    Thanks. FYI: I also made this solution, and applied it to my car windows the night before the freezer weather was to come, and the windows were clear of snow and ice. I was amazed. Therefore, I continued applying it each night, and got the same results...No ice or snow on windows when I went outside the next morning. It truly works people. Thanks again for sharing the video.

    I live in an area that doesn't get much frost. My windshield was frozen over a few mornings ago and I remembered that I made your recipe a few years ago. Found the spray bottle in the garage and used it. The solution worked just like it did the last time I used it a couple of years ago. Thanks!

    Additional tip I would give is to not use a spay bottle as after some time you get tired of the small area and pressing the leaver. There are bottle that you can hand pump to build pressure. After that you can spray the whole windshield in one go.

    Next time, could you do a half-n-half to show the difference, scraping to show the depth of the ice and snow this is removing... Otherwise it just looks like either a miracle, or soft snow being pushed away, like jam on ceramic and a cloth with spray made to look like a miracle when it's not close. Also, can address the issues of "drying" wiper blades and messing with seals. lastly *I promise*... Maybe compare the cost of your concoction and retail de-icer. (One last thing, some people will worry about spraying a mixture which includes a highly flammable liquid next to their engine bay) ta, Dave

    I add a small amount of rubbing alcohol to my windshield washer fluid in winter only, and it works like a charm, however, alcohol can damage the rubber on wiper blades, so I limit the amount and only do this in the winter as needed.

      @@TimScottDT I recently bought windshield wiper sleeves they slide right over the blades and are made of some sort of waterproof material...the worked well! I put in about 1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol but you can experiment to see what works, you can also use a spray bottle of water and alcohol. and spray it on your windshield and its handy for the back window if there are no wipers there.
      If you change your wiper blades after winter is over and into Spring anyway who cares about the alcohol effects on rubber wipers. just wipe off seals around the window with water or run your car through a car wash frequently.

      Windscreen is what the Brits call their windshields

    • @jackt6112
      @jackt6112 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Screen and shield can have the same meaning. From Webster:
      screen
      noun: ...something that shelters, protects, or hides (a window screen protects from insects)
      verb: ...to guard from injury or danger
      A screen pass is a play in gridiron football (as opposed to soccer football) is a short pass to a receiver protected by a screen of defensive linemen.
      Military pilot from U.S.: On aircraft in the U.S., with the U.S. being the one to name it as such, it is called a windscreen, even though for vehicles, it has been named the windshield. In the U.K. they use the windscreen for both. It would make more sense to use the same for both, with windshield being the most logical choice since screen is more subject to multiple meanings.
      In the U.S. we lift the hood to access the engine compartment, like the flip-up hood on a jacket. In the U.K. they call it the bonnet, which is less descriptive of the physical design.

      Yes, you can pour rubbing alcohol in your windshield washer reserve tank. I do this, when winter weather rears it's ugly head. Once winter passes and spring sets in, just use regular windshield washer fluid, you'll be fine. Only use this for the front window of your car, while letting the car warm up and run. Once warmed up, then while driving your defroster will thaw out your side windows, etc.

    • @ZRKREVIEWS
      @ZRKREVIEWS  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      for example if you have a bottle, 1 third of the bottle will be water, 2 thirds will be rubbing alcohol (third = maximum) ml = depends on your spray bottle, so basically the rubbing alcohol should be twice as greater than water.

      Why not use a waterproof car cover over your car if its outside? It may really save you from scraping and other issues. You just remove it after the storm and you have a nice clean car under that cover

      geoffrey calligan because a little chemicals and alot of water won't make a big reaction. Alot of chemicals and a little water may make a huge uncontrolled reaction. It's not really a problem with ipa and water but it's a good rule of thumb anyway.

      Well if we are going to use flame why not a couple of tealights or votive candle? Granted it will take some time to warm up the inside of the car down on the floor.. but it will work given time..If you know ahead of time that you are going to go out just light the candle a couple of hours beforehand and then scrape off the ice if need be. UCO makes a lantern that will generate 5000 BTUs.. any simple candle application will accomplish the same effect

    Running your car for 10 minutes in the morning is using next to no fuel. Hardly draining it.

    • @aig0039
      @aig0039 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Idling the car in the cold is a bad thing. Because the engine is running cold for longer than if you drive it. Also, the engine oil can be dilluted because when cold, the engine its running rich. Usually, first I defrost all the windows, start the car, wait 20 seconds for oil pressure to build up and drive. For newer cars with particulate filters and adblue is very bad to idle in the morning for 10 minute X 4 months
