- Hello everyone, this is a mod called Galactic Contention for a game called Squad. Squad can be found in the steam store and Galactic Contention can be found in Squad's Steam workshop. I hope you have a wonderful day

Man, the Star Wars games we could have had...
If this weren’t a mod, it’d be monetized to hell and back.
If this was polished with DICE artists and engine it would be one of the most played games right now.
It goes to show how piss poor Disney fails to understand the market of this game. I still have the true battlefront games. Here’s why they were fun the game had an identity. They ran with an amazing system with vehicles, fighters and infantry that Star Wars fans can connect with. But they failed it. If those games were to be remastered they would give them so much money.
It honestly amazes me how this is a mod for a game thats not got anything to do with star wars, yet its better than Majority of most of the games EA pulled out of no where, so much potential.
I was absolutely caught off guard too Sully. Lol I love Squad but when I explored the mods it has, I was amazed how many different experiences you can play. I've played Galactic Contention (Star wars), a Starship troopers mod and a zombie one. I have heard about a Halo one popping up too and maybe even a standalone Warhammer 40k one in the works. @@HumbledSonGaming ye Iv played like round at my friends house the original og battlefront and they were brill tbh but games nowadays just don’t have that same sorta feeling, it’s probably about of growing up like you find interest in other things rather than games but Star Wars has always been a thing for me, I’m definitely gonna have to check out this mod for squad bc I love my mil syms but it’d be so sick to have that Star Wars environment, I hope some game studios realise what the fans actually want rather than them just suiting it to there liking. But like with ea now they have pretty much sacked the entire team who made BF what it is today, since 2042 tho my hopes have just gone down the drain, I expect nothing from them.
It’s like fifa to, same game every year not to sh.** on anyone but cmon there’s like 30 fifa games out there.

Crazy what a little bit of passion and a lot of freedom can do for developers. It's almost as if these shithead companies should just let the painters paint, instead of telling them the colors are wrong.

This looks fucking crazy fun, there’s a lackluster of open battfield games nowadays. Bf2042 robbed us all of the battlefield experience 😞

@@thejesterbox4096 my PC sometimes stutter playing a 2002 rts game and refuse to play Valorant and that F2P Gundam-Overwatch.
It's not a terrible PC for many things, but it's clearly not meant for modern gaming.
Tldr my standard is pretty low

i feel like this would be cooler if you couldnt aim. all star wars fights are in pretty close. thats to me the only thing stopping this mod
No, thats a just a step back as far as game mechanics go. Plus it wouldn't work with this game and the typical ranges fights take place

@@sadchild9478 well im not saying it would be a better game im saying it would be more accurate to actual star wars. They made star wars warfare to represent early WW1/2 trench warfare so fights at these great distances make no sense in the star wars context. if you watch star wars/ clone wars or any other show that represents star wars warfare you'll notice they dont aim, are usually very very close up and miss almost all shots.
