    The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek is a popular pick among small crossovers, and it's easy to see why. It proved to be a potent partner on road trips and adventures and has managed to withstand the daily rigours of our long-term testing. But it's far from the only successful small SUV out there, leaving curious car shoppers wondering how it fares against the recently redesigned 2024 Hyundai Kona.
    While many things can factor into what makes a car the better choice, we decided to focus on which one is more practical, has better features, and is more affordable.

    The Subaru's ride quality is a step above the whole segment.

    Seriously the eyesight sensor in the Subaru is impairing your view of the sky? Really. The power of the Crosstrek is crazy fast.

    😂. I don’t think these two are “auto experts” 🙈. This presentation looks like it was done by high school kids for a class credit. Nothing based on research, facts or logic, just opinions.
    Not even close. Subbie destroys it in basically every measurable category.

      @ricksousa3932 Both vehicles have four tires and a steering wheel... but that's where it pretty much ends.
      Their opinion has little value if you're kinda like Jason Fenske (another "car-guy TH-cam" channel) _"Engineering Explained"_
      There's more "emotion and bias" from their perspective. I'm just stating the obvious if someone out there is planning to seriously plunk down some $$$.

    The Crosstrek is my pick of these two, hands down. Not only is it going to be more reliable/longer lasting, it also looks far better (the Kona gives me a Pontiac Aztek vibe; not good!) and has the best ride quality in the segment. The only win I'd give the Kona is when it comes to the interior, but that's not nearly enough to tip the scales in its favor.

      Interesting, I had the opposite opinion and was wondering who'd choose the Crosstrek over the Kona. Cool to see so many different viewpoints.

      I agree 100%. The Subaru crosstrek looks way better than the Kona. Much more reliable and will last longer.

    • @BrandonBaunach
      @BrandonBaunach 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Really I thought it was opposite cuz the crosstrek has a CVT transmission that’s not as long lasting as a regular automatic like the Kona. I think the Kona might be better for long term reliability.

    Take this review with a grain of salt and then drink lots of water to flush out your system. As a Crosstrek owner and person who has watched a lot of these videos, do yourself a favour and test drive one. It’s actually really quiet, not just my opinion. It’s Consumer Reports’ opinion as well. The screen doesn’t lag for me. I mentioned this when I first sat in my car. If I remote start my vehicle, I’ve noticed that CarPlay has already connected as I approach the car. My phone will be in my pocket and I can hear the music as I’m loading my equipment into the trunk. I have no problem getting to speed, you don’t need to floor the pedal, you just need to know how to drive.

    My Crosstrek Wildernes connects quickly to wireless CarPlay. The Google / Apple map pops up on the 11.6 display and I love it !
    The ground clearance, front skid plate, 700 lb roof rail, 3500 lb towing capacity, sportex seats clean up easily after hauling dogs etc.

    If you choose one of them to keep for 10 years. The answer is a no brainer. My last 2015 crosstrek with 3 accidents, 140k km, still held nearly 50% of original value. It's just unreal...

    If you don't have power seats you're not sitting in the ultimate... It's just a regular N-Line. If it was the ultimate you would have power seats, 360° camera, cooled seats, Bose sound system. Get it right people... Know what you're driving.

    When it comes to reliability the Crosstrek wins, hands down. Hyundai's reliability reputation is terrible. The Kona may be a better vehicle, but the Subaru is way more reliable, and if you keep your vehicles for a long time that's very important.

    They did a good job on this video as far as production value. The amount of opinion vs objective stats is skewed IMO. As far as convivence and utility comparisons it's okay and might be helpful for families looking to buy one of these models. Personally, I wont consider Hyundai for the garbage they recently pulled on their ridiculous pricing and "market adjustments" while Subaru dealt well with the goofy shortages by their customers. This video was more about "why we like Kona" more than a review comparison with content about recall history, curb weight, actual fuel economy (not so-and-so got this mpg).

    • @zorphias0
      @zorphias0 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I disagree, if I want the stats I’ll go look them up, subjective opinions is the whole reason I watch car review videos because I want to know what real people think who have driven the cars.

    The Hyundai Kona has a 10 year 100,000 warranty - The Subaru doesn't and it's super high expensive to repair and service

    Just a note...a couple of times, Renita commented she didn't like something, and Sami interrupted to agree. I replayed it twice, and still didn't make out what she didn't like, since Sami talked over her. I think it might have been the Kona's seat. Just a note for the future, guys. Otherwise, I enjoyed the comparison test.

      Have heard of a lot of unreliablity coming out of VW for a while now. I used to own a bettle that was a great care but To me now they are not reliable any more. And that is what I want most . I usually drive my cares into the ground meaning 15 to 20 years.

      @@kevinwest1607 Well as I said I drive mine into the ground sounds to me that because of the number that you have had that you dont drive them long enough to see if they give you trouble I usualy get 15 years out of my cars. Besides I have been talking bout the new ones in the past 3 years or so seem to have a lot of troubles. My old air cooled 69 beetle lasted me 17 years body fell off it cause am sure I Would be driving it today if it had not rusted out.
