Bro, at 3:04 when you swapped to the Osmo internal audio, i literally paused the video to take my airpods out because I thought the audio had swapped to my computer speakers 😂
The noise cancelling on DJI Mic 2 is very obvious. In certain situations it would be very useful. Such as somewhere where they are playing copyrighted music and you don’t want it in your video. But when you went by the hedge trimmers it kinda sounded a bit weird 🤷♂️. For the most part I wouldn’t really care too much about the noise cancelling though because it’s nice to hear the ambient sounds around you so I’ll stick with my DJI Mic 1 for now. Nice video review btw 👍
Collin. What’s a good mic I can get. I’m just starting out. And I’m still watching all your videos. I’m on disability and wanted to do something to make some xtra money. Haven’t started a channel yet. Still watching to learn all I can. Thank u so much for all your videos
What would be better if the sole use case is to record car exhaust audio? Is the mic 2 going to be better for this with the 32-bit float? Less chance of clipping, or no?
@ no and I haven’t bought it yet either. I’ll probably go mic 2 just because it’s newer and isn’t much more money. Unless the mic 1 is on sale in the spring time. I plan to magnetise it to my rear bumper to record the exhaust audio. I have no idea what I am going to use to record video though. Maybe a GoPro mounted to the headrest or something that looks forwards
The mic2 is supposed to work with the osmo4 built in receiver. I don't know if mic1 also works. Its ground breaking but almost no one talks about it. Having wireless audio without all the patch cord garbage on your cam. To me that's big. I was hoping gopro would have done this by now but all they have is the stupid overpriced media mod or a cage and a mic adapter with wires hanging around compromising the cameras waterproof ability.
The DJI mic 2 sounds a little nasally. I prefer the mic 1 it sounds more clear and has a bit more bass when talking. Thanks for the comparison it has helped me decide which mic to buy.
How well does the noise canceling work if you are in a retail store with music in the background that might cause a copyright infringement on your TH-cam video?
Can you use the 2 while live streaming when I do a livestream on streamyard I can use the mics but when I bring someone up on my panel I can’t hear them and I’ve tried everything to get it to work but the mics only let people hear me and it cancels out incoming audio on the livestream
You should be able to hear people with either model. They connect with usb c and not headphone jack. This should let the computer know it’s a mic and not a “headphone” where you can’t hear people.
@@CollinMichael I use my phone when I’m out fishing and when you plug in the receiver it cancels out all incoming audio people can hear me but I can’t hear them. When you plug in the receiver you can’t hear anyone that’s the only downfall with these mics I’ve seen
@@CollinMichael and when I’m recording with my phone to make videos if I want to hear the clip I got to unplug the receiver to hear the audio on my phone. It records the audio fine but when it’s plugged in you can’t hear anything unless you unplug them
I can do the noise cancelling in the program (Final Cut Pro) I’m not switching from the original one to the so called upgrade version! It’s the same. No need to upgrade. Waste of money 😂
Yeah, the DJI Mic sounds better than the 2. Mic 2 sounds too muffled and not full. Even tho the 1 pics up some noise in the background, it's still better sounding quality and I don't mind background noise as long as it's not overly distracting. The 2 sounds too robotic, almost like if you were talking through a webcam. That's what it reminds me of.
Yeah I'm glad I just purchased the 1st gen. For me, not enough improvements to justify the extra $$. Also, can't stand the new look with the shiny plastic. No idea why they chose to do that. Mics should be unseen, so matte and black just makes the most sense
Ok cool..I thought I was crazy that the Mic 1 sounds way better. Lol. Mic 1 has a bunch more rich and natural sound. Much more dynamic range. Mic 2 sounds more isolated but much more digitally processed.
We do sawmill action content. Very noisy. Also my voice can peak more than anyone else. Noise cancel and 32 bit. So I ordered the dji mic 1 on accident through the osmo action 4 vlog bundle( should have been paying attention my bad). Now debating on returning mic1 for mic2. Knowing that I have alot of background noise with a sawmill. And alot of ppl think the mic1 sounds better. Should I swap for mic2 or keep mic1?
Thank u. And once I get started. What is a descent mic to probably start with. Cause I see a lot of people wearing them on. A shirt or coat if their out side. I just figured that a mic would help if I had phone set up on a tripod While I was showing putting in a light switch or something like that or out in garden. Doing something. And later what kind of camera would u recommend. Thank u for all your support
I think I'll get the DJI Mic 1 after seeing a couple of videos like yours where I definitely think it sounds better than the Mic 2 even on my macbook speakers, the noise cancellation feature doesn't sound amazing, I would rather do it in post on segments if necessary
Thanks so much for everything after watching all your videos and understanding the power of editing have been able to take my channel from 0 to 10 views to about 100 views which is a huge step but an still growing @TNTechTitanGamer
Mic 2 with ANC sounds like typical guy on business google meeting talking through laptop mic
great video bro. Makes me feel good about buying the 1
Bro, at 3:04 when you swapped to the Osmo internal audio, i literally paused the video to take my airpods out because I thought the audio had swapped to my computer speakers 😂
glad I got the DJI Mic1 it sounds better than the 2
Such a practical and straight to the point video man keep the good work 😎
Fantastic video thank you for this. I went with the 1, very happy I did.

Thanks for the review. The way you review is very useful and efficient.
thanks for the thorough sound quality review, that was really helpful. When I buy it will be through your link!
Great video. Thank you!

Great and helpful video. Truly appreciated!
Thanks for the review, just bought a Mic 2
Thank you very much for review🎉❤
Great comparison video. Thanks!

Have you got an answer to you question? I really need a mic setup for car content✌🏽

Happy to stay with one , more than enough for what I do.
Helpful. Many thanks.
Thank you so much for the review:)
Thanks man! You helped me decide haha!
Is it me or does the DJI Mic 1 sound better?
The DJI mic 2 sounds a little nasally. I prefer the mic 1 it sounds more clear and has a bit more bass when talking. Thanks for the comparison it has helped me decide which mic to buy.
How well does the noise canceling work if you are in a retail store with music in the background that might cause a copyright infringement on your TH-cam video?
Are both sound quality with the receiver on?
What about the Bluetooth component? Is that worth getting the 2 over the 1?
Nah. Bluetooth can be sketchy and it’s easy enough to plug in the receiver
Can you use the 2 while live streaming when I do a livestream on streamyard I can use the mics but when I bring someone up on my panel I can’t hear them and I’ve tried everything to get it to work but the mics only let people hear me and it cancels out incoming audio on the livestream

Ahhhh gotcha yes a phone will have that issue. Definitely annoying.
@@CollinMichael will that still happen with the 2 since it has Bluetooth would you be able to hear on a livestream?
I feel like light ambient noise improves The video sound design
I can do the noise cancelling in the program (Final Cut Pro) I’m not switching from the original one to the so called upgrade version! It’s the same. No need to upgrade. Waste of money 😂
Exactly. It’s basically software noise canceling built in which most editing softwares have.
Great comparison video. I will be ordering the new DJI Mic 2. Thank you for the information 🙏🙏🙏

DJI uploaded an update for the mic 2! Most videos I have seen sound better (with the update) and more full now, but not all videos.
Does anyone know if I can buy the DJI mic 2 transmitter only if I have the Mic 1 transmitter and receiver?
I would like to know...
@@Jaimedaniel86I just spoke with DJI.. they said I can just buy the Mic 2 transmitter
@@bikergirl254did you try this out and did it work? I heard the same thing but it didn’t actually work when they got the transmitter
You can just buy the 1 piece and use the onboard recorder and sync it in post.

How do you sync the audio with video?
On camera say '1 2 3 sync' and clap on the word sync. Then match up the video with the audio track in the edit program.
The biggest difference is no Bluetooth for mic 1
You cannot use it without receiver
The noise cancelling is terrible! It makes the audio sound horrible.
Thank u. I m watching all so I see the list. I wrote to soon before I watch all. Sorry.
The sound has gotten worse!
Totally agree. We sent ours back
keep your money and take the 1
I’m keeping my 1 👍
I only use 32-bit float. :-) I don't grasp why people use 24-bit
I actually like the One ….
Ok cool..I thought I was crazy that the Mic 1 sounds way better. Lol.
Mic 1 has a bunch more rich and natural sound. Much more dynamic range.
Mic 2 sounds more isolated but much more digitally processed.
Def gonna pick up the 1. During your rapid back and fourth, the 1 sounded better to me. The 2 sounded a bit muffled and "robotic" lol.
I just picked that one up

Absolutely can get buy with just your iphone 11. :) Getting a mic can happen later even if you want to wait till you get monetized on TH-cam.

I'll stick to 1 it looks better and sounds better .. dji 2 is to fat and it looks like cheap plastic.. glossy is no go!
For me mic 1 sounds better than mic 2 when compared with noise cancelling turned off. Mic 2 very muffled with noise cancelling on.
DJI 2 sounds Muffled ane crapy, I returned mine back, even the DJI Mic 1 sounds better.
Remove DJi Mic 2 from cart 🛒:
Dji Mic 1 back in business.
DJI mic 1 sounds way better. Tf lol
Exactly! It’s ridiculous
I think it’s cause the mic 2 has noise cancellation on
And also looks much better
You have ear problems

Both useless..
Totally agree, all the benefits of 2 are completely useless in most of my recorded cases. Thanks a lot for this👍.
I'll keep the 1 lol. Thanks for confirming
