rafael502 Because for some reason, we, the gamestop employees, get personal bad numbers if we are the ones to do the transaction with the cancel, and it really sucks because it makes us look bad. Its not the customer's fault, we are just upset because it hurts our numbers, I really wish corporate would understand that we cant force people to keep their pre-orders. We are always going to be nervous about canceling pre-orders, its not something you're doing wrong. When a customer walks up saying they want to cancel, I just feel my entire day is going to suck unless I can get another pre-order to balance out the negative. You have no idea how much it matters.
Kat dolphinwhat What's funny is that as a former GameStop employee myself, they told us around 2007 or so that they were going to put less of an emphasis/importance on reservations and I think subscriptions to GI, yet her we are in 2015 and it's exactly the same. It's sad really.
Well, I bought it in 2014, not at the game's actual release date. Though, tell me. How IS the game? I haven't played it, yet. But, judging from context, I assume it's bad.
I don't understand why people pre-order at all. I've NEVER had any issue finding a copy of any game on release day. Worst case scenario, I have to go to two stores.
the problem is not if you can't find a copy. the problem is that devs cut off content from the base game and they add it in the pre-order edition/DLC/season pass or whatever. if you don't pre-order, you won't get XX mission, XX skins, XX weapons, etc etc etc. some times it's whole modes like zombie mode etc that are cut off, and if you don't pre-order you can't have the mode
It depends on the game and where you live. The last game I know that sold out is GTA 5, but pre orders use to be to guarantee to get the game, now it is to get certain items that usually you had to beat the game to get, ect.
Maybe you should switch to PC games. I got GTA V on Steam. They NEVER run out of copies, I don't have to switch disks, I can add mods, the graphics are WAY better and the community is larger. Oh, and my PC cost less that a new console and does a whole lot more.
Dave Kane To build a good gaming PC, you have to dump in a lot more money compared to a console and you have to upgrade your parts ever so often to have it in the best condition. It's way more expensive to maintain a PC then a console
used to work at GameStop...employee performance are based on getting pre-orders, and if you cancel one it is like losing one of the pre-orders they obtained from another customer. Its not really a good way to judge an employee, but they can do what they want.
Manny Piñeiro and others, if gamestop treats their employees so badly, theres a place called the bar commission that can put a stop to all that, otherwise why work there? find a better job, im sure you can do better than gamestop. hell McDonald's is better.
Joseph Reese No, McDonald's is horrible. I've worked there for 4 months and got done wrong because of sorry management. The managers were in their 20's (their maturity sucked ass, which is not even a bit ironic. More to be expected than anything), they always send me to do everyone's else job when I'm currently on my own job (they must think that I'm fucking Quick Silver), and not only that; they terminated me over a freaking lie about me not washing the damn dishes. Someone on the shift before mines didn't even bother washing any dishes, so I had to washed the dishes while they're already in the sink, plus they kept bringing the dishes to me. It wasn't even five mins til I had to relieved one of my co-workers to be on break, so I had to take his place til he comes back. Mind you it's a nightshift and there was only me and two other guys in the back for the whole shift. The caddy immature manager had decided to be a bitch by saying to another manager that I didn't even washed the dishes. I knew she seen me washing the dishes because she kept walking back and forth watching me like a moth being attracted to light. So in the end, it was the manager's word over mine and I got terminated. So no, I'm Not Lovin' It. But at least I don't have have to worry about that shady place ever again. I'm already hearing rumors that other good workers are at arming to get written up now as well.
Avery Glover Sounds to me like once again, this is something able to be proven ( video of you doing dishes) all mcy ds have surveillance. So contact corporate, or the bar commission stating wrongful termination, have footage of that night pulled and they will be given a choice to give you your job back or pay lost wages till you get back to work. My wife worked for a mcdonalds years ago and was terminated for theft because another worker used her drawer, she used my aforementioned approach and viola' they found footage of the other employee taking the money. They were given a choice to rehire or pay her, she got paid up to the very day she found a new job. If you research an learn about your rights almost no wrong action from an employer can touch you without repercussion to the company.
I'm starting to really hate watching kids with super disorganized thought processes try to share something with the world. The issue is everyone on TH-cam these days seems to be in the same boat. Is this truly what kids are like these days? I'm not THAT old, hell.. we're fucked..
When I was looking for amiibos at game stop I asked if they had any little macs in the back , they say they don't and as soon as I turn around and start walking away I hear the two of them talking about the little mac they are saving for when they get off work
ProjectExodos you have the right to do a lot of stupid things, doesn't make them less stupid. simply saying no saves time, theres no point in explaining how you have one that you can't sell to the customer. just say that you don't have any available.
When worked there preorders were super important its part of the reason I left. It wasnt really hard to do but it reflected bad on you if someone canceled a preorder and you got it trouble. I hated that.
How pathetic.I had a friend before go in and spend 60 dollars to buy a brand new copy of Call of Duty: Black ops 2. HE walked outside the store (they watched him do this), he pulled the plastic off of the game, walked back in, asked how much they would give him for a trade in, and the offered him $10. Pathetic excuse for a company
Even if canceling pre-orders affects the employee they shouldn't take it out on the customer. They should just do their job and talk to the manager about the policy or get a different job.
Exactly. Gamestop has horrible policies that their employees are forced to comply with if they want a paycheck. But don't take your anger out on the kid who just wants to play a video game.
Fuck GameStop. Probably the single worst thing about the game industry currently. Stop pre-ordering! It's the reason we now buy sectioned off games instead of full games.
yes! exactly. just like that bullshit dlc for mortal kombat x. so I'm suppose to pay extra money aside from the 60 I already paid just to get 4 more characters? fuck you! pre orders keep ruIning good games. & while we're on the subject, I'm fine paying 60 for a disc copy of a game, but if I purchase it digitally why the fuck am I still paying 60$
Tigerscar Lol, it's not hard to look it up, and it's not hard to make the connection yourself. GameStop pays these publishers money to incentivize GameStop preorders by offering "extra content". If you don't understand that this "extra content" is truthfully restricted content, then you are the type of consumer that make corrupt companies drool. Scumbag publisher have review embargos (hold reviews until after release), and stupid ass consumers preorder a product in an unfinished state. People like you are to blame for why these despicable practices are commonplace in the game industry.
Ok so here's the deal. Former GameStop employee here. Here's why GameStop employees hate cancelling pre-orders. Back in the day, (I've been told the system is way different now) your employment with the company was based on 2 things: Positive numbers and negative numbers. When you get a pre-order or a power up sign up, it's positive numbers for you, and when someone cancels a pre-order, it's a negative number for you. The company had a really bad habit of focusing on the negative numbers, despite how many positive numbers you get. The reason I got fired was because, even though I had more pre-orders and sign ups than any other Game Advisor in the store, some guy came in at one point and cancelled 12 pre-orders all at once because he was moving, which put all of those negative numbers on me. District managers really didn't like that. So when you used to cancel a pre-order, you were basically hurting the employee's job. From what I'm told now, the system is different. They got rid of negative numbers because they were bullshit. Now, cancelling a pre-order just cancels the positive number for the employee who originally took the pre-order, it doesn't do anything for the person cancelling.
CamSandwich ugh really? Are they at least more balanced now? like "Well damn, he got a couple games cancelled, but hey he got 5 pre-orders and 3 signups, so he's okay"
SquishyTheTitan negative lol. honestly they're pressing harder than ever before. They're micromanaging like maniacs AND if we don't make quota on reserves, warranties, trade percentage (items coming in for trade) and Cricket wireless sales, we receive less hours to be allocated. one coaching is received and if improvement doesn't show within two weeks, termination.
HighSkiez Never said they did that. I'm saying that the general public doesn't know that little fact. I'm not by any means saying that customers cancel out of spite or to intentionally hurt an employee
I had a friend who was a manager at a GameStop and he always asked me to preorder games. I never picked the games up because they were either cheaper at the PX or released on an earlier date. When my friend changed store locations I decided to get my money back ($235) of preorders. They were trying their best to convince me not to do it. I felt like I was in a timeshare seminar. At the end I did get my money back, after speaking to a store clerk, who had me talk to his manager, then a regional manager, etc.
A tooon of little things like cases, marketing posters, and so on. It was a lot. The best thing I found in any dumpster was a sealed iPad in a Staples dumpster. Sold in on eBay for $400.
not really pre ordering a game does not actually kill the game quality..... it really does fuck all.... all pre ordering does is secure your copy of the game and helps the stores stock quantity :S the company is not going to look at all the pre orders and go oh lets change the game for these people.....
Actually it does you should read more about pre orders and how it effects development of games and the gaming industry period. It also pro motes shady practices like taking content out of game to give to pre order customers only initially at launch as an incentive and others having to wait in hopes that they will have access to same down the road it also is part of why nowadays we get more broken and unfinished games at launch because they know they can because they already got their money because of preorders.
i have read it up and they do track pre orders of course but it will affect no gameplay at all... just look at call of duty even if they had no pre orders it will still be the same gameplay ! and still release it! just because they have a load of pre orders its not going to change nothing for the game...
they're pulling big chunks out in order to offer it as pre-order content. And look at call of duty... Broken on day1, as long as the pre-order numbers are good, they don't care whether it works or not, because they've got a crap-tonne of money flowing in already, so there's no pressure to make it work on release (no need to pay overtime if it's borked, can be fixed during office hours).
I refuse to give Gamestop anymore business. The last time I preordered a game was for GTA 5. The night that the game was released, I headed to my local store to pick up my copy and observed a huge crowd of people gathered around the sidewalk, wrapped around each side of the building. There were two lines: line A and line B, formed on either side of the entrance. Unfortunately, I had to wait in BOTH lines for some reason. I got to the front of the first line, guy takes a look at my receipt and tells me to get in the other line. Dafuq? Now keep in mind that my preorder was paid in FULL. I finally got inside to pick up my game and that's when things get weird. Guy at the counter then asks for the payment card that I used to preorder the game. I then asked why? You've already confirmed my identity and I have my receipt in hand? The guy responds "I have to finalize the sale." So let me get this straight. I pay, in FULL, for a preorder months in advance. I have a receipt that states that the game is paid for. I can trace back my bank statements showing that the transaction occurred on the day I preordered it. Why in the holy HELL do you have to swipe my bank card AGAIN? Sounds a little shady if you ask me. Thankfully, there were no shenanigans with my card. Needless to say, I booked it out of there the moment I had my game in hand. Don't preorder from Gamestop. In fact, don't shop at Gamestop. I could go on and on about all the other shady things that former employees and managers have revealed about that company.
***** Not sure if you've mastered the art of sarcasm yet, but I felt a very distinct "GO FUCK YOURSELF" from that statement. If you don't like what I've got to say about my OWN personal experience with that Evil company, then I've got two fingers for you right here buddy! Oh, and in case you can't quite read between the lines, I'm flipping you off right now.
They will sell your preorder if you're not there fast enough. I think within 24 hours is your best bet but even at that, if someone else wants it, they'll sell it to them and you'll be SOL
Yeah GameStop is known for that stuff I gave them Evil May Cry 4, Wall-E, Resistant Evil 4, God of War and MW3 this was when these games were new like 3 years agoish and they gave me 20$ for all of them combined
I bought a ps3 and when I got home i found out that my cousin also bought one for me for my birthday and went in the next day to return it (unopened and like untouched didn't even take it out of my car lol) they said they'll give me $149 when I got it for 299$) Moral of the story never buy things from gamestop
I cancelled battlefield hardline deluxe edition and got the look of death from the gamestop employee, then I explained that I was on a budget because I have a kid so I had to go for cheaper games then the look of death disappeared.
Gamestop was the best place when they opened to places, but after a year they started making these stupid policy changes and most employees are like they don't care or they are just nerds and really try to get you to buy something or think its real cool!!! They suck
Yea I really don't get their hiring mentality, they don't hire gamers or even people who are easy to talk to... it's mostly super fanboy kind of people who wouldn't know a classic game if it hit them in the face over and over again.
***** Yea I don't mean to lay down a blanket statement and imply ALL employees of ALL GS stores are terrible, I'm just going off the experience of the few stores around here that I've been to. The people only know about the biggest blockbuster games and they are very unpleasant to deal with or speak to. Obviously sales is the end game in any of these retailer situations, but I've worked retail before, and having human discussion with the customer goes a long way toward satisfaction and further purchases. It's obvious they just want you to buy something and get the hell out at GS.
I gotta agree, the only employees my local gamestop that plays anything besides Halo or sports games are this guy and this girl, the girl is pretty cool, made some good suggestions, but the guy flipped his lid when I told him that I thought poison type pokemon were pretty cool all because the meta makes them weak apparently and they don't deal enough damage and apparently I'm not a true fan even though I've played pokemon since before he was out of diapers.
It's because their pre-order numbers are very important to upper management. It's one of those things that help them keep their job. I hate Gamestop as a company. I know a lot of good dudes that work there, but it sucks. It treats consumers like garbage.
it's just cause their jobs basically depend on selling those pre-orders. I guess some employees get (rightfully) upset with corporate for having crap policies, and some get mad at the customer for screwing up their quota.
I bought a preowned game with a 2nd disc with all the downloaded content. so I downloaded it and took the game back and bought the cheaper version...gotta fight bullshit with bullshit :)
If I'm understanding correctly, you are losing money. It's a great strategy, but it sounds like you're losing money. What o usually do, is go to my local library, find the deluxe edition or whatever, and download the extra content and pay like 10 bucks for the game itself. I did that with borderlands 2
+GregDoesGaming, it surly depends on the game and the amount of dlc there is. I paid 24 or something for the game and all the dlc and then took it back and bought the standard version for 13. there was about $30 worth of actual gameplay dlc. not including the 15+ outfits/cars/whatever that cost $1 - $3 each.
+Heero yuy, No. it's not a code. it's a disc that has the dlc. it's for special editions of games the the disc comes with...can be used as many times as one wishes. Plus the 99% of used games that come with codes are already used.
YEAH i did that with skyrim lengendary lol I bought legendary. downloaded the dlc on my xbox returned it with receipt and changed it to a normal skyrim version and got the rest of my money back lol.
I used to be a manager of the GameStop in a mall down here in the DFW area of Texas. The company is big on "reserves"(pre-orders) and subs(subscription to their Game Informer magazine). Each store/manager is held accountable to have high numbers every week in those 2 areas. If the store as a whole do not have sufficient numbers for each, the District Manager puts a huge amount of pressure on those stores and refers to them as a lower performing store. So that's the real reason they try like hell to get you to not cancel your pre-orders lol.
I cancel preorders there all the time, I sometimes preorder a game just for the bonus content (I.e. Cod advanced warfare to get the Destiny armor color) then cancel it and put the money on another game later. The store there is totally cool with me doing it. And honestly the 6 bucks you save isn't that big of a deal, I suppose if you prefer it being delivered to your home it's worth it, but I wouldn't can an existing preorder I had ocer a small savings like that. And nowadays, amazon actually taxes in a lot of states, due to having locations in multiple states, I actually live in one of the few states that Amazon doesn't have any physical presense in.
***** I wouldn't go so far as to decide for anyone who decides to get a job there who and what they are as a person. That is not our prerogative, and anyone who does so acts foolishly. Its perfectly reasonable that people who like the Gaming Scene might decide to work in a Gamestop because they like videogames.
TheWalkingFlimbo He represents it in a professional sense, but his actions alone don't reflect the stance of the company or how they treat their customers. You know exactly what I mean. ;)
I know right? Why should you have to justify your choices regarding your own purchases to anyone... You don't sign a contract when you pre-order a game, so you're not bound to stick by it at all
Genreguru I'm not sure why everyone has a problem with canceling a preorder. I've cancelled many over the years at multiple stores. They have never asked why, they just refund the money.
I had Dying Light for the Xbox 360 Pre-ordered (and paid in full) since Day one they were taking pre-orders somewhere around February last year I think. Never got a call or anything when they canceled the Game for the 360. Found out about a week before it's release date and went in with this extremely faded receipt (At the store I bought it from.) They tried everything possible to say it wasn't their responsibility to notify me and damn near refused to give me my money back. I spent almost 2 hours of them trying "Everything they could", to find the info in their system. Finally decides to scan my rewards card (Which had been on the counter the whole time.) So he then has the rocket scientist like Idea to ask if I wanted to put that money toward another pre-order. So Yea I'm not going into scamstop again.
WhooFlungPoo it isnt their responsibility. You as a customer need to be able keep track of your stuff. The conputer just keeps a record. If you dont have the papers proving it thats your problem.
WhooFlungPoo Unlike some people I don't live infront of a screen If I pay for something I expect to get it. If they can't provide it it is their responsibility to contact me so I can either change my order or cancel it. That is just good business and most places do it. Even online store notify you when they cant fill your order.
WhooFlungPoo I had the receipt it was so faded from age that it wouldn't scan you could read 90% of it but it wouldn't scan. The receipt was almost a year old considering I paid in full day one of pre orders.
WhooFlungPoo Yes it was their responsibility it's technically false advertising and a scam if a game is canceled it's not the customers responsibility it's the store's responsibility to notify you because they were the ones who assumed it was being made for the 360... thats like them advertising super smash bros for the XBOne then you go in there once you find out it's only for the wii u and they say sorry it's not our responsibility except it is because they advertised it for the XBOne and that's called false advertising and people get sued for that all the time it's illegal.
They don't like it when you cancel a preorder?! You mean, they would rather you spend money in THEIR store instead of taking your business elsewhere?! The nerve!!!!!!
+battheman777 That's not it, not even close, Gamestop only judges it's employees by numbers, they literally don't care about the employee, if your managers see you go into the negatives, "IE: Refunding, Losing Pre-Orders, or anything else" they will fire you, it's not the nerve of the employee, it's just how they need to keep their job, that's why they ask you after you're done buying games from them, "Have any pre-orders or etc etc you want to purchase", because those sales matter a LOT to them, it's the only way they get to keep their job, because if they see you losing sales, they won't hesitate to fire you for someone else. I had a friend who worked at Gamestop, he had a near mental breakdown because of how they treated him, they apparently made it feel like it was all his fault that he wasn't making sales, nearly ruined his life until he quit and worked someplace else.
I thought you were talking about the people behind the counter, rather than the people behind the business, because those are two different people, it's like the slave and the slave owner. My bad.
at my local game stop all the emoplees are really chill. they encouraged me to pre order bo3, just to get the beta. then they told me after the beta to just cancel the pre order. my store recognizes the best way to do things. and they don't keep it to themselves. they share what they think is the best choice for the customer.
David Askew So you're saying you'd rather trust some pre-released gameplay footage (which most of the time are just scripted highlighted segments that they want you to see) over a large number of user reviews? Lmao. In pre-released gameplay footage, they're not going to show you any flaws in the game, while with reviews, if 4 or more mention something is bad, then it probably is. Also, you can check the comment sections of said reviews to see if anyone share any further criticism. Lastly, calling someone stupid for not wanting to risk wasting money on a game only makes you sound insecure and defensive.
+Đức Đặng Tấn didn't call him stupid, I believe I said "Then your been stupid" not you are stupid. Never said you have to pre order games either, I was saying people that give reviews on games it's the reviewers opinion, it doesn't mean you wouldn't like it.
All of you who think preorder exclusivity is a good thing are horribly ignorant. You don't see that they're cutting out content of the game to charge you more for it. Look at Witcher 3, there's none of that exclusive bullshit and now it's a top contender for GOTY with quality that hasn't been seen in years. Preorder exclusives not only rob you of your money and enjoyment of the game, but they also encourage developers to focus more on cutting content than improving quality. Look at Ubisoft, once a much loved company, now it's catching up to EA on the opposite side of the spectrum.
It's because the employees have a certain quota for pre-orders and such that they have to reach. Pre-owned games don't play into that quota, even though the company is still profiting from it. It's a really distorted system.
Exactly. They got really bad once they bought out EBgames and company. Back then EBgames was actually worth doing business with. They were fair, good selection and didn't hassle you over stupid shit. Now happily a PC gamer since 2004. Will never go back to consoles and GameStop.
I used to work at GameStop, you're not paid on commission, but your hours are determined by how many preorders you get and memberships you sell. Preorder cancellations get marked on whoever does the transaction. So when you do a cancellation that's potential hours being taken away from you and given to another employee
ok this video is old yes but let me explain to you why as a gamestop employee. we have a quota to hit each day when it comes to reserves so taking a hit like that messes with our numbers and its frustrating and people don't ever understand why, but work at any retail store or own your own business and you'll understand. now me personally, if you find a game cheaper online as you did, then yea i completely understand and would do the same thing, BUT we would rather you put it onto something else so atleast then it will zero out. but in your case the guy was being stupid and did what we are not suppose to do and make a big deal about it. technically though the money is always yours and you can do what you want and if there is a problem, then hey dont pre-order things any more! another reason why we get so frustrated is that people don't realize that if you cancel a pre-order within the week it is coming out, the day before, or the day of or after it comes out, we still have that copy now just sitting there. it doesnt just magically go away. normal copies aint much of a big deal, but collector's editions and special editions that cost a lot more and aren't thaaaaaaaaaaaaat popular will now sit in our back room taking up space for a looooooong time most likely because you decided to NOT pick it up or cancel before it showed up. now i know im going a lil over board but i thought i'd shed some light on people you really don't understand how this works.
It's not the customers problem that Gamestop forces its employees to hit a quota pre-orders. I used to work there, I disagreed with how they do business and was tired of having to hammer people with pre-order questions so I quit. People these days in a customer service environment no longer know how to conduct themselves. It doesn't matter if your feelings were hurt, you're at work and its time to act like a grown up and not throw a tantrum because something didn't go your way. Gamestop employees are usually the worst and rudest, and the management there fully supports this type of behavior. It's so bad, that I don't do business with them anymore. I sell or trade my used games on craigslist for what they are worth, and I either buy my new games online, or if I have no other choice I will go to target. At least there, when I'm paying for my game, they don't try to sell me a warranty on the disc, pre-orders, magazine subscriptions, or get butthurt that I didn't want to buy the game used instead of new, etc...
ok well i dont know where you are from or who was your employer but that is not how it works at all. we dont throw a temper tantrum about these things and you're right its not the customer's problem that we dont hit our quota. but thats the same kinda of thing any retailer or business environment job will push on you to do, which is you must hit a certain amount on "x, y and z". people complain on why anyone acts the way they do in certain jobs but they never understand why they act the way they do. yes some people do the wrong things and over react over dumb stuff and in this guy's case the employee is wrong. and as far as buying things at target and selling things online, again thats your choice no one ever forces you to sell your games at our store or forces anything on you. and ofc at target they dont give a crap to ask you for that stuff cuz they dont sell just one type of item they are more of a warehouse like store. you go to gamestop to talk to gamers, get the exclusives, and ask questions specifically about games. its the same as if you go to the apple store you go there and they will ask if you want apple care and this that and the other thing.
sonicfreak1031 Maybe the employer should understand that selling things is not like maintaining a machine, things don't just repeat over and over again in the same manner, and so some arbitrary number of pre-orders or sales being made is not a sensible standard to have in place. Dealing with people is a more personal thing than dealing with raw materials, you can't just treat everything like a statistic and a percentage, or you'll get the kind of shitty reputation that Gamestop/ EB games (they're both the same company) has earned. You need to just stop trying to make people sympathetic for your cause or saying "people don't understand", because the fact is people are not morons, they understand completely, they understand employers pitch this kind of marketing BS to their employees who then regurgitate it to customers, and we don't like it... and they aren't listening.
im not saying that people are morons and no most people dont really understand, and i say this because either ill tell the customer why i am saying all of this and they are shocked, or when in an interview with someone who clearly has a working brain and who is a shopper dont know why we pitch these things. but here's the bottom line, whether you like or not its still part of our JOB, WE HAVE TO DO THIS OR WE GET FIRED. thats how aaaaaaaany retail job or sales position works.
oh i i completely agree with you man and thats not who i am. yes we all have our moments and its no one else's fault but our own and i apologize on my behalf.
The reason we dont like to cancel pre-orders, is because it looks bad on the employee doing it, it actually makes it hard for us to move up in the company, so we are always unhappy to cancel pre-orders. I am not saying you shouldnt, because its good to save your money(its why I do the same thing as you sometimes), but please try to research the game your getting before pre-ordering, so you don't hurt the employee's numbers, it really sucks having a negative in pre-orders, when that's all corporate seems to care the most about.
+Kat dolphinwhat (Magic Dolphin) You wouldn't go negative in pre-orders. Lets say that employee has 3 pre-orders with this guy's being the 3rd. He would have not gotten to 3 without him existing in the first place. Therefore he just goes BACK to 2. You make it a net gain of "0", not "-1". You gave a 'point' and then took a single 'point' away.
***** Thats assuming if that same employee hadnt canceled any other pre-orders beforehand, which is extremely common. This actually happened to me a couple days ago, luckily I came out positive, but I kept dipping back into the negatives with a lot of 'mad max' cancels for 'metal gear' instead.
+FireEmblem3 what if say, employee A takes 3 pre-orders and then finishes his shift. he's up 3. the employee B starts his shift and all three want to cancel their pre-orders. he's at -3. so you can quite easily be in the negatives.
+Kat dolphinwhat (Magic Dolphin) It's a business. A business is not going to like every move an employee makes, but that's part of running a business. Have you ever heard of a little thing called "consumer sovereignty"? GameStop is just a shitty business, and that's why more and more as time passes, everyone makes them out to be a joke. Not so much the employees at the frontline level's fault, but the business as a whole.
+Kat dolphinwhat (Magic Dolphin) I'll put it to you this way. Not my problem. End of. I'm not going to spend more simply because your job depends on it. You don't like it, don't work there.
Okay, I'm going to explain how the reservations work for employees at Game Stop. When you place a preorder, we get one res and if we have one cancellation, you have to get 2 res to make up for it. They not only count for the day but also the week. The number that counts for us is not the number of reserves that we get in a week, it's the net number (reservations minus cancellations). Low numbers because of cancellations is no excuse according to Game Stop. I once had five preorders and was feeling pretty good that day about my numbers. Had a customer come into the store and he ended up cancelling 10 preorders. So I went from having 5 preorders to -5. That not only affected my numbers for the day, but also the week. I ended up losing my job because I couldn't get the numbers that Game Stop wanted.
So I got my popcorn ready, thinking i'm about to hear a good story... And you're telling me that all the GameStop guy did was to ask you why you are canceling the pre-order and giving a comment about you saving 6 bucks ? Name me one store you have returned an item and they didn't ask you the reason of the return. People are way too sensitive these days..
they have to keep certain things up pre orders and the gamester power card membership its there job to push thos number up so by you canceling he is negative 1 thats why he was mad
gamestop is the worst gameing store i think the world every seen. The worst price's.the word servise ,the worst worker's.It's just gamestop company does not really do thing's well.MS was going to do DRM but for the best .Not saying drm is a good thing. But there was going to be sales like steam.Something that would crush gamestop.
+idontcare9797no it doesn't it's simply just a set aside copy for a consumer which doesn't matter because eve if you didn't preorder you can get a copy before someone who did preorder
+Big K Actually it does, because it's not about somebody getting a game before someone else but about the fact that if you preorder it guarantees the devs. and puplishers that they get money for something you haven't actually seen yet and can't possibly know the actual quality of besides what they them self tell you and just look at almost all the major releases over the last few years and just how many of them either didn't even come close to living up the the hype and what they promised or where outright broken and unplayable. I am not sure how old you are and if you even know what it used to be like when devs and puplishers couldn't simply rely on updates to fix or finish the game later because that simply wasn't possible back than (PS2 area and before) and a recall/refund was way too expensive so they actually had to make sure they release a high quality product, so back than preordering was still putting blind faith into the devs but at least you could somewhat trust them to deliver, these times are over however! So please save yourself the money and hold these companies to a higher standard, just wait until a game is out and you had a chance to look at the user reviews (much more reliable and honest than "professional" reviews) before you buy, usually until at least 3 weeks after is a good time to wait, sure you maybe won't get all the exclusive preorder bullshit they throw in (or better cut out of the main game) but that won't be worth anything anyway if the game is shit and the fact that they have to push all this crap with the preorder should also tell you quite a bit about the final product and how confident they are them self that it will hold up once people can actually play it.
+free4fire While I'll partly agree to what you have said ...I don't think it's the pre ordering that hurting gamers. I think it's more the online aspect most people these days don't even play story modes they go straight to online.
+Xavior Ravensblood Not really, games are meant to be fun. If everyone gets enjoyment out of multiplayer then what's wrong with that? Gaming's always been about the multiplayer in most genres. RPG's and Horror games are pretty much the only games that most people would care about the story. Every other genre focuses on the actual gameplay.
sounds like he was just making conversation, when you work at gamestop they're huge on customer service so idk seems like he was just doing his job, and he asked for your ID because one of those is probably a mature game. I know this videos is three years old but it was in my recommended section lol but preorders are a really big part of their sales goals, i can understand the guys disappointment tbh he probably cared more about his numbers instead of the overall stores goal.
When he said oh no I imagined the employes running and screaming in a huge panic, sirens going off saying red alert please remain calm. Just because of you :)
This wasn't my experiance. Maybe stuff is different in 2015, but I recently cancelled a pre-order (BO3, I decided to get the PC version instead of the 360 version after hearing about the campaign), and I just went there, showed my ID/reciept, asked to cancel, and they gave me my money back with no questions asked.
Pre-order online I always do from Ebgames here in canada. They use to have a cancel order, but for some reason was removed But now you just simply email them with the order number, and ask to cancel. They usually have it cancelled next day and email you back
Gamestops model is circular, pre-ordering games get you in the store, and while at the store they want you to buy more. then trade in the same game towards a new pre-order
I had something like this happen to me when I went to cancel my BF4 pre-order. The guy behind the counter casually asked why and when I said that I played the beta and it was buggier than pork left in the sun for a week I had to then rebut, in detail, why his "Yeah, but it will be better by release" comment was flawed. It turned out that BF4 was not only buggy on release too but it remained buggy for a while as I understand it.
For those who don't understand how most pre-orders work: you pay a certain amount up front. To reserve a copy. The reason they request a certain amount up front is to ensure u will buy it. This is good for both customer and seller. The seller is more likely to sell the item and the customer doesn't have to worry about the possibility of the item being sold out. Still don't understand why the seller gets to keep the amount paid up front? Imagine you are renting out a room in your home. Imagine someone says "hey I'm interested please hold this for me." You say, "Sure no problem" you don't request a holding fee or anything. Now that potential person is a jerk. He's going to continue looking for better deals. If he finds something better he will ditch the place he requested on hold. So the renter is now screwed. He wasted all that time holding it when he could've found someone sooner to rent out the room. As for the employee, you could always write a complaint to management.
IT'S TRUE. I WENT TO MY LOCAL GAME STOP TO PICK UP A PRE ORDER GAME BUT THE CASHIER WANTED MY ID OR DRIVERS LICENSE BUT LEFT IT AT MY HOUSE DUE THAT I CAN WALK TO GAME STOP IN A FEW MINUTES. I CAME BACK TO SHOW HER MY DRIVERS LICENSE BUT SHE KEPT ME WAITING FOR 10 MINUTES. I GOT SO UP SET I TOLD HER I WANT TO CANCEL ALL MY PRE ORDER GAMES. I PAID FOR 5 FULL PRE ORDER GAMES AND SHE TOLD ME I COULD NOT DUE THAT AND THAT SHE WOULD GET IN TROUBLE BUT I TOLD HER I AM TAKING MY BUSINESS TO BESTBUY AND CANCEL ALL MY PRE ORDER GAMES.
I can completely understand why they do not like to cancel pre-orders. when you pre-order a game you are telling them that you plan on buying the game when it comes out from them, and not one of their competitors. when you cancel the pre-order that is one less person buying the game form them
Gamestop's pre owned games are the reason we pay more for games and the cause for DLC prices. When you buy a new game 90% of profit goes to the publisher, when you buy a pre owned game the publisher gets 0.
the main reason i could see why they wouldnt like that is because some games have preorder bonuses in which you can get the code for, download, then cancel it and thats pretty much against the rules and the could probably get in trouble for that so
Manager at GameStop here, at my store, whenever we get a preorder cancel, I just use it as an opportunity to get myself a nifty new preorder. Problem solved! Numbers stable, everyone’s happy :)
I think the GameStop here in Texas was good every time there is a mid night launch for a game they give back to the community. Last time they bought us Whataburger and McDonalds since it was across the street.
I've never had any problems at GameStop in my life and ive been going there for about six years, and I've spent hundreds of dollars on consoles, games, and accessories, all the employees at the one I go to are super friendly.
If people are not aware, the reason that Gamestop doesn't want you to cancel a preorder is because the numbers reflected from your preorders helps their business gain better contracts from the publishers of the games. It also shows good numbers for quarterly reviews since it is a business and those things matter. It is drilled into the heads of the employees that cancellations is a sign of failure, and if you do not meet certain numbers or cannot prevent cancellations they discuss it with you on why you're not doing well. You will never get fired for cancellations or poor performance in preorders/selling the gameinformer subscription, but it is frowned upon. This is from a former gamestop employee that worked at the company for 2 years all together (1 year 5 months before joining the army, 7 months after the army going back as part time for fun)
Being an Ex GameStop Employee, every store manager HARASSES their employees under direction of CORPORATE to get preorders. It's horrible to deal with as an associate when your district manager does nothing bur complain
I will not spend one cent at Gamestop, because they do not respect their customers.
Dude, your first mistake was going to Gamestop in the first place.
Mach Mach where the hell else would you go.
Mach Mach no, his first mistake was that haircut.
American Dorito Best Buy/amazon
So you're going to Blame someone when you too went through the same process like they do?
Um, just build a PC
Why would a fucking gamestop employee care if someone cancels a pre-order? I was not aware they are paid on commission?
rafael502 Their hours are determined by their preorders and dumb membership subscriptions. I'm a former gamestop employee.
They also don't get paid commission
rafael502 Because for some reason, we, the gamestop employees, get personal bad numbers if we are the ones to do the transaction with the cancel, and it really sucks because it makes us look bad.
Pegasus Boot Yea, I really dont understand why they ever said that. I feel like numbers matter more than ever now.
Everyone's gamestops must be very shitty. The ones around where I live, I never have problems. Employees are all very nice, and get me what I need.
Yea! Same here
what area do u live bc i need to know
Same with me
Yeah me to I think the GameStop near me is the best gaming store
+Heero yuy I went to that same store and actually talked about Halo with one of the employees, best day ever xD
The worst part about this story: You had to play Hitman Absolution....
gnarkillguch I bought Hitman Absolution in a Humble Bundle deal, for like...1 dollar, and that's including another game I really wanted.
Davin Liming
That's not too terrible then I guess. I paid $60 like an idiot.
Well, I bought it in 2014, not at the game's actual release date. Though, tell me. How IS the game? I haven't played it, yet. But, judging from context, I assume it's bad.
gnarkillguch Hitman Absolution was a fantastic game! I loved every bit of it.
gnarkillguch Love the Hitman games..bought the 2007 movie Hitman and can't wait for the new Hitman movie due to come out in August 2015
Then I don't want the game at all. DLC has turned into a scam.
It's way more expensive to maintain a PC then a console
the workers get in trouble when you do that
why and how?
used to work at GameStop...employee performance are based on getting pre-orders, and if you cancel one it is like losing one of the pre-orders they obtained from another customer.
If you research an learn about your rights almost no wrong action from an employer can touch you without repercussion to the company.
goddammit this was the most high school kid video i've seen this year
lol!
Lol
I'm starting to really hate watching kids with super disorganized thought processes try to share something with the world. The issue is everyone on TH-cam these days seems to be in the same boat. Is this truly what kids are like these days? I'm not THAT old, hell.. we're fucked..
Andy i bet you work for gamestop
When I was looking for amiibos at game stop I asked if they had any little macs in the back , they say they don't and as soon as I turn around and start walking away I hear the two of them talking about the little mac they are saving for when they get off work
im too young to get a job
***** dude that sucks. if i wanted something and i see it and they say they dont have it thats okay to rant about. your on a ranting video!
+ProjectExodos no its not, not if someones reserved it.
jinofthethunder then they will tell you its reserved, you have the right to ask
ProjectExodos you have the right to do a lot of stupid things, doesn't make them less stupid. simply saying no saves time, theres no point in explaining how you have one that you can't sell to the customer. just say that you don't have any available.
When worked there preorders were super important its part of the reason I left. It wasnt really hard to do but it reflected bad on you if someone canceled a preorder and you got it trouble. I hated that.
GameStop is the biggest joke in all of the gaming world. Amazon, Craigslist, Steam pick your poison. Anything is better then that joke of a re seller.
No there is one shop I went into,I traded in 26 games and they offered me $3.00
LOL. Yea, that sounds about right.
***** Are you serious? Please tell me that you're joking. I can't....
I'm not.
I canceled a battlefront pre order to get fallout 4
Smart man
hisssssss
Holden Rasmusssen I made the right decision I'm so hyped
+Conroy McFab Played the beta. CoD with star wars oh my. I'd rather have fallout.
+Elijah Padilla tsk
Valve should open an actual steam store
You mean like the steam store?
Neo Metcalfe Ya but a physical one like a gamestop but it doesn't suck
+MrTHEMONEEMAKER there is absolutely no point to that
ZyRo ShockY Idk I just thought everyone could use a good video game store since were all kind of lacking in that department
+MrTHEMONEEMAKER It's the concept that sucks not the stores, physical stores+physical employes= expensive games.
Even if canceling pre-orders affects the employee they shouldn't take it out on the customer. They should just do their job and talk to the manager about the policy or get a different job.
Exactly. Gamestop has horrible policies that their employees are forced to comply with if they want a paycheck. But don't take your anger out on the kid who just wants to play a video game.
butt fart yet pepole always are taking out thier hatered of gamestop on its employees.
BURN GAMESTOP STEAM STEAM STEAM STEAM STEAM STEAM STEAM STEAM STEAM!!!
Dude calm your shit. If you have this much steam you should stop boiling water California needs
Seriously though we should burn game stop
Grace Meredith yea
Downloading to your HDD slows your whole shit down
+Big K Only if you have a stone age PC.
+Big K This is why everyone uses an SSD...
A guy gave him a dirty look....that's all.
Allison Eigenbrod thx cuh
L for trying be funny but sounds stupid asf
Allison Eigenbrod i'll give you a dirty look
Fuck GameStop. Probably the single worst thing about the game industry currently. Stop pre-ordering! It's the reason we now buy sectioned off games instead of full games.
yes! exactly. just like that bullshit dlc for mortal kombat x. so I'm suppose to pay extra money aside from the 60 I already paid just to get 4 more characters? fuck you! pre orders keep ruIning good games. & while we're on the subject, I'm fine paying 60 for a disc copy of a game, but if I purchase it digitally why the fuck am I still paying 60$
I'd say IGN is the single worst thing about the game industry
Can I get some proof that's the reason? No? Didn't think so
Tigerscar Lol, it's not hard to look it up, and it's not hard to make the connection yourself.
Max Curtner people like me? Because I said he wasn't going to fork over any proof? What the heck. You must be the cancer of the gaming community
SquishyTheTitan negative numbers still exist and very much hurt our jobs lol
CamSandwich ugh really? Are they at least more balanced now? like "Well damn, he got a couple games cancelled, but hey he got 5 pre-orders and 3 signups, so he's okay"
SquishyTheTitan negative lol.
honestly they're pressing harder than ever before.
They're micromanaging like maniacs AND if we don't make quota on reserves, warranties, trade percentage (items coming in for trade) and Cricket wireless sales, we receive less hours to be allocated.
one coaching is received and if improvement doesn't show within two weeks, termination.
Yeah that doesn't make any sense to me. I don't recall ever hearing about someone canceling a pre-order just because they didn't like the employee.
At the end I did get my money back, after speaking to a store clerk, who had me talk to his manager, then a regional manager, etc.
jungledog82 Lmfao!!! "I felt like I was in a timeshare seminar."
Meh, for me the only thing lamestop is good for, are the awesome things they throw away in their dumpsters on a regular basis. lol
They're either Gamestop labeled bags, or in clear plastic bags. You'll also find a lot of loose items too.
A tooon of little things like cases, marketing posters, and so on. It was a lot. The best thing I found in any dumpster was a sealed iPad in a Staples dumpster. Sold in on eBay for $400.
Parker Ayliffe
Like you are not wasting time replying with insults? Hypocrite.
same thing every kid says when they're lame as fuck, takes 2 seconds to reply, I'm not jumping in garbage cans LMFAO
Parker Ayliffe uh....sell them to an idiot?
STOP PREORDERING GAMES....all you are doing is taking part in killing game quality.
not really pre ordering a game does not actually kill the game quality..... it really does fuck all.... all pre ordering does is secure your copy of the game and helps the stores stock quantity :S the company is not going to look at all the pre orders and go oh lets change the game for these people.....
BlackHearthguard it sounds like you r just copying boogie
The guy responds "I have to finalize the sale."
So let me get this straight.
***** In that case, I apologize and turn those middle fingers back to Gamestop!
They will sell your preorder if you're not there fast enough. I think within 24 hours is your best bet but even at that, if someone else wants it, they'll sell it to them and you'll be SOL
Just shop at GameStop online it’s better then you don’t have to worry about driving there to pick things up just have items ship to your house
Wheelman is actually a pretty great game
No it's not
+Alpaca I like you
Yes american dad lol
+Noah Fischer it had no replay value. great game..one time
My brother came in and wanted to trade his bo2 and GameStop said they would give him 10 bucks. The game was barely played.
Right after it came out.
+Zack Moyer it's RECEIPT not RECITE
I like how your profile picture is the green bay packers and your name is Aaron.
3:44 , "I whip out my 'd'"
(it's 1:46 am and i'm tired and that's what I heard)
he said i whip out my ID to confirm hes over the age to play the game its just you
Baltazar Almaraz I know that. Didn't you read the sentence in parenthesis?
No... It's what you wanted to hear...
I gotta agree, the only employees my local gamestop that plays anything besides Halo or sports games are this guy and this girl, the girl is pretty cool, made some good suggestions, but the guy flipped his lid when I told him that I thought poison type pokemon were pretty cool all because the meta makes them weak apparently and they don't deal enough damage and apparently I'm not a true fan even though I've played pokemon since before he was out of diapers.
so he had no problem canceling your preorder... great story, bro.
It's because their pre-order numbers are very important to upper management. It's one of those things that help them keep their job. I hate Gamestop as a company. I know a lot of good dudes that work there, but it sucks. It treats consumers like garbage.
I cancelled a preorder earlier on for CoD AW and they were k with it. I guess it depends on the store.
it's just cause their jobs basically depend on selling those pre-orders. I guess some employees get (rightfully) upset with corporate for having crap policies, and some get mad at the customer for screwing up their quota.
I cancelled black ops 3 pre order and they slit my neck and ripped out my esohpagus
Btw buttfart it doesnt depend on pre orders
I bought a preowned game with a 2nd disc with all the downloaded content. so I downloaded it and took the game back and bought the cheaper version...gotta fight bullshit with bullshit :)
Fuckin genius lol
And nowadays, amazon actually taxes in a lot of states, due to having locations in multiple states, I actually live in one of the few states that Amazon doesn't have any physical presense in.
one time I was at gamestop and the cashier farted and he blamed it on me ....
Hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha hahaha!!!!!!!!😆
that one person doesn't represent the company bro. :)
***** I have to say the Gamestop guys in Crossville are pretty cool. :)
No Gamestop is just a piece of shit as it is anyone who works there is a nerdy douche
*****
I wouldn't go so far as to decide for anyone who decides to get a job there who and what they are as a person. That is not our prerogative, and anyone who does so acts foolishly.
Its perfectly reasonable that people who like the Gaming Scene might decide to work in a Gamestop because they like videogames.
Damien John That one Employee does represent the company...It's kinda his job..
TheWalkingFlimbo He represents it in a professional sense, but his actions alone don't reflect the stance of the company or how they treat their customers. You know exactly what I mean. ;)
solution: never pre-order. just not worth it.
First mistake: you answered his irrelevant questions.
his first mistake was thinking about buying a hitman game
I know right? Why should you have to justify your choices regarding your own purchases to anyone... You don't sign a contract when you pre-order a game, so you're not bound to stick by it at all
I cancelled one today. Dude gave me $5 cash. We had a little chat all cool.
I have never had a problem with canceling a game at any GameStop.
I have
It was more than one for me
Genreguru I'm not sure why everyone has a problem with canceling a preorder. I've cancelled many over the years at multiple stores. They have never asked why, they just refund the money.
Adams6006 I didn't even get my $5 hold back all I got was the $60 pre order for mortal Kombat X
Diana Davidson the five dollars hold goes into the total price of the game. ($5 down. Leaving $55 as the balance plus tax)
So you bought a pre order and didnt have the brain to keep up with your own stuff? Was google too hard for you? Are you new to the internet?
It's funny how before this there was an GameStop ad about pre-ordering Black Ops 3
They don't like it when you cancel a preorder?! You mean, they would rather you spend money in THEIR store instead of taking your business elsewhere?! The nerve!!!!!!
I think it's more to do with the fact that an individual got angry about it when realistically it barely affects him in any way, if at all.
The thing is he cancelled the pre order and used the money to buy something else from the same GameStop
Skripty Resources not even close? You do realize that your lengthy response actually supports my original post, right?
I thought you were talking about the people behind the counter, rather than the people behind the business, because those are two different people, it's like the slave and the slave owner. My bad.
HERE HERE
hi luke lol
Hi
Wtf
at my local game stop all the emoplees are really chill. they encouraged me to pre order bo3, just to get the beta. then they told me after the beta to just cancel the pre order. my store recognizes the best way to do things. and they don't keep it to themselves. they share what they think is the best choice for the customer.
GameStop- " Playing with my money is like playing with my emotions."
The people at my gamestop like working there and are nice
quinn damn you're lucky
Makes me wanna go pre order a bunch of games and go back a few days later and cancel them all
hector zamora lol
I know something that makes them happy...asking if they have Battle Toads! :D
Why would anybody pre-order a game? Just wait for it to come out, see the reviews and then not waster your money.
You could get some exclusives ;)
+ItsVortex which will just end up as DLC a month after launch.
Game stop = crooks
Exactly. They got really bad once they bought out EBgames and company. Back then EBgames was actually worth doing business with. They were fair, good selection and didn't hassle you over stupid shit. Now happily a PC gamer since 2004. Will never go back to consoles and GameStop.
50 for five games!?!?!? Such a ripoff!
that's acutely pretty cheap
10 dollars for each game is an okay price but Steam is still cheaper.
yesh
Especially at the summer sale at 90% sales
ya
That's like the best story ever told in the history of ever. This should be made into a movie or at least a tv series
Stop preordering video games
Cool twin size bed brah! Wanna get under da covers wit meh?
no homo brah
Want my 6 minutes back i spent watching this before I realized it was a 100% waste of my time.
OH MY GOD you were in there for SEVEN WHOLE MINUTES?!?!?! how did you live?!?! -.-
Probably lol
The Gamestops I go to never had a problem if I cancelled preorders.
HISSSSSSSSSSSSS
+Werbeshinq ... i knew there would be one here........
HISSSSSSSS
+BMTH ThatsTheSpirit [LYRICS] hiss
ANON
hisssss
+Werbeshinq So stupid LOL
Lmao hitman was free with gold last year, too bad he bought it two years earlier
Yeah
***** What movie?
The irony of this, the ad on the video was telling you to pre order Star Wars battlefront
you went through all this for $6 bucks and yet you still spent $50 plus bucks anyways. #contradictions
Tip: Don't use vocal music in your background audio
tip: shut the fuck up
tip take your nerdy little punk ass the fuck out of here, you got one of them faces i would knock clean of you little mug.
Arky Dark fucking do it then
Dumbass I'm literally taking TV classes and putting background music with actual lyrics in it is actually quite distracting
lol yer mate
GameStop also hates it when you try to trade a 360 for a ps3. Gets even funnier every time.
looks like you guys came from boogie's channel lol
Well thank u for that inmature comment i can see were u are going in life .
pdowski1976 It's the internet not school nobody cares about grammer. Dipshit.
pdowski1976 you sir must be VERY *special*?
yes VERY *special* you are sir! In a way......thats kinda hard to explain.
***** I care about grammar on the internet too. It makes things easier to understand.
Why would you pre-order games in the first place?
As a gamer you're just shooting yourself in the foot (and everyone else too) when you do so.
+WolfAntic preordering encourages developers to release incomplete games.
I know this videos is three years old but it was in my recommended section lol but preorders are a really big part of their sales goals, i can understand the guys disappointment tbh he probably cared more about his numbers instead of the overall stores goal.
gamestop is a joke..did he ask you for a member slappin rewards card? lol
dont put music in the backround of commentarys it sounds horrible
When he said oh no I imagined the employes running and screaming in a huge panic, sirens going off saying red alert please remain calm. Just because of you :)
Thats hilarious
Best GS employee impersonation EVAR! :D Very accurate, lol. It's not his damn money. They must train them to do that.
Seriously? Worried about your hair? It looks the same as every other guy that has that hair style.
I feel you. They gave me hell every time I did it before.
Pre-order online
I always do from Ebgames here in canada.
They use to have a cancel order, but for some reason was removed
But now you just simply email them with the order number, and ask to cancel.
It was only one employee. The game stop I go to is always willing to go out of their way. They're so nice.
This is the fucking coolest story ever. I like the part how he reluctantly canceled your pre order, that was teh best
my manager at taco bell HATES IT when you don't order 80 dollars worth of food whenever you go there
I PAID FOR 5 FULL PRE ORDER GAMES AND SHE TOLD ME I COULD NOT DUE THAT AND THAT SHE WOULD GET IN TROUBLE BUT I TOLD HER I AM TAKING MY BUSINESS TO BESTBUY AND CANCEL ALL MY PRE ORDER GAMES.
the employees lose out on cancelled pre orders and dont get any perks from used games only pre orders
This is from a former gamestop employee that worked at the company for 2 years all together (1 year 5 months before joining the army, 7 months after the army going back as part time for fun)
they had questioned me like an interrogation when I canceled Battlefront.
When you cancel a pre order that negatively effects their commission. Try to get the same employee who gave you the pre order.
Being an Ex GameStop Employee, every store manager HARASSES their employees under direction of CORPORATE to get preorders. It's horrible to deal with as an associate when your district manager does nothing bur complain
