I don't know why game companies think that we are all made of money and shit $1000 dollar bills out of our asses. Please understand that we have a life, game companies! We aren't all as rich as you are. Video games used to be what we used to relieve stress and have fun because it was affordable. Nowadays, we can barely get by putting food on the table just because the game companies keep demanding more and more from us and they just get worse and worse, because they know they can cut out content from the game to force us to pre-order just to get the whole game!!! Back in the good ol' days we got the full game for a fair price and could unlock all the stuff just by playing it. Now they are cutting the games into pieces to make DLCs that you have to purchase individually in order to get the full thing. What ever happened?! Stop this shit, game companies! You think you can take advantage of us, but some day its all going to fire back on you!!!
Video games are getting bigger and better all the time, and that means higher production costs. It costs a whole lot to make a AAA game these days, and $60 just isn't enough for the developers after everyone takes their cut (publishers, platform, retailers, etc). That's why DLC and everything is so common these days, they often need that extra money. If consumers were willing to pay more than $60 upfront there would probably be less DLC & microtransactions.

You americans are lucky.$60 for a average game is awesome compared to were im from (New Zealand). Here games that are released are around NZD$100-120 which is about US$90-100.

Game can be expensive but there not the most expensive place to gets games that honor goes to hmv and argos but game does have some random good deals like a month ago I think they were just randomly selling alien isolation Ripley edition for £25 on ps4 that's not bad and I generally get games when they have been out a while there because u can get them pre owned on ps4 for £25 to £30 a while ago they had killzone shadow fall for about £12 so it's best to wait for there random deals and pre owned games
