Question! When repeating row 2 for completing rows 3+, is the 1 hdc always into the first row? So for rows 3,4,5, etc, the hdc is still into the first row, or the one below it? Thank you for the tutorial!

Your video really helps me a lot as a beginner in crochet, I want to ask if every time I crochet, is it necessary to pull the uh..the crochet to make sure it's secure?, I don't know how to say it but everytime I make a chain I will pull the yarn and make sure the chain is tight and I wonder if that's the right thing to do or not, can you explain it to me please
For me I would like it to be a bit more tightly crochet - the chain 3 between rows seems like too much of a distance to me - Could I Chain 2 instead of 3 or would that not work? :)

Mine has not crocheted flat like yours, its twisting. What am I doing wrong.
for me, the row twisting doesn’t matter, when it gets longer it eventually flatten
Release the tension in the foundation chain.....it flattens out.
