Been trying to find the roamers on crystal for a week... Tried mahogany. Tried ecruteak. Did the one for finding a roamer for the first time in violet city and popped within 2 cycles. Take my like and comment and subscribe you glorious bastard.

You don’t actually need mean look, there is another way, spinarak and ariados learn spider web, which is a special move that only they have. It causes the same thing as mean look.
Basically, there are more pokemon that can prevent a pokemon from fleeing, but don’t have mean look. They are also very easy to find too, the only downside is that you need to level it up a bit to get it.

for catching the roamers i just recommend duplicating master balls and then you are done with it
Might as well just write their name on a piece of paper and say you have them , what is the point of just getting them for free and not using any effort . When I buy a game , I look for a way to get cheats to automatically put me at the end credits , it’s the easiest method “

So I have to encounter the rumor as a shiny when I enter in the burnt tower, or it will never be shiny in the beginning of the game?
so if i release entei and raikou in pokèmon Crystal i can get all 3 shiny. the only thing to do is to get both shinies at the first encounter.
suicune is ok,but if i encounter a shiny entei then i just have to save and restet until i get raikou shiny too, right?

Does using Sweet Scent to catch one of the Roamers work? or is it a hindrance?
@Shiny Ghosthunter Richie Yeah, I've been doing some experimenting on my my 3DS in the days since I asked that and the Roamer jumped back to New Bark Town.
I've been following your guide and caught all of the roamers with no glitches on 3DS Virtual Console in about 4 hours! I was even able to manipulate Suicune and Raikou to the same route! Now that I have my Gold cart repaired and a new battery in, I'll try it out on the original hardware.

I have 1 question, why can't I just save on the route where they are, before encounter them, and then soft reset until one is shiny?

This is impossible... They randomise when you soft-reset.

Can’t you also register them with the PC duplication glitch? I did that with celebi, so I could catch it and still have the GS ball to shiny hunt it. Couldn’t you do the same to catch entei but the game still thinks you didn’t? You know, the glitch where you save the game but turn it off partway through
Just traded over Entei and Raikou over toy crystal gonna attempt this hunt soon. Once I get my Charmander to shine I'll be hunting me some beast

So just to be clear, the shiny is determined on the first wild grass encounter? Not when they are released from the burned tower?
Edit: but in HGSS their shininess is determined at the tower?

Question, if I track down a roamer to a route and I’m playing on an emulator, would I be able to use save states to keep resetting if the roamer isn’t shiny?

Hi this is a very useful tutorial for how to legitimately get the roamers but for those of us who don't have another gameboy or ds and extra copy of gold or silver to get those legit Master balls, ern I was just wondering how would you go about doing this with a gameshark exploit to get the roamers entei and raikou shiny on a crystal cartridge?

A easer way is just clone your Pokémon with the masterball and just catch it first try when it’s shiny

What is the strategy after you’ve caught one after releasing them?? I can’t find the other two to register in my Pokédex and not sure if I should keep sticking to the grass south of Ecrutek city?

Head to the non-dex method & use the Gatehouse, Route 38 & Soft-resets
@@HangarOfRoam this worked for me!! I caught all three dogs now and want to hunt shiny Entei, but his area isn’t shown in my dex, is there a way of revealing that?? Or do I need to find him again?
If the shininess of the roamer is determined upon first encounter then what do u do if it’s not shiny cause if it’s not shiny the first time then everytime you run into it it will not be shiny ever
Restart the game & reload the save. This way you can encounter the roamer for the first time again.

Exactly! A common misconception popularised by later games.
There is a limit to my shiny hunting and roamars, especially in older gen, is a big no no for me. It took me hours just to encounter one in the VC games, let alone try to shiny hunt them.
It may well be a no... It's not for everyone, but I think most can find value in it. However, you are in fact looking at the old video.

Does the pokémon march work with sweet scent ?
Unfortunately you can't sweet scent these because repels don't work at that point, so you're better off forgetting sweet scent.

Common misconception, but we have around 5 different unique methods published on youtube for these alone. Plus a whole host more we never published. If you check the pinned comment, you will see a link to the updated tutorial video. In that video look for the non-pokedex rt.38 method. Thats the quickest way to find them with no pokedex entry.

Why does your abra have to be in front, and why does it have to be KO'd?
The Abra is at the front for easy menuing. You want quick access to Teleport.
Assuming you don't have a high-level Abra/Kadabra you won't want to Repel off of it. This is why it is KO'd.
Also: this video is somewhat out of date. A new & improved one is on the way, but a lot of this info is still relevant. Keep an eye out over the coming weeks.

You can do it off of the release without the dex. I demonstrate this at 10:52
HangarOfRoam also do we need to play till blackthorn or optional? Since im on crystal and cant skip the tower
@@Epi689 Optional. You only need to play as far as route 44 opening up, which I think has happened by then. It just gives you access to Max Repels (which are nicer) & restores Pokemon March.

I assume you know the tip about catching the Roamers to reduce the cutscene? Catching them cuts the reset time by removing that animation.
