricey and I worry they put too many ingredients in that could wind up irritating rather than do any really good. My colleagues recommend the skin bar and people seem to note brightening with it, so it seems worthwhile if you are motivated. Thanks for sharing your experience with their calm line 👍🏼
if you're a born in the 80s/child of the 90s (like me!) did you see that Chris Cornell died? I was not really a grunge kid but "Black Hole Sun" feels like it definitely has a spot on the soundtrack of my life.
I've finally admitted publicly to my age this year .. it's been freeing ... I'm 56 and I'll be be 57 in June. So any advice for have for mature skin... I'll cherish 😉 I've become a huge CeraVe fan since listening to you and almost everything I use it does have ceramides and niacinamide in it....❤️♥️
Since I started using The Ordinary Alpha Arbutin 2% with my Vitamin C serum, my skin is much brighter, my tone is more uniform, and my hyperpigmentation on my forehead has faded. I can't get enough of your videos! P.S. I think my application of two sunscreens is helping prevent new signs of hyperpigmentation!
Paula’s Choice Vitamin C (the older formula in the bottle dropper) made my skin appear brighter! Since you asked at the end of the video what we have tried. I love all of Paula’s Choice products especially her Resist SPF sunscreen. It wells wear under makeup and has just a slight skin colored tint to it.
The only thing I have used that actually gave brightening results is the L-ascorbic acid serum. The other forms of Vitamin C are not worth the money. I have also used the Alpha Skincare(purchased on Amazon) Dual Action Cream with 2% hydroquinone and 10% glycohlic acid to spot treat some brown spots on my hands and I have seen them lighten up quite a bit. Yes Dr., I am a good girl. I DO apply sunscreen to the backs of my hands! LOL
I’d like to add to the oils convo, since it’s a great topic of interest on here and on the rest of the 'net. On a beauty site I visit, the blogger wrote that she doesn’t recommend the usual oils used for cleansing and/or moisturizing (like castor, almond, rose hip, etc) because those oils are unsaturated. Her reasoning for avoiding unsaturated oils is that they are unstable and thus making the user susceptible to free radicals. On the flip side, according to her, saturated oils aren’t damaging; instead, they are stable and resist free radicals. Her top two oils are coconut (she doesn't think it's comedogenic) and squalane (not squalene) oil. While I’m most definitely not a dermatologist, I’ve got to admit her theory is a bit convincing! Regardless, I think when it comes to facial oils anyone should err on the side of caution anyway. PS. The cash tip was great, Dr. Dray! I admire your thriftiness, haha. Article source: bit.ly/2pYESMx
I’ve used many things to lighten scaring and recently I’ve been loving the Sunday Riley vitamin c serum. To anyone using the ambi fade cream : it works just be patient.
Lytera is a very good product for melasma. I use it on my breaks from my prescription hydroquinone. Lytera definitely lightens the dark spots from melasma.
Thanks for sharing this Ms Kristin! Lytera has licorice extract and niacinamide, which as I elaborated in my dark spots/melasma Q&A and today's Q&A on Asian skin care ingredients, have been shown to impart a brigthening effect. Glad to hear you note a difference with this product. Is it really $130? That is what the skinmedica website says. Hope a little goes a long way.
Hi Andrea Cassette days and using your finger to rewind. Memories 😄 I have to say I found a cute candle at target this past winter. They have wood wick and when they burn they crackel . Just like a fireplace would crackel. Weather they have any new scents out for summer I can't say. They are fun to hear. Funny how you purchase the bag of chocolate chips, I'm starring at one now on my counter to make gluten free cookies. Better get to it before I crack the bag open. 😂😂😂 they become a candy treat 😁 Have a relaxing night 😴😴
hi. I use garnier dark spot corrector with great results. also recently added garnier glycolic night peel only twice a week for fear of any irritation, it stated that it is safe for daily use. but I'm being cautious. tks to you and your advice on your blogs. your tips have helped me immensely. especially about the importance of using a sunscreen when using any type of skin lightening product. you are the best Dr.Dray!!
I've been using Burts Bees Brightening line as a moisturizer and it's really one of the best creams out there with the added bonus of brightening. It's not a skin whitening cream but it does even out your skin and help your face get a glowy complexion.Actually Burts Bees is one of the best kept secrets in skin care. Their Intensive Hydration line is also superb.
Hi Andrea I enjoyed this video very much...i use Ambi, I don't use it consistently for any period of time..i find if I mix it with Trentinion, i do get better results...seems like the brownish spots are faded to a pinker tone..but hasn't completely eradicate them. I'm intrigued by the prescription Azelaic acid..what is it lcalled? Thanks, enjoy your weekend 😊
hey Dray 😄 I just came across your videos and I can already tell you're such a nice person, and I am going to enjoy your videos and find them informative😃 I wish you all the happiness and health in 2019! This year, be sure to treat yourself just the way you'd hope it upon anyone else to treat themselves! I think that's an overlooked resolution everyone could use some more of 🙂
I've been using the Ordinary Niacinamide 10% religiously for three months now and do see some fading of moles (pretty impressive :). However, it does not help with the red acne pigmentation which is actually what I'm most concerned with. I guess hyperpigmentation and post inflammatory erythema are different. Can I say post inflammatory erythema is more related to inflammation and blood vessel dilution while PIH is more associated with brown spots and melanin accumulation? Maybe anti-inflammatory ingredients like green tea or azelaic acid is more suited to treat red marks I assume? Thank you and look forward to your review on Ordinary. I think we will be sharing a lot of similar opinions ;)
YOu are the second or third person, i believe, who has noted good effects with the 10% niacinamide, so thanks for sharing that!! Your description of PIH versus erythema is good. Acne takes time to heal and the redness and discoloration are both sequelae of acne, that persist a bit longer than we would like, but can certainly improve with time.
Very informative. I’m using hydroquinone pads on my face consistently for over 6 months. My skin is brighter and I have less darkness. However I never knew I had to take a break from this. How long do you suggest I stop for? I hope I haven’t done anything negative to my skin 🙄
I used to love being able to use cassettes to record songs from radio. You just took me back! Ah, nostalgia. Wow! you're up to +8k subscribers! Good job! 👍
I absolutely remember cassette tapes! I also remember 8 tracks and records. lol In terms of brightening and fading dark spots from sun damage, I've used 15-20% vitamin C serums and have seen definite results. Especially the spots on my hands. It's quite remarkable really how much the spots have faded.
Shannon Graham yeah I think I am more jazzed about these things for giving a whirl to dark spit on the backs of the hand where the skin is less likely to get irritated by them. Thanks for sharing this Ms Shannon and hope you are having a great day
I had a few spots on my left hand that are now almost completely faded. The ones on my right were a bit darker but they've faded dramatically. I noticed it more there than I did on my face. Now that I'm older I'm also diligent about using sunscreen on my hands. I'd have never given that a second thought when I was younger.
Thanks for reviewing palmers and Ambi products.🤙🏾 I have tried Both Ambi and Palmers fading products but couldn’t continue more than three days as they contain hydroquinone which badly irritates my skin or maybe I am allergic to it. No luck with both of hem!
I had 3 IPL treatments followed by two chemical peels followed by 3 months Hydroquinone and this combination did lighten up my discoloration. However, the Hydroquinone as you said was very irritating to my skin. I am now using Skinmedica Lytera to try to keep the discoloration at bay. It seems to be working and is also much less irritating than the Hydroquinone was.
Well...I think I'm the oldest person replying--64! Grew up burning at the pool in the sun almost everyday. There was no sunscreen that my mom had heard of. Have many age/sun spots consequently. I have had some success using 4% hydroquinone but stopped to take a break. The spots seemed to appear darker. I will start up again. I have a dermatologist appt but couldn't get in until August! When I ask the dermatologist about the Obagi cream in the past he said it was ok to use.
Unfortunately, the kosher gelatin label does not mean it’s plant derived. I called Yoplait and they said their gelatin is not plant based and that the kosher label just meant that the animal was slaughtered following kosher guidelines. I also found this on a vegetarian resource website: “Gelatin derived from pig would not be considered kosher. Kosher gelatin is derived from kosher slaughtered and processed bovine sources or from kosher species of fish. Gelatin derived from fish is permitted in yogurt or other dairy foods according to most opinions."
You seem like such a cool chick! Your vlogs have been great lately. Your mom seems like such a great friend of yours as well. My guess is that your in your early 30's
My mom is my best friend. We are pretty cool chicks, but she is way cooler, lol. Thanks for your sweet comments and hope you are having a great week :_
I can't believe palmers has come out with a cleansing oil. I love their face oil and body oils and basically anything they make! This is on my list to buy today.
I use aha and bha's routinely as well as vitamin c l ascorbic acid /derivatives and Arbutun I get brightening/lightening from them all but my skin is not acne prone or very sensitive. I'm a skin care junkie lol
Was that Guns and Roses? I'd say 36-37 only for that reason. You don't look like you are near 40, but the tape and the song makes me think. Oh and tone it up is awesome! I'm a member . Good stuff!
Hi Dr. Dray, I just want to say I LOVE your videos. I have spent an embarressing amount of money on expensive skin care and since following you and your skin care advice my skin has seriously never looked better. So, THANK YOU! Have you ever used or done a review on the Juice Beauty stem cellular repair CC cream? I often use that paired with my Elta MD sunscreen and would love to know your thoughts on it. Thanks!!
I did watch your video on dark spots but I just read that spots from old acne are not PIH - they are post inflammatory erythema so the products you have mentioned are potentially ineffective. Can you please shed some light on it? From what I read, acne scars can be treated by Vitamin C (at least 20%) and niacinamide. I am using Vitamin C from Timeless and it has been maybe 6 weeks and I can't tell yet. I took a pic of a small dark spot (maybe sun damage) under my eye before I started using vitamin C but not sure if it helped yet.
Great question Ms Yuliya. Brown spots from old acne are PIH, whereas red spots represent healing acne spots...so yes they are different. Vitamin C serum is actually not a standard of care treatment for acne and represents a cosmeceutical with many limitations, as I have discussed in my vlogs. It can impart skin brightening effects, however. I suggest to you and emphasize in all of my videos that you seek evaluation and management by a health care professional to know for sure what exactly you are dealing with and what the best way to address your skin concern would be.
Dr Dray thanks for replying! I know those aren't standard treatments and frankly 1 acne scar doesn't bother me that much to go to a derm :). But I have started using vit C in the morning, BHA at night and suncreen and I have seen a huge improvement in texture. I don't know if it is one of those ingredients or all three...or maybe I am just imagining it :).
Yas!! I had cassettes and records, I’m a new subscriber and I think you’re so cute but I love your knowledge and thank you so much for informing us that can’t afford high priced skin care
Cassettes! It was 8 Tracks when I was a teen in the late '70's. I thought you were in your late 20's when I first started watching, then realized you must be older with your professional experience. I have used a Paula's Choice product with licorice. It provided a temporary brightening effect, but no lightening of age spots. I've also tried The Ordinary's alpha arbutrin and niacinimide, just one bottle of each. I saw no results with either. No luck with vitamin C serums either for age spots. The Aveeno and drugstore hydroquinone products have fragrance unfortunately. Although, I suppose hydroquinone stinks on its own! Not sure if it's accurate, but I read a review of the Aveeno that stated the brightening effect was due to mica in the product.
Another fun vlog! Thank you. I have been using the Aveeno moisturizer with SPF 30. I think it has softened the color of my age spots, but I find it lacking as a moisturizer. Was thinking of using the Hydroboost under it, but have been put off by the price. Any advice on hand care - washing and moisturizing ?
I left nature's bounty and went to some other multivitamin pills. BIG MISTAKE. I know take the woman's multivitamins with collagen and my skin is looking beautiful. I also added the powder neo cell collegen and my skin looks so full and beautiful especially my undereye area.
You are soo fun! Ok, I am one who is VERY curious of your age 😉 of course we know that you're 'supposed to' be able to guesstimate a person's age when looking at their hands, neck, crows feet, etc, but your skin in GORGEOUS! So after hearing the Tape Cassette story, which I literally lol'ed cuz I can relate, there's just no way! No way!
Well, for erasing facial brown spots on my fair skin, I had 2 laser treatments at the dermatologist ( by an R.N.) , followed by what you described as PIH. You recommended to NOT treat it with anything, let it rest, and they may fade. Well, I'm 6 weeks post-laser, and have been using just a mild facial oil or moisturizer, plus mineral sunscreen...none of my fancy serums and potions. And, believe it or not, I think they ARE starting to fade!! I couldn't believe how lucky I was to tune into your video that day!!!! I'll keep you posted on it's progress.
I think it depends on the cause of the discoloration as to how effective over the counter products are. Mine are from past sun damage. I grew up with a pool and my mom didn't put sunscreen on me. In her defense, I don't know if people really understood the effects of the sun then as much as they do now. I'm going to be 42 next month:-). Prescription hydroquinone works well for me. 2% hydroquinone doesn't phase my spots. I'm having a lot of luck with Paula's Choice 10% Niacinamide booster and Differin right now. The Niacinamide booster has some other things in it that can help lighten spots but I'm pretty sure it's the 10% concentration of Niacinamide that's giving me the results. I am curious about prescription Azaleic acid. I haven't tried it.
Thanks for sharing this Ms Michelle! Hydroquinone has the most data for these types of skin concerns, but there is some evidence that niacinamide can help too. I need to try out Paula's niacinamide booster sometime, thanks for cluing me in to this one! Hope you are having a great day. :)
I used the aveeno positively radiant a few years back and got very bad allergic contact dermatitis all over my face for about a week! I still wonder what ingredient might've caused it...
Girl! Still own most of my cassettes from my 80's childhood. :-). I would bet ur younger than me...but do u know they r making a comeback. See thru cassette player at Urban Outfitters in KCMO. OMG... I had to chuckle out loud. Have a great day!!
I read their reviews...not so good. Better shopping around. I still have my double tape deck stereo to play mine. Would love to copy to CD tho. Have a great Friday!
ty for all these videos..i thought i needed alot of different products for my self in the past but yr minimal products are amazing,,i think you are from the 80s..my fav erra
I also used the Aveeno positively radiant spf moisturizer. However, it contains oxybenzone and my dermatologist told me that there have been many studies about this particular ingredient and concluded that it may mimic hormones and disrupt the endocrine system. What are your thoughts? Can you possibly talk about this in your next video? Thanks!
I have talked about this in a q&a, but sunscreen ingredients have been around a long time. While there are some small laboratory studies to suggest this, we have no human data or reason to conclude that this observation is valid to humans applying these ingredients to the skin. If you are concerned thought...Zn/Ti based sunscreens are always a better sunscreen option regardless.
im no doctor BUT if you have medical insurance I suggest talking to a dermatologist about getting retin-A over using ambi. Ambi seemed to just bleach my face rather than even out skin tone like retin-A
I found a pretty awesome mixed tape of mine at my parents house a few months back! I just wish I had a cassette player to really definitively say that it's awesome 😜
I have seen good results with the aveeno dark spot cream. Should I apply sunscreen before this cream or on top of it? Thanks for the lovely channel and positive attitude. Greetings from Chile
Another good vlog Dr. Dray! I've tried the Aveeno Positively Radiant Soy Face Cream and it irritated my eyes- caused them to tear up. Really not sure why- no other face lotion has caused my eyes to water - maybe the soy ?? Hmmm Hope you are having a great day 😊
Ahhhhh...okay...I was wondering about your thoughts on oral supplementation of hyaluronic acid and now I see that you said there was no benefit. Thank you!
Going to Target is the equivalent of falling down the rabbit hole for me. I run in for one thing and come out with 10😑! I may try your cash-only technique... I laughed out loud at your cassette tape confession. I'm from the era of records and eight track tapes😂. Wish I had found your channel sooner; I would have saved SOOO much money. As far as brightening goes, I use a bit of baking soda in my regular cleanser and massage gently. I would like to hear your professional opinion on this; I have found it quite effective. Love your videos!
This is off topic, but you’re so cute! I also love your hairstyle/cut on you... looks really good. Thank you for the informative video... I’m in my early 30s & am experiencing some melasma & splotchy skin now, which isn’t fun. I’m doing my research & you’re videos help a lot! Also I had cassette tapes when I was young.... born in 84! You don’t look a day over 30 though!
Oh yes, the aveeno products are amazing. I have used the positively radiant products cuz Ibotta 😂 but I prefer to use the clear complexion line because I am in my 20's with acne prone skin /:
Yeah I like the sunscreen, but for folks sensitive to chemical sunscreens it is not a good choice. Need to check out the clear complexion line sometime.
I love your videos, they are very informative amd entertaining. I think the pixi glow tonic helps with brightening but after watching this, I want to try the ambi cream you mentioned
I remember using cassettes and record players 😱😱😱. I turned 40 this past Dec and am finally seeing my first few strands of gray hairs, I'm pretty excited about that, LOL!
Hi Dr. Dray! I use Ole Henrikson Invigorating Night Transformation Gel about twice a week and it makes my skin look brighter. I use retinol once or twice a week also (never in conjunction with the aforementioned product). I’m not sure if this is good or bad but my skin seems to think this is ok. Is it though? Or am I making a mistake in doing so in the long run?
Enjoyed....surprised by your review of Gyltone.I have been to Dermatologists & they recommend Glytone,I have researched their very informative website,I was thinking of purchasing their gentle wash with glycolic acid.Glycolic peel pads have improved my skin texture.I have been to Dermatologists & skin care specialists &for my sensitive Skin the LaRoche Posay Toleriane line is always recommended,I have used for years & love their products.also love AVENE.
Makeupkreations by Anna now "meant for aging skin" is just ridiculous...is that like a nursing home for the dermis? Lol! Love marketing nonsense. Bio oil is fine but no better than plain moisturizer. It lacks ceramides which everyone can be helped by in a routine moisturizer
Do cucumber slices actually work for puffiness and darkness around eye, if so how often and how long should we try it before seeing a difference?your cera ve moisturizing cream at night tip has worked like magic for me, ur advice is great!
Hey Dr Dray! I have a question I'm hoping you can answer :) I've got some dark spots on my face. some brown spots/almost freckle like in some spots, which i think are probs sun damage? because they've only come in the last few years and I just turned 25. Hoping to add something into my night routine. would you recommend aveeno's positively radiant cream with soy, or is something with hydroquinone more effective ( ambi cream)? or can I layer both nightly? Thanks in advance!! :)
So the downside to biotin is (if)you have upper lip hair it makes it grow faster as well as underarm &leg.. do you wax the upper lip(cz I have heard it's bad for the skin, although idk I believe it) your skin is so glowy❣ I'm headed towards my 30s so glad I found your channel(:
I remember cassettes.... and 8 tracks....and records.... lol rewinding the cassettes with your pinky or sometimes a pencil was a pain but nothing like the tape deck totally eating your tape 😩
@@DrDrayzday target has a brand that is interesting: Defy & Inspire
as an Aussie, it shocks me that children are not allowed to bring SPF to school! here, they won't let you out to play unless you put sunscreen and a hat on.
I know! It seems many states are changing the rule. Wish mandatory sun hats and shade were a part of our schools as well.
MrEmichan montbro
That's America. 😕
At the daycare I worked at we needed a signed copy stating it was ok to apply sunscreen & diaper rash creams 🙄
-"I'm going to look for a lamp"
-"Oh, look guys... Cocoa Butter Formula"
-Lol I'm pretty sure lamps are not the pharmacy section.
-"Oh candles"
-Getting warmer lol
"It can take about 12 years to become a dermatologist, including time spent as an undergraduate, in medical school, and in a residency". So-- I am guessing 18 plus 12 years.... 30 to 32 years old. You look so young, so there must be something to the sunscreen that you use each day and wearing hardly any make-up. I have enjoyed watching a dozen of your videos on skin care.
Thanks!
Am becoming addicted to these wonderful videos! So informative! Thank you so much.
Thank you so much Ms Pamela!!
Pamela Rogol me 2 so informative and entertainment
I use the Ambi Fade Cream as a spot remover. I suggest it for that only. I'm a light skinned black woman and my post acne scars range from wine colored to almost black. With Ambi I've seen results in as little as a week when used twice a day. I will also add that you HAVE to use it with a sunscreen in the morning!
Okay the sunscreen in schools thing is baffling to me. It's just sunscreen. I understand the regulations of drugs and labels and stuff but it's just sunscreen. Maybe it's just me but seems weird for this to be something schools have to monitor.
I would volunteer my time to schools to distribute sunscreen pre-recess each day, if that task existed!
Stores have to handle spf in a certain way also...Macys told me last year that they cannot sample foundations / lotions which have spf
Currently binge watching your videos. I love how they're very informative and let me know that most of the products I use now can be the reasons why certain things happen to my skin. Dr. Dray do you wear any kind of perfume? If so, can you make a video about the best brands based on their ingredients?
Would love to see a Marshalls/T.J. Maxx/Home Goods skincare walk through
Hey Dr Dray!
Thank you so much Ms Nicole! Good look with your masters program, that sounds awesome!
I don't know what it does for skin, but I do know that its a good source of vitamin c and beta carotene. have an amazing day!!
adti ashok salivating right now!!!
Those lamps go on clearance towards the end of the summer super cheap (like $4) once college kids go back to school. I bought one last year for my craft desk. Works great and does look better when on desk and filled with items.
Same wavelength as you dealin-diy-diva!!
Yup, I remember when it was a big deal we got a cassette deck in the car. I even remember 8-tracks!
I make my own cleansing oil. One part jojoba oil, one part castor oil, and one part either sweet almond oil or olive oil. Very easy, very effective.
Sounds like a good one!
friendoftherese1 does it matter which type of olive oil? Evoo?
tamara Wilson highly quality ones that are in either dark bottles or completely opaque
I remember Cassette tapes and using your finger to rewind. Haha
Looks like a good one!
Not sure if it’s been mentioned before or not, but, if you’re looking at a product with gelatine in it, look to see if there is a kosher label. If there is, then that gelatine is plant based, not from horse/cow hooves, therefore is ok for vegetarians. Not sure what the standard is for vegans.
thanks for sharing this! so handy to know :)
Agar agar or guar
I was not really a grunge kid but "Black Hole Sun" feels like it definitely has a spot on the soundtrack of my life.
roye joy I did sadly hear that 😟
I've finally admitted publicly to my age this year .. it's been freeing ... I'm 56 and I'll be be 57 in June. So any advice for have for mature skin... I'll cherish 😉
I've become a huge CeraVe fan since listening to you and almost everything I use it does have ceramides and niacinamide in it....❤️♥️
thanks so much! 56 is something to be proud of!!
Yes please. Skin care for women like me in my 50’s
Because of your recommendation, I too have switched to CereVe face wash and body cream
Thanks for sharing this !! alpha arbutin is one that i am interested in, and glad to hear the ordinary one is working well for you :_
Paula’s Choice Vitamin C (the older formula in the bottle dropper) made my skin appear brighter! Since you asked at the end of the video what we have tried. I love all of Paula’s Choice products especially her Resist SPF sunscreen. It wells wear under makeup and has just a slight skin colored tint to it.
thanks for sharing!
LOL
Thanks for sharing this here in the comments! Hope your day is fantastic!

Doc ur amazing , for taking the time to share. I think ur a bit addicted to the gym. Been there.
Mine is 2/3rds empty...no baked goods in sight, lol!!
Finally! I found someone who may be same as my age that i can relate about skin care ( the clue is about cassette!!!!!!).
Virginia Martinez 👍🏼 happy weekend
Hi Andrea
I enjoyed this video very much...i use Ambi, I don't use it consistently for any period of time..i find if I mix it with Trentinion, i do get better results...seems like the brownish spots are faded to a pinker tone..but hasn't completely eradicate them. I'm intrigued by the prescription Azelaic acid..what is it lcalled? Thanks, enjoy your weekend 😊
hey Dray 😄 I just came across your videos and I can already tell you're such a nice person, and I am going to enjoy your videos and find them informative😃
I wish you all the happiness and health in 2019!
Cassette tape OMG yes I remembered them 😱😱😱.u must be close to my age so I would say between 41and 45. 😎😎😎😎
CassieAfricanQueen thinking the same
I'm 31 and I used cassettes! The good ol' days 😁
The desk lamp you looked at is on sale for $12.99. I didn't by it because it only takes a 40 watt bob and my old eyes need brighter light.
Barbara Bird I wondered about the brightness
I used to love being able to use cassettes to record songs from radio. You just took me back! Ah, nostalgia. Wow! you're up to +8k subscribers! Good job! 👍
Yes who doesn't love a good "custom made mixed tape." Now it is just playlists, lol! Thanks for your support!
Dr. Dray - I am a new subscriber. Love your candor💕, humor, and immense knowledge 😊 Thank you -
I absolutely remember cassette tapes!
Thanks for sharing this Ms Sheila! Hope you are having a great day.
@@DrDrayzday funny how we are very similar except I chose pharmacy instead of dermatology.
There is a cream from Avon called Banishing Cream that I think helps face acne scars, it is inexpensive and works.
Julie Smith thanks for sharing Ms Julie! Hope you are having a great weekend
I've tried that. I did not see any improvement
You just brought me back in the cassette tape era! I love it!
Was that Guns and Roses? I'd say 36-37 only for that reason. You don't look like you are near 40, but the tape and the song makes me think. Oh and tone it up is awesome! I'm a member . Good stuff!
:) thanks!
Julia LaBrake I
Kevita is Water Kefir, an excellent probiotic. I started making my own with Kefir grains, SO easy. Have you thought about making your own?
obsessed with kevita and dying to make my own
You are soo fun! No way!
Every day ́s A good day you are sweet and gorgeous too 🌸
Well, for erasing facial brown spots on my fair skin, I had 2 laser treatments at the dermatologist ( by an R.N.) , followed by what you described as PIH.
Proud Momma yy
I love your hair in this video! I am binge watching you!
Thanks!
How do you think about Alpha plus cream .....i used it...its effective apparently.. please could you break down the ingredients
I used the aveeno positively radiant a few years back and got very bad allergic contact dermatitis all over my face for about a week! I still wonder what ingredient might've caused it...
Best to avoid for sure then!
Girl! Still own most of my cassettes from my 80's childhood. :-). I would bet ur younger than me...but do u know they r making a comeback. See thru cassette player at Urban Outfitters in KCMO. OMG... I had to chuckle out loud. Have a great day!!
lzrd929 I saw that, lol! Tempted to get that one, lol!
I read their reviews...not so good. Better shopping around. I still have my double tape deck stereo to play mine. Would love to copy to CD tho. Have a great Friday!
Your videos are so fun to watch ♡
Dr.Dray what do you think of Lysine for hair? Is it as beneficial as biotin ?
Thanks so much!! Biotin is what we usually recommend...there isn't much data for lysine
ty for all these videos..i thought i needed alot of different products for my self in the past but yr minimal products are amazing,,i think you are from the 80s..my fav erra
:)
Ambi seemed to just bleach my face rather than even out skin tone like retin-A
I love how you were calling out all the "benefits" those Olly products are saying they have. Amazing video as usual! xoxo
They look tasty though, lol!
Your videos are so informative. I love the way you make it interesting with your funny little comments and sayings!
ha ha i remember the tapes very well . You look very young so your skin care must be working :)))
lol! they take me back
I found a pretty awesome mixed tape of mine at my parents house a few months back! I just wish I had a cassette player to really definitively say that it's awesome 😜
I bet!! Miss them, and it makes me a little sad that cars don't have them anymore (or CD players for that matter).
Hmmm Hope you are having a great day 😊
Yeah I bet it was the sunscreen containing one as this, unfortunately, is a chemical sunscreen which is pretty irritating around the eyes
Talking about eye tearing up im having that now I put on origin eye serum and neutrogena hydro boost eye cream
Love your videos!
the diy baking soda masks are a bad idea
Dr Dray Gotcha! I'm taking them off my list.
I love listening to her! She gives so much good information. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
thanks for watching
I'm 36 and I used cassette tapes when I was a younger child.😊
Sorry I meant to reply to someone else😬
This is off topic, but you’re so cute! I also love your hairstyle/cut on you... looks really good. Thank you for the informative video... I’m in my early 30s & am experiencing some melasma & splotchy skin now, which isn’t fun. I’m doing my research & you’re videos help a lot! Also I had cassette tapes when I was young.... born in 84! You don’t look a day over 30 though!
Thanks :)
You are Goals!!!! Meaning perfect and so was the oatmeal. Love to see more oatmeal recipes ideas
I love your videos, they are very informative amd entertaining. I think the pixi glow tonic helps with brightening but after watching this, I want to try the ambi cream you mentioned
Thanks! Not a fan of that glo tonic
I remember using cassettes and record players 😱😱😱. I turned 40 this past Dec and am finally seeing my first few strands of gray hairs, I'm pretty excited about that, LOL!
VHS too :)
Dr Dray - yes! I tested my kids to see what they would do with a VHS (my mom has her's still) and they were so lost 😂🤣😅😆
Hi Dr.
I'm right there with you with eating the chocolate chips right out of the bag, lol. I love dark chocolate anything 😋
Enjoyed....surprised by your review of Gyltone.I have been to Dermatologists & they recommend Glytone,I have researched their very informative website,I was thinking of purchasing their gentle wash with glycolic acid.Glycolic peel pads have improved my skin texture.I have been to Dermatologists & skin care specialists &for my sensitive Skin the LaRoche Posay Toleriane line is always recommended,I have used for years & love their products.also love AVENE.
thanks for sharing
Love your videos! What are your thoughts on bio-oil? it's meant for aging skin, fading scars, uneven skin and hydration. Thank you 😊
Makeupkreations by Anna now "meant for aging skin" is just ridiculous...is that like a nursing home for the dermis? Lol! Love marketing nonsense. Bio oil is fine but no better than plain moisturizer. It lacks ceramides which everyone can be helped by in a routine moisturizer
Do cucumber slices actually work for puffiness and darkness around eye, if so how often and how long should we try it before seeing a difference?your cera ve moisturizing cream at night tip has worked like magic for me, ur advice is great!
somewhat
Hey Dr Dray! I have a question I'm hoping you can answer :) I've got some dark spots on my face. some brown spots/almost freckle like in some spots, which i think are probs sun damage? because they've only come in the last few years and I just turned 25. Hoping to add something into my night routine. would you recommend aveeno's positively radiant cream with soy, or is something with hydroquinone more effective ( ambi cream)? or can I layer both nightly? Thanks in advance!! :)
That Ambi cream cause me break out and I don't even prone to acne 😳
yeah it is irritating for sure
So the downside to biotin is (if)you have upper lip hair it makes it grow faster as well as underarm &leg.. do you wax the upper lip(cz I have heard it's bad for the skin, although idk I believe it) your skin is so glowy❣ I'm headed towards my 30s so glad I found your channel(:
i don't wax anymore
Riced cauliflower in my oatmeal... have to try it
Love your videos ❤
I remember cassettes.... and 8 tracks....and records.... lol rewinding the cassettes with your pinky or sometimes a pencil was a pain but nothing like the tape deck totally eating your tape 😩
Yes!! the pinky rewind!!
