I have two problems which I wondered if this will fix. The first is, being old and with weaker arms I’m struggling to initially get the awning ’tunnel’ fitted to the van. I can’t use the awning rail on my own, it’s too difficult. Usually I throw the guy ropes over the van and peg down, but now I’m struggling to pull the tunnel up onto the roof. I saw these and wondered if when fitted to the tunnel I could easily put them onto the roof so they’ll hold while I peg down at the other side.
The second is, when using just the guy ropes I inevitably have gaps where the tunnel edge is gaping in places….and so this might take those gaps away by keeping it flat.

@@OldWhistler7743 I'm afraid in answer to your first question and from what you've said I don't think it's going to be that much easier :-( As for your second point, yes, it definitely cuts out those gaps.

@@camping_guru_uk Thank you for the reply. From what you say it will be worth getting it even just for the gaps which drive me crazy when it rains. Thanks for your help 😀

I have the Outdoor revolution magnetic strip. Quite heavy trying to get it onto van roof when attached to awning. Then trying to Chuck the 3 guy lines over roof. You need two people. And then on the Elgrand type van with rain gutters its not great. Any real wind and its flapping about . Not good. So I have now bought 10 strong fishing magnets for £20. Which work well. Just a shame the magnetic strip isn't more stronger.

Hi, just wondered, I have a pop top on my T5, so I can't put the magnetic rail on the roof, do you think it will fit on the edge, like where the A pillar continues on from front to back? Thanks

you have to fit it to a flat part of the roof or it will pull off easily.

I have a high roof transit. Will this fit on the side of the van?

You have to fit it to the flat part of obviously the steel roof.

These will not work unless you have a flat roof section at least two inches wide and free of obstruction.
My VW Caddy has roof rails and a 20 mm wide channel close to the edge so it won't work. As for the Sucker alternative!! You'd be a Sucker to buy them. They are utter rubbish, unfit for use and mine failed on the very first night in a blow. I spent the next morning visiting a camping shop for temporary guy lines.
