I once saw a lady say "if woman weren't wearing such revealing outfits they wouldn't get sexually assaulted " and when I called her out on how awful that was, considering a lot of people getting Sexually assaulted are younger children, and y'know, that shouldn't be an issue in the first place, she said as an exuse that she was a woman, so she can't be wrong about that. And I just sat there in disbelief.
My neighbor is also a woman and sexist against other women. Usually when you think about sexism, you think that its criticizing the opposite sex. But nope.
My grandma is always saying really sexist thing like how Im going to need to cook for my husband, that Im going to be cleaning a lot so I need to learn everything and start practicing right now. Im sure you know it gets annoying.
@@nino6616 that doesn't exactly make it right. And I see your point but constantly reminding me that, that's all Im meant for even when I've said Im not interested in that life is.
Diversity hires are a thing, and it often leads to people of the favored group being seen as less capable, even if they happen to be hired based on merit.
I had such a similar work experience at a game store that I worked at. From woman too. When she said "actually from women." instantly I was like "YEAH I KNOW RIGHT?" I actually had a woman look at me and go "We don't understand anything about this video games, right sweetie? Just goes over our heads" dead ass. not even joking. I was like I had to step away. Also, having woman come to me asking me "where are the girl games at" and I gesture to the entire store and say "right here. I've played almost all of them." It honestly shocked me how I would tell a woman something about a game but she wouldn't believe me until my male co-worker told her. Junk blows my mind. Yikes.
RazorGlitter these stories always annoy me because well I’m a nerdy guy and know a lot a of nerdy people and a large chunk are girls I know so many girls that know just as much about rpgs as me. In many cases she had known more about certain franchises than me by a long shot. The part that really annoys me is in these stories the female workers were giving the exact pitch I would have so it’s just quite annoying. It’s like people enjoy what they enjoy. If someone says they can help you then let them and if they aren’t doing it well enough then ask.
I hate when some people just like cut a line between girls and boys and that happened to me So me and my mom was going shopping since I saw this hoodie I really liked and as fast as we come there a short black haired girl approaches us and almost screams in my face: “HELLO, MAY I HELP YOU?” And then she gave me this smile I answered: “Uhm.. No- No thank you” And as I was walking towards the BOY section (I usually go to the boy section since I like the hoodies etc there +I’m none binary) This lady decides to grab my arm with my mother rushing after me! I was trying to get out of her grip but she straight up borrowed me! Then she stopped by a pink fluffy jacket and smiled at me “This is where you should go!” My mother then gave her a glare and we went on trying to find that one hoodie. We didn’t see her again when we were in that shop.
This is exactly the same in makeup store : boys and girls usually say to a male seller "sry but you won't know what i'm looking for because you're a boy". I hear that all the time and that's so sad ! I just wish people could stop making assumptions based on gender ! Thank you so much for this video though it was brilliant
Once I wore a suit to a party, I loved my outfit and my friends told me it looked great, when I was there an older woman about age 50 walked up to me and said why are you wearing that? I looked at her very confused and she said, “Men should be wearing that, is that your brothers?” I said “No, I enjoy wearing these” a little frustrated and she said “girls don’t belong in that! Why don’t you put on a dress instead” like BRUH I wanna wear my suit ;0;
@@squirrelbeez5123 if they think they, as women, can't wear suits, it's their problems. But coming to you and arguing what you can wear and can't wear? Like, guys, you're not my mom! 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Once I went to a make up store to buy a foundation, I really needed help because I didn't know what would have work for my weird skin but I wanted to do it a try, tge moment I entered the store all the women working there looked at me like I was trash, literally trash, the only one who tried to help was a guy that tells me "I see desperation in your eyes, don't worry I'll help you" the cutest thing ever btw
This reminds me of a time when I was a bus girl. I was pouring water at a table when a mother said to her grown son that anime was just for boys. I blurted out "no it isn't" and was then hit with the realization that I probably shouldn't have said that. But the mom apologized, said SHE was the one who misspoke, and the son asked me what anime I watched. So everything turned out fine for me, haha.
@@madisonlecong6083 The first ones I ever watched were Soul Eater and Bleach, both of which are good. (Bleach is quite long though.) I would also recommend Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
@@madisonlecong6083 for more lighthearted stories check out one punch man and gintama! I also recommend my hero academia because that has a great story too!
This reminds me of people who get angry when toys are not sepatated for girls and boys in shops. They're like "How am I supposed to know what to buy for my kids?" and they don't realize how incredibly sad that sounds.
How can you even separate the toys? Okay, Barbie for girls and Action Man for boys... What about nerf, cars, Lego, plush toys, sport inventory etc? Maybe kids know what they want much better than parents?
@@rainandhail67 To be honest I have only heard of these people, and never experienced them myself. I just have heard from others that people who think this way exists.
i’m allergic to cats bruh that was a year ago- but it depends also. If it’s a public place, I have too agree to an extent but if it’s a private place, that’s messed up. Also if there’s children? I mean that’s sorta messed when by children. Depends on the context.
Busi Mpofu nothing really, it’s just not... most covering... thing you can wear in public, in private their okay IMO, but if there’s going too be children I don’t think that’s the best thing too wear around them. If it’s a place where everyone’s 18+ and okay with it, then go ahead!
This happens all over the world. I work at a Best Buy in Colorado, and I experience these issues all the time. Being a female who knows computers intimately enough to build my own, I would say I know well enough to help anyone pick a computer that is right for them. For some reason though I get quite a few customers who, when I ask them if I can help them find something, they gloss over me, tell me know, then turn around not even a minute later and ask one of my male co-workers where they could find what they were looking for. Needless to say it frustrates me to no end. Apparently having boobs qualifies me as brain dead about technology :D
Hello , am male and wanted to know where i can check really good websites about S class model or any kind of buissnes class model laptops for my work and studies. Also be it used laptops or new ones it does not matter. Yours sincerely, random guy.
+Enocia Every generation naturally gets less sexist (with just a few bad eggs in the bunch). If you’re over 35, you’ll probably think it’s strange that women are getting into positions that men mostly occupied during their upbringing. It’s a natural but slow process that can make certain people impatient (like SJWs, who are people that I personally find annoying). I’m sorry that happened to you and hope that you don’t have to deal with this problem TOO much. :/
I am actually 32, so close. XD It doesn't bother me terribly much, it's just silly to me. I work in the computers department for a reason XD You would think people would know that if I am there I should know what I am talking about.
Parents and grandparents in game stores might be the shittiest experience ever. YET! I managed to catch a good one when I worked at my local shop. This old man comes up and asks me if we "by any chance" had a copy of Starcraft. This was right after Legacy of the Void launched and we got a lot of complete editions of Starcraft 2 around. I show it to him and ask if it's for his grandson or something. "What? Nah it's for me!" Old dude then proceeded to explain how he bought a Playstation out of curiosity 20 years ago and got interested in gaming and that he just made the transition to PC.
João Ribeiro why is it that if your 100 year old mother or GF plays Nintendo Wii over PC master race and you have to get them a copy of Mario for the Wii that it's a shit experience? You are not at expo or a game conference or a video game event. You are working in GAME, CEX, Game Station or Game Stop. You mostly get casual gamers in there as it's not the place for PC. Go work at PC world, Currys, Maplins or Valve/Bethesda.
João Ribeiro no it pisses you off that a 70 year old gamer is not part of the PC master race but is a console peasent instead, so you have to get up your arse and get that crappy Wii game rated 3 and over for that customer or you get the sack.
João Ribeiro "Parents and grandparents in game stores might be the 💩SHITTIEST💩 experience ever" Why is it so shit getting a old lady a Wii game that a shit on a PC snobby people race.
"No. We need to find one of the boys..." "Excuuuuuuse me, MA'AM, but my DONKEY KONG SHIRT and your meandering points to ME being the expert on games here. SO buy the HECCING WII AND PLAY TENNIS WITH YOUR GRANDKIDS!!" ...is how the situation should've gone down. Excellent as always. I really love your art style.
Well, obviously I didn't 'just know' pokemon. C'mon, I have a rich background in Tomb Raider, Dino Crisis, The Longest Journey, Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine... ANIMAL CROSSING even. I just thought of the first game I ever really enjoyed in that adrenaline fueled moment.
This reminds me of some oldish ladies at the bookshop I work at. When recommending books for their grandsons, they frequently express concerns that it's not "boyish" enough/it's too girly. I recommended a graphic novel series called "Space Boy" (note the "boy" in the title) and the grandma/mom decided against it because it had a girl on the cover. (To be fair a girl is the main character at first but BOYS CAN ENJOY READING ABOUT FEMALE PROTAGONISTS. I would like to shout that from the rooftops. The series was written/drawn by a man and had a very balanced cast of male and female characters, with neutral themes. Plus the other main character was male. Overall not only was it not really "girly" at all, it shouldn't matter that it had girls in the first place). I'm sure that some boys do feel squeamish about having anything to do with "girly" things but I think that has a lot more to do with parents and other adults reinforcing this idea than the inherent aversion of boys towards girls. Worse than this is the consequences that this sort of reinforcement can have in the long run. First off, even if cooties are a big fear for a little boy, he will eventually grow out of that; but if adults continually reinforce the idea that boys cannot like anything that is related to girls, eventually that boy may grow into a man who is alienated from women, disdains them, and objectifies them. I find that often sexism is not as obvious in the day to day lives of adults as it is in the way we raise children. That is, after all, how the cycle continues.
I think this is down to the women growing up in an environment where they have been taught what a woman's place is and what they can and can't do. It's mainly a generational thing but it's also a problem with people from certain countries or people who have a traditionalist family who have held onto the prejudices and preconceptions. As the decades go on it gets better but hasn't died out yet like other things have yet. I'm mean there are still racists who believe black people are less intelligent. In the end there are still people who will believe this prejudice bullshit. I also kind of feel sorry for those women as it means they don't think highly enough about there sex or gender to believe that they to can understand what some people call boy stuff. Even though back when game consoles were coming out they were pitched to the whole family. It was only the video game crash that forced companies to target children and then they only had the money to tragedy either boys or girls. In the end they chose boys. So in another world the games industry could have easily chosen girls as the target market for games consoles.
So glad my mum treated me and my sister the same way she did my brothers. She brought us up to realise really we are all equals and preconceptions are a product of society that we don't need to conform to. Guess not every one was so fortunate.
The person who invented software programming in the first place was Ada Lovelace. In the early days of computers as the book Innovators talks about, software was seen as a woman’s job, and hardware was seen as a man’s. Now these days has somehow regressed to thinking everything techie is only for men.
@Grillidan One of the biggest gaming markets for women are hidden objects games. And one of the core mechanics for hidden object games is puzzle solving. The reason why less women are interested in software development is that society tells them that women shouldn't be interested in software development. Common stereotypes influence people's choices. Also IQ as a measurement of intelligence is basically meaningless. It was invented to determine whether school children were ready to graduate to another class. The reason why it became as big as it got was that people just like the thought of an objective measurement for intelligence existing. The only thing that it tells you is that you are better or worse at solving the specific problems featured in the IQ-test.
I avoided this video the first time it was in my recommendations, given the kindve videos that you regularly see about sexism in the game industry. But I was really suprised to see a level headed video about actual events. Not a video about someone interpreting someones greeting as bigoted, racist, sexist...etc But real events in which you were actually descriminated against that I'm sure was a real eye opener for some. I particularly enjoyed this because most sexism against men is from other men as well from my experience and I think alot of people need to end the battle of the sexes and look at themselves and what prejudices they have.
This was the exact same reaction I had. It's just so sad how the new feminists screaming wolf has made everyone so desensitized to someone playing the sexist card. This video was great regardless.
i feel like like apologizing cause i also though here come another pc feminist nonsense. but ur story was very honest. so, sorry. mb also ur art look really cool, i blame that too.
David O I was surprised to and actually clicked on the video because i wanted to see more feminist freakouts but im gald i found a video that wasnt full of a women screaming non-scinical bullshit. Plus i subscribed :)
Alexplayz That’s not an evil practice. I’m happy to be a powerup rewards member. I’ve gotten free shit because of my points, and I didn’t have to spend a fortune to get them either.
Boys can play video games. Girls can play video games. We can all play video games. It doesn’t even matter if your good at them. *Can we all just get along?*
Ampeag G. Yah I know there are some girls out there who are not bad but in all of the tech classes I’ve been in the girls seems bored, disinterested, and lacking in knowledge of what we were doing. I’m not trying to sound sexist that’s just my experience
When I started working in my current retail job I was working with a more experienced female sales person. It amazed me how often people would listen to me, the new guy, when they wouldn't listen to her, the experience worker with all the product knowledge. Thanks for sharing.
Damian Walls, happened a lot in tech support too. I dunno how many times I was called up and was straight up told to transfer to a male tech before I had a chance to resolve anything. Internal transfers were prohibited on these grounds so thankfully it had the built-in revenge of the customer needing to go back through the automated voice routing system. Eventually I got onto a conract so small that every member of the team was within koosh ball throwing distance. Calls could take eons because techs on the other end sometimes needed to hike between the printer and router. Oftentimes someone like this would call in, debate furiously about how I should be able to transfer them to a guy, hang up, go through the routing system again and ping the next available tech... Me. I once had a guy go three times around and boy was he pissed. All other techs were on massivly long calls and I had the fortune of just getting a bunch of short burnout calls (cold reset, re-seat it, still not working, here's a new one). The guy was every second call three times in a row. Demanded he be transferred to a manager who did have the power to transfer calls between agents but the manager refused to transfer him based on sexist bull (he was an awesome manager). The manager told him that all the techs are equally capable of solving his problem and that if he wants to he can play ring-around-the-routing system all bloody day as far as he was concerned. The guy hung up and called back and got THE ONLY OTHER FEMALE TECH ON THE CONTRACT. At this point we were all aware of the drama unfolding and laughing our collective asses off with mute button employed. The guy gave in, worked with the tech who cleared his problem in 7 minutes. Each time going through routing probably killed between 5-10 minutes. It was a little insulting but damn was it ever funny.
When I worked at a game store I got the same issues. For me it was mostly guys that I had issues with, but it wasn't that common. The best justice was the one time a guy came in wanting to buy a new game system to play with his bros. I starting talking to him and tried to see what he wanted (basically he wanted to play sports games and shooter games and playing DVDs was a bonus). My other co-worker (a Nintendo fanboy) chimed in and started pitching the Gamecube to him. The guy immediately stopped talking to me and only listened to my co-worker. Once I realized he was ignoring me I shrugged and let him buy the wrong system. Don't get me wrong, the Gamecube is an awesome system, but not the one this guy wanted.
I work in a tech shop - sells computer parts, cameras, lenses, general electronics and we do repairs. I do notice how majority of customers wanting something will go straight to my male colleagues (even if they're busy and I'm not). Once I was training a new male staff member and a lady was asking him questions about specific product (that I knew he told me he had no knowledge in and he looked baffled) so I stepped in and answered her question and she gave the rudest look and said 'Sorry love, I'd rather this man help me'. I was shocked but politely replied 'Ahh well sorry I interrupted but *Mark is new here and he's not fully trained on this product yet' and Mark backed me up and said 'Yeah sorry she knows way more than me on this!' and she just looked me up and down and said 'Oh. Okay then. Well thanks but I think i'll have to come back with my husband'.... Which baffled me. Why didn't she give me a chance? Why did she need her husband now? Judge me on my knowledge/ability and not because you'd prefer a man's help.....
It was a reasonable assumption, a point in the defense of moms though: Being a parent can be really stressful as I have learned from experience(Father of 2). Doesn´t excuse this particular moms behavior but I really do have some more sympathy for rude moms nowadays ^^
@Rani Khatri People take out frustration on people who are not the cause of it all the time. It´s not right but it´s not unusual either :P @Kilravok I think it might be a parent issue but since mothers usually drag a heavier load when it comes to kids they are the ones you notice. But this is just speculation!
@Rani Khatri How old are you? In psychology it's called "displacement," if that helps at all...? Have you seriously *never been in a bad mood and acted in a way you didn't like afterwards?
But whether they enjoyed it, doesn't mean they have to comment on it , if I had to comment on every cameo in ready player one, I would need a list that would take 30 minutes to read, so people can enjoy a cameo, but this comment section seems more to discuss issues of sexism in gaming culture than a reference by another TH-camr
BOT5BOT Yet the TH-cam comment section is public and if someone has something to say, whether or not it targets the matter that other people are targeting, they can say it. Going by your logic no one "needs" to comment on anything, a comment is usually what THEY have to say, and this person wanted to talk about the odd1sout which is well within her right
I worked in game and game station for years, I never had sexism from any people who worked there and 99.99% of all customers were fantastic and not sexist in the slightest. However... The worst encounter I had - A gentleman phoned the store and I picked up, he asked for help with his PC and installing a specific game. I asked him what the game was but he cut me off mid sentence and said "Could you please put me on the phone with a man". I was shocked, but did as he requested and placed a senior member of staff on the phone to him. The guy asked, "I need someone to help me with my PC, can you put on the most qualified person to help with PC's please" and my colleague more than obliged and passed the phone right back to me. The customer was then the one in shock, told me the game and I helped him through his issue. He really was apologetic and in the end, I think he learnt not to prejudge.
You: How rude. Why does he have to be so prejudging? Him: Phew. Couldn't let her know I had trouble installing HuniePop on my PC. At least that would've been a fun outcome. The actual one is much more satisfying. A shame you had to go through the sexism to begin with but glad it was resolved.
One upon a time in a small town in America I went to game stop to buy some games and vinyl pops with my dad, This was a couple days ago, keep in mind I’m fairly young.below 13. While we were looking for vinyls(BHNA cough cough) One of the female cashiers comes up and asks “Which one are you looking for?” I turn around the Tsuyu box and point at the deku one.because I’m too awkward to say his name in such a small store, revealing I’m the biggest nerd in all of my town. To make this easier C=Cashier MCD=My Cool Dad M=Me C:”oh you want Deku?” M:”y-yeah”(I stutter when I’m nervous) C goes behind the checkout and comes back C:”sorry we don’t have Deku at the moment,do you want All Might and Ochako or just Tsuyu and Aizawa?”she said, pointing at my pops I had cradled in my arm like they we’re legit my children. M:“No I’m good,” I decided to investigate M:“H-how do you know their names?” C:”I’m a anime fan myself.i really like MHA too” You would’ve thought I just got a puppy because I had one of those anime girl scenes where my face just. Lit up. MCD:”can we also get a Minecraft game?” (In this game stop they have all there games behind the register) C:”of course!” She came back with a Minecraft game and asked if that’s all MCD:”Yep” While she was ringing out all our stuff C:”is this all for you?”looking at me M:”yeah actually” C:”it makes me so happy when little girls come here and buy cool stuff, have a nice day” She handed us our bags,we thanked her and left That was the best day of my life and the most anti-sexist experience I’ve had in my few years of life as a gamer and otaku.
I've had something pretty similar happen to me at Walmart. There was an elderly lady that needed help finding things around the store, which is pretty normal for my Walmart. I walked around and helped her find things, and one of the things she needed was some batteries for her tv remotes. She told me that when we were done she was going to need to find a young man to help her put the batteries into the tv remotes. Yes I a 19 year old female that has changed batteries out of so many things over the years couldn't possibly know how to do that. To be fair she literally did not know how to put batteries into a remote, but you know to assume that only because I am female I wouldn't know how was crazy to me. She did let me show her how, and she did seem really shocked that i knew how to do it. You know it's still crazy to me because it was just regular AA and AAA batteries in standard tv remotes that is so universal, at least I thought.
Haha, wow. Not even knowing how to put batteries in a remote is pretty extreme. I hope that elderly lady learned to not immediately judge women like this...
Let's give her a little bit of credit, she didn't even know how to work batteries. She obviously wasn't very caught up with the times, and at least she wasn't being rude she just didn't know. Old people aren't always upto date with stuff :3
PlantsWithPantz I mean, she came from a time of patriarchy, the time were they though women are incompetent in stuff outside the housewife role and that the man is the one who must do and know everything
TechnoKnight exactly. Which is why I'm trying to be understanding with her, because the way I see it, if they arent outwardly rude or disrespectful or unable to try to understand something about gender roles, if they really are confused or came from a different time, I don't blame them. Especially with a lady like this :)
I had a similar battery experience. I sold a little toy dog that kids can walk. It takes a few steps, barks, wags it's tail, and then keeps walking. The lady came back two hours later. She came storming in saying, "I bought this today and I want to exchange it! It doesn't work and I had to drive an hour back to the store for this! I can't believe it!" I was like, sure, no problem ma'am. Go ahead and pick another one out while I make sure the dog is in returnable condition. It looked fine. I went to pop the batteries out when I noticed that they were put in backwards...So I put them in correctly. She came back and saw it working. I explained what happened and she started to apologize for being rude. She took it back without any more complaints.
I am a professional photographer and I once got very surprised and a little angry when I answered a client call asking for the business owner to discuss a possible booking. I said "That's me, how can I help?" And I got the reply "That's nice of you but if you don't mind I would prefer to speak to your boss, is HE around?" I explained there must've been a misunderstanding and that the company that had been called genuinely was my business. I couldn't believe that the person on the phone just assumed that because a woman's voice answered the call then it must have be the secretary or something 😒 BTW it was a woman on the phone
KS this happens all too often. I have a friend who's a freelance camera operator... She does wedding videos in between industry jobs. I know for a fact that she has had issues with people turning her down for work after realising she's a woman, and asking to speak to her boss.
Ahaha, that is an evergreen, happened so many times to me albeit in a different format. In my case, my mother is very hardworking, and reached a peak of success where there are very few women. Just yesterday, I was buying glasses from a lady in her shop, and we were lovingly chit chatting. It happened she told me about a vacation she was going to do, and I gave her a few pieces of advice. When asked how I knew so much I explained that my mother was assigned in that region as a "governor", and I lived with her there for a few years... yet in the following conversation, the shop lady kept saying "... so your father did this and that...". It mattered not my answering with "yes my mother", she kept assuming I was somehow mixing my parents. I kinda of suppose this happens mostly with women for a reason: men do not really think about how hard is working for women, because they are not affected by it. Averagely, no man is really more surprised by a woman success than of a man success, because working is taken for granted and there is nothing strange if someone is able to excel. Yet all women FEEL the weight of the discrimination done by those that actively really hold a prejudice. And depending on the society, it may be so massive to the point that the women are the first to assume it is highly improbable for a woman to hold a certain position of power, or that certain realms of knowledge are beyond reach. We are yet to really breach gender understanding.
I used to work in Maplin Electronics, and one of the shift managers was a woman. Once she answered the phone to some guy who thought that she was a secretary or admin worker for the store. Like he didn't just not think that she could have been a manager, he didn't even think she could be a sales assistant capable of giving product advice.
Pierfrancesco Greco Yeah, I know some women who can't seem to comprehend other, more successful or athletic women. It always weirds me out. It reminds me of an old friend of mine who's white, despises white people and desperately tries to act black, because I don't know. You expect this sort of thing from people who AREN'T so close to what they're ignorant to. You get what I'm trying to say?
Amy: *is a helpful, smart sweetheart to customer* Female customer: *”uH yEaH, i’Ll aSk tHe mEn FoR hELp bC yOu’Re a GirL ThAt uNdErStAnDs ViDeOgAmEs”* Me: *DISGUSTANG* 😡🤬😤
It really pisses me off when people go around the side of a queue at a checkout just so they can ask a question to someone who is currently busy serving someone else. Realistically, we all know what each person is thinking despite what they're saying: CUSTOMER (THINKING) - "This line is too long! I can't be bothered to wait in this queue! I'm going to cut across so I don't have to wait!" CUSTOMER (SAYING) - "Excuse me! Can I ask you a quick question!?" STAFF (SAYING) - "I'm currently serving, just bare with me for one second!" STAFF (THINKING) - "Are you stupid!? Can you not see I'm already serving someone and that there's a huge queue! Get to the back of the line!"
The only time I'll do this is if it's to ask to get the bathroom key at Starbucks or something. Sorry but I'm not waiting in a five minute line just to get handed a key that's right there behind the desk, especially if I really need to go. But if it's basically anything else, I agree, hella rude!
+Always Right why? That's the problem with young folks these days. You don't want to improve on yourselves and think it's okay to bolster your inadequacies. Proportionality matters, crying while trying to do your job just shows you're unsuitable with working with people in a "JOB THAT REQUIRES YOU TO DEAL WITH PEOPLE". If you can't control yourself and choose to be a child your entire life then quit. No one is forcing you to be there.
crying while trying to do your job just shows you're a human being with feelings and your physical and emotional health is more important to your body than whether or not you fucking cry at work because one cries doesn't mean one doesn't improve. there are plenty of girls who cry over virtually nothing. many of them are in the Olympics
I always hate when people say that sexism is always with men. Like no women are most likely to be sexist towards other women and children. And it's worse. Like seriously
The people who dont like to acknowledge female sexism would take that info and spin it to say the male patriarchy convinces women to insult eachother to systemically opress them. What can ya do, what can ya do
Exactly! Not even towards women only, I've seen tons of men be demonized by people whom says they just want "equality". Lady, equality is all about being a better person what logic do you have to have as to blatantly be sexist towards other gender??? Cause we've been "victims" for a long time?? That is NOT an excuse!
My girlfriend used to work at Apple and had to deal with this shit all day. I can't believe we're not past this - though on the plus side it does seem to be the older generations that think it. Maybe we just have to wait for them to die.
It's already politically controversial. Only thing is it's not recognized by anyone other than those that fight it and their groups or in a public setting. It's ignored in mass media, newspapers, movies and social media (towards men and boys sadly).
I kind of understand as a gamer who loves playing the kiddy games and I still play pokemon I got judged by the kids that came to my department until we started to talk. And I never play the shooters or the sports games so people would kind of judge my gamerness for that too. I even had a woman hell at me for recommending "girl" games even though that's what someone asked for and my general policy is that games are for all people of all kinds the subject matter doesn't matter as long as you like it. Obviously I've never been looked down on for being a male gamer, but I find it odd that people would've of still thought girl gamers don't exist I mean most of my friends I game with are girls.
EXACTLY. I'm personally not big into shooters unless they have big story driven elements...I mean there are exceptions to the rule, like OW. But most of my guy friends LOVE Animal Crossing, which on face value looks a little 'girly'... But it just goes to show that these stereotypes are BS, and people should feel free to enjoy whatever games they like!
Jaxon Moreno that somewhat applies to CoD players too, only they might cover the skill part. They have refined their shooting skills, but they forget that overwatch is a team based game where you have to accomplish objectives to win like TF2 and they spend more time trying to go Rambo for their K/D ratio that nobody cares
ugh see this all the time. my manager being the only male in our small team and he could be asking customers if they need a hand with anything and theyll walk straight past him to the other side of the shop to talk to one of us (the female employees) and because its a jewellery shop they probably have this stupid thought that only women know jewellery or better yet when a woman outright REFUSED his help and asked for a woman employee and its so so ridiculous but hey their loss, my managers probably the nicest out of all of us. :D
People often make too many snap judgements about employees, honestly. My boyfriend is a plumber, working at his dad's company, and has been for 3 years. He's probably one of the best plumbers in the area, having more hands on experience and a good grasp of how to solve most problems. But because he's 21 and has a bit of a younger look to him, often the clients act like he doesnt know anything. Almost every time, though, they will reluctantly let him work and just praise him on how professional and good at it he is.
Good God, this was one of the realest videos I have ever seen! It's so sincere and I find myself relating so much to what you say even though we are from completely different demographics! Taking a job you like, the craziness that is the Overwatch chat, overzealous store employees, and even difficulty understanding what some children are saying are all things I can totally understand, especially given the chill way you describe them! When you were talking about that first lady who walked away from you, I was literally thinking "well if she won't follow me to the Turtle headphones I guess I'll just have to take the Turtle headphones to her!" And then you did that exact same thing! This is the first video of yours I've seen and I'm seriously impressed and entertained. Thanks for this little slice of life, I seriously can't wait to see more! Please keep it this real in future videos!
I just wrote some words, you were the one why made this video! We should be the ones thanking you! In fact, I might as well do that! Thank you for this video! Once again, I'm looking forward to you future vids with much anticipation!
I work for Geek Squad, and most of the clients that ask to "Speak to one of the guys" are older women. I've had a few instances with sexist men, but those usually fall along the lines of remarks such a "I didn't know their were WOMEN geek squad!?" Where as the sexist women tend to be much more aggressive. "I want to work with someone who actually knows what they're doing... a man!"
Alot of it largely has to do with the perception Non gamers have that only men are gamers. And that all we like are FPS's and Sports games. When in fact im a man & i love the Dragon Quest series.
@Maximus 8414 FlashGitz, Mashed, CircleToonsHD and so on. There's a lot British animators but we don't just realise it as most animators, when voice acting, change their voice enough to sound completely foreign.
@@grumpyguy112 But we're not equal. We're very different in both physiology and psychology. Equal worth as human beings, certainly, but that's not the same as equal.
A terrible thing i would've done in your second shoes would be to ask the husband his opinion because he would (obviously) know better. ;) my typical sexist gamer story: It starts around a pre-order of Soul Calibur 5. Me and my brother head into our local GameStop, I want to preorder SCV, and my brother just wants to know what the upcoming games are. So I walk up to the registers(because it was dead silent), and my brother follows because the list for the new games is there. a clerk makes his way over to the registers and goes through the store shpeal. I guess we startled him, and he didn't realize anyone was in the store. So i just tell him I'm interested in pre-ordering the new soul caliber game on xbox 360. and the clerk turns his head to my brother and goes "Yeah the game is really great. I love the graphics and combo styles for the new characters." and my brother just smiles and nods, and I add "I hope they still have my favorites like Talim,Tika and Mitsu" the clerk glaces over and goes "they're in it." and starts asking my brother his favorite character. He looks over to me and goes "who's the one with the rapier?" and the clerk butts in and goes "Oh! Raphael! He's pretty nice." and my brother just look at the clerk and goes "I dont really play the game much, my sister loves it though." and the clerk turns red like a beet and rings up my preorder and we both walk out.
@@ttnn123456789 Except, that's their job? Try to apply that to literally any other profession. No, I can't help X customer because I "don't feel comfortable"? If someone is so incompetent that they can't interact with customers, they have no business working there in the first place.
There are a few flaws but maybe I'm wrong. First one is that, is your brother younger or, if so then they may think that the little one wants it. Second is that maybe the person thought that the one that wanted it was your brother because he said things about it, like their graphics or whatever. Third is that maybe the person was just talking to your brother but his face turned red... Idk I still think it's a lil bit rude tho
Uggghhh I’ve seen sexism in the gaming industry wayyyy to many times. I’m female and I can go on about my favorite games for hours. But when I show this video game-knowledgeable side of me to my mom’s friends or older Karen-generation women in general, they always act surprised that a girl knows so much about video games or even plays them! And I’m getting sick of those reactions of ignorant amusement. 🙄
It’s usually the older generation of women who don’t believe in the young women to know something that “boys” should know😔 and even sometimes women around your age or younger makes that assumption as well. It’s kind of annoying. But some households still hold up that video games are for boys and not for girls. Soooo 🤷♀️ but I feel you girl don’t worry
I've had my mother tell my that I treat girls, "Too much like guys," sometimes, so it's good to hear the female perspective and know that it's a generational thing and not a me thing.
I work at a shoe store and none of the girls will ask any of the male employees for shoe help. I get it but like, don't worry they are trained and they like shoes too.
@@munkebo96 The last time I bought shoes (about 8 months ago) the dude who served me did. I asked about these trainers, told him what I was looking for and he suggested a different pair instead. He came back out with a box and gestured for me to sit down, he took my shoe off and put the new one on.
I clicked this video when it popped in my recommendations out of pure curiosity and WOW im stunned. Like when you dropped the bomb and was like "Oh yeah these sexist comments came from women" I was like spit taking xD I too have a similar issue but almost in reverse im a 32 year 6ft tall large dude and i work.......at Build-A-Bear. I mean i LOVE the job i do but im also like the ONLY dude there and all to often do i get the looks of 'You should not be doing THIS kind of work' so to some degree i know where you're coming from. Though admittedly ive never had an issue like that xD. This was my first vid of yours ive watched but i love how they are presented so imma check out a few more soooo expect a new sub too :D Great story
After having worked at Game from Oct/2008-Feb/2018 I definitely saw this kind of sexism take place in the stores I worked at from various people. Some would outright disregard a female member of staff in front of me and turn to ask me a question. I’d sometimes respond by saying ‘she actually knows more about that than I do’. Besides this there’s 10 years of experiences I could put down but best not haha awesome video!!
No idea why this was in my recommended but I'm glad it was. I was expecting the usual politically motivated story but surprised to find a genuinely entertaining video with great artwork, about actual events! Great video. I applied for Game once, I ended up with a pizza delivery job instead. I'm glad I didn't go into retail to deal with that kind of stuff; god forbid being in your shoes in that situation, I'd be livid! Not sure if you're looking to work on TH-cam full time, but the new membership feature could help you out; looks to be promising by providing the support animation channels like these need for time spent on projects and I'm sure people would be willing to back this level of quality!
Oh boy, I have something similar happen to me at my workplace. I work at an ice rink, and my basic job is to monitor on the ice (like a lifeguard, except for the ice, I look out for people who fall on the ice and may have received a concussion or other injury,) and I hand out rental skates to customers who don’t have their own to use. Apparently it used to only have guys working there for a long time, so the second another girl and I were hired it was confusing to customers for some reason? I’m not hated for being a girl and luckily I’ve never received any sort of harsh sexist remarks like you have, but I can just low key see the confusion in the customers eyes, like- “you’re a girl?? Working here??” And other times they just blatantly don’t believe me when I tell them about the skates, especially the hockey ones. Not too terrible, but I definitely feel you.
For most of them it's a matter of getting used to. They might be regulars who were very used to see male employees in the place and your presence just broke the routine
Poor kid. I imagine him working really hard just to get his Turtle Beach headphones. Just so his teammates would not be able to understand him. Also good pics with the Wii. The elderly really love those. Motion controls really seemed to make more sense to them. Boomer, Gen X, and a little amount of Millinial women are very insecure when it comes to video games. It was just the way they were brought up. I feel mostlikely they were just projecting that on to you. Luckly I feel we are getting that notion all squared away with by Gen Z. I feel the majority of guys are accepting now. If not a bit thirsty. Very parched individuals. XD
I've heard women and girls attack men and boys foir the hobby itself before so it's nothing new. In fact, we either ignore them or make fun of them in youtube videos lol. They're freakouts are sometimes always pretty hilarious xD.
Oh this has happened to me, only I work in a technical field that has a higher percentage of men than women. Very often, female clients will bypass me entirely and ask to speak to male staff because "They know about these things." Doesn't matter that I am the manager of the guys they want to talk to, no, a guy will know more because they're a guy X'D
@@unknownshade5736 How is it not sexism? The subject is neutral, so by saying "Oh women/men know more about 'neutral subject' because they are a specific gender" is incredibly sexist as well as a stereotype. It is, by it's very definition, a sexist stereotype.
Sorry that happened. It just shows that you get sexism in both genders. Its a shame that female customers can be blatantly sexist towards female game staff. It's like unexpected. Kinda sad tge women customers treated you that way. Anyway. Good vid and subscribed to your channel.
Melissa Red I just think women can be so... catty at each other, guys can be simply assholes too, but there’s definitely a big difference in methods between the two asshole variants. The good people in the field of Male and female, each good in their own ways, are the best things you can find these days. If you find a good person, hold on to them. You may not find them often.
God I wanted to scream that two women to shut up. I'm very sorry you had to bear with those prejudices and I hope you are able to ignore those kind of people by now. Also I love how much work you put in your videos! It shows not just in the drawings but also in the way your character's mouth moves. It hypnotizes me. Keep it going. I love you.
Originally though this would be a really different video (based on what TH-cam usually recommends) but was a really good listen! Great story :) - Looking forward to more.
My blood is boiling. I don't people who can be so blatantly rude. In any case the first real conversations I ever have with any member of the male sex are the ones about video games, DnD and anime. We really bond over our experiences and get so hyped over them.
so as a male working in apriceline pharmacy (a female dominated store) i fully understand the strugle. one time i asked a lady if she needed anything. she replyed asking for a product. i said "im sorry we are out of stock of that item. i have actually just done an order for it this morning." at wgich she said something about asking another staff about it. all while i am wearing a badge that lists me as the storeroom manager. i just said "ok your welcome to ask" this lady goes and asks on of the women who then bring her back to me to ask me if we have any. this lady was firly rude about "how could this boy know if you have it" she was then told again a second time i know we don't as it out of stock and i have ordered it this morning. she basicly stormed out of the shop.
Janine Cat when so many women and girls fake interest in a traditionally male hobby to make their boyfriend's happy and another large portion of women and girls fake interest in order to destroy the hobby, how the fuck do you expect us to react? Judge you as an individual? As soon as you put down the "male tears" coffee mugs. Until then fuck off.
TheGlock30owner Hey. Maybe before you get super defensive and tell someone to "Fuck off", you ought to pick a target who has demonstrated that they deserve it.
What the fuck TheGlock30owner "large portion of women and girls fake interest in order to destroy the hobby" No they don't they really don't, there isn't some black robed cabal of women sneaking into your hobby to destroy it you muppet.
I've had the same issues in Sales & Retail. Apparently I know nothing about Stitching & Hemming Quality, because I'm a straight guy... I have made & repaired the clothes of my Siblings & myself for Decades, but apparently not being Female or Gay invalidates that... I'm a fully bearded man who is quite friendly with everyone, unless given a really good reason to not be. It's Frustrating & to be honest, most of the worst things that were said have come from Women. Men do the usual thing & get cheeky about it, but is easily dismissed by me telling them "The same skill that allows me to make a dress from scratch, could save your life one day when I stitch up your bleeding artery after an accident". They instantly stop joking & start showing a little respect. One woman actually accused me & every other man working there of stealing from womankind. She Said "If it wasn't bad enough that gay men invaded Women's Fashion, now the straight men are too. It's Horrific & I wont stand for it. By the end of Today, I will have all you men Fired on the spot. Shame on you, you monsters". Also Women called me a creep on a daily basis, just because I was doing my job. I sold Dresses, Formal Wear & Fabrics. It's not like I was working in the Lingerie Department. Retail & Sales Jobs are favourite targets for vicious, cruel & miserable people who are only happy making others suffer. Gender rarely plays a part, but when it does, it's usually so utterly moronic that you wonder how they remember to breath.
Caved Man i am so sorry that you had to deal with all of that. I'm pinning all my hopes on the future generation, those sexist people will grow old and die off. I think as the years go on, sexism and other problems are being addressed.
Yeah... Not liking those chances, at least not before I turn 80 (currently 26). Not long ago in Australian Parliament there was a discussion on allowing pepper spray & other self defence items to be used & decriminalised in Australia due to public safety concerns from Women & Men, about the recent attacks that have happened. One Lady Representative of the Greens Party said "Women wouldn't need pepper spray if men weren't rapists" (Blanket statement, implying all men are rapists {How you could interpret that any other way, I do not seriously know} & highly disrespectful to the law abiding, decent men in Australia, which make up the majority 98%). To make matters worse a Male Representative from the Liberal party responded with "Well stop shagging men then". The media slammed him for his comment & demanded he apologise, yet her comment was apparently fine. I'm ashamed that either of them are still in Parliament & haven't been sacked. But the obvious double standard on who was in the wrong, just makes me depressed & want to give up on Society entirely, some times. The Suffragists would have my full support if they still existed, however the Suffragettes & their descendants (Feminists) definitely would not. Suffragists let men join their fight for equal rights & did so peacefully, with Respect & Honor. The Suffragettes were Militant Anarchists who wanted men to grovel at their feet & usually did absolutely insane things to get attention. This made it very difficult for the Suffragists to be taken seriously & actually delayed Women getting the vote by several years. Also the first action of most men after they themselves finally got the vote, even as commoners (was reserved for Lords only until 1918 in UK & 1902 in AUS), was to push for their Wives, Mothers, Sisters & Daughters to get the vote too. Does not sound like an oppressive worldwide Patriarchy to me, it sounds like progress against class discrimination. My point is, we will never solve the problems we have by blaming others & playing victim. We need to call bullshit what it is, regardless of who it's coming from & let nothing be held at a double standard. A sexist comment is a sexist comment, regardless of gender. A racist comment is a racist comment, regardless of race. @thats true Sorry for the rant. Not aimed at you, just general venting & a little context, for the last half/second paragraph. It just gets so frustrating some times.
I deal with racist customers more than sexist customers but there was one guy who after he was not satisfied with my answer to a question he demanded to talk to my manager who is a woman and when she came over he just walked away to the first older gentlemen he found. The guy he found funny enough was just a cashier and knew less and had less power than i did so he just pointed the guy back to my manager then he stormed out of the store. Really pissed me and my manager off.
when i go to game how of the workers know less then me, its annoying when you ask them a question about a upcoming game and they dont know anything about it
Thing is; if you truly know more than the shop assistants, you shouldn't even need to ask them about it. Just look it up at home. Game shops don't bother only hiring game nerds anymore, because the internet and modern tech is a thing. They just need staff.
It's depressing, but that's just how it is unfortunately. Those kinda shops have traded in knowledgeable staff for any staff they can get, because their stores are slowly dying out. We probably won't even have game stores in the next 10 years or so because games are just bought online now. I personally love having physical copies of things, but I just have to face the fact that the market isn't tailored to my generation anymore.
Aye, we used to have a gamestation in my town too, but it went bust and was replaced by Game which is still surprisingly standing. I used to love browsing gamestation's pre-loved games cuz I'd often find something cool in there. Trouble is people just rely on supermarkets now for the newest releases. No one really cares to browse for older games anymore since they've all either been ported or can be emulated on a PC.
Well my guess is that it has to do with the range of sound captured since digital sound often gets rid of the sound waves that are above or lower then our normal hearing range. You might not typically be able to hear it, but that's not to say it doesn't effect how typical speech patterns are interpreted. K that's the r/Iamverysmart explanation. You might just be used to the dialect spoken in your region.
Yeah, I'm so tired of random nonsense that everyone calls 'sexism' also nice to see that its not just bashing men. Tired of that too. Anyway, nice video!
I'm female and I work in a franchised Mcdonalds store, so it's quite a different job to this, but female customers are always the ones I have the most issues with, male customers are often quite understanding if there's a bit of a wait, or if they can see we're really busy, but it often doesn't take long for the females to get impatient and start to be very rude (of course I've had some really lovely female customers, and some horrible male customers too, but generally it seems to be like this)
I've worked in customer service for years. Roughly 70% of my "problem customers" were female, and roughly 95% of my REALLY EFFING BAD "problem customers" were female (the remaining 5% being actual criminals of either gender). I don't know why, but when you put a desk between someone and a woman, sometimes she just goes berserk.

I've played almost all of them." This happens all over the world.

"What? Nah it's for me!"
Old dude then proceeded to explain how he bought a Playstation out of curiosity 20 years ago and got interested in gaming and that he just made the transition to PC.
@@pyeltd.5457 You know what I love? Elitism in gaming culture. Sorry dude but your comment asinine.
João Ribeiro no it pisses you off that a 70 year old gamer is not part of the PC master race but is a console peasent instead, so you have to get up your arse and get that crappy Wii game rated 3 and over for that customer or you get the sack.
@@pyeltd.5457 Yeah sure, you make no sense. It takes a lot more to piss me off than that and even then if people are having fun good for them.

"No. We need to find one of the boys..."
"Excuuuuuuse me, MA'AM, but my DONKEY KONG SHIRT and your meandering points to ME being the expert on games here. SO buy the HECCING WII AND PLAY TENNIS WITH YOUR GRANDKIDS!!"
...is how the situation should've gone down.
Excellent as always. I really love your art style.
Nah the lady would probably rant to the manager afterwards lol
Animated Carl Hahaha! This is PERFECT!
"YOU ARE A FEMALE DUDE"
The fact she only knew pokemon would completely defragment the entire statement lol.
A M E N
Not a video about someone interpreting someones greeting as bigoted, racist, sexist...etc
But real events in which you were actually descriminated against that I'm sure was a real eye opener for some.

Maybe he just felt more comfortable talking to someone he could relate to more, being his own gender
That's a really great story! Thanks for sharing
You: How rude. Why does he have to be so prejudging?
Him: Phew. Couldn't let her know I had trouble installing HuniePop on my PC.
At least that would've been a fun outcome. The actual one is much more satisfying. A shame you had to go through the sexism to begin with but glad it was resolved.
why would you want to relate to someone in this situation? you're installing a game, not getting married.
uh huh..do you you also only order coffee from your own gender because you couldn't possibly relate to the server otherwise?

One upon a time in a small town in America
I went to game stop to buy some games and vinyl pops with my dad,
This was a couple days ago,keep in mind I’m fairly young.below 13.
While we were looking for vinyls(BHNA cough cough)
One of the female cashiers comes up and asks
“Which one are you looking for?”
I turn around the Tsuyu box and point at the deku one.because I’m too awkward to say his name in such a small store, revealing I’m the biggest nerd in all of my town.
To make this easier
C=Cashier
MCD=My Cool Dad
M=Me
C:”oh you want Deku?”
M:”y-yeah”(I stutter when I’m nervous)
C goes behind the checkout and comes back
C:”sorry we don’t have Deku at the moment,do you want All Might and Ochako or just Tsuyu and Aizawa?”she said, pointing at my pops I had cradled in my arm like they we’re legit my children.
M:“No I’m good,”
I decided to investigate
M:“H-how do you know their names?”
C:”I’m a anime fan myself.i really like MHA too”
You would’ve thought I just got a puppy because I had one of those anime girl scenes where my face just.
Lit up.
MCD:”can we also get a Minecraft game?”
(In this game stop they have all there games behind the register)
C:”of course!”
She came back with a Minecraft game and asked if that’s all
MCD:”Yep”
While she was ringing out all our stuff
C:”is this all for you?”looking at me
M:”yeah actually”
C:”it makes me so happy when little girls come here and buy cool stuff, have a nice day”
She handed us our bags,we thanked her and left
That was the best day of my life and the most anti-sexist experience I’ve had in my few years of life as a gamer and otaku.
Not all heroes wear capes, they wear game stop uniforms
Took a while to realize you were not talking about vinyl records.

I said "That's me, how can I help?" And I got the reply "That's nice of you but if you don't mind I would prefer to speak to your boss, is HE around?"
I explained there must've been a misunderstanding and that the company that had been called genuinely was my business.
Yeah that’s kinda rude, I mean I believe (correct me if I’m wrong) it’s mostly men who runs companies, but that person took it a bit too far
Reminds of a quote I heard from a TEDtalk iirc: "Women hold women back."

It really pisses me off when people go around the side of a queue at a checkout just so they can ask a question to someone who is currently busy serving someone else. Realistically, we all know what each person is thinking despite what they're saying:
CUSTOMER (THINKING) - "This line is too long! I can't be bothered to wait in this queue! I'm going to cut across so I don't have to wait!"
CUSTOMER (SAYING) - "Excuse me! Can I ask you a quick question!?"
STAFF (SAYING) - "I'm currently serving, just bare with me for one second!"
STAFF (THINKING) - "Are you stupid!?

No one is forcing you to be there.
crying while trying to do your job just shows you're a human being with feelings and your physical and emotional health is more important to your body than whether or not you fucking cry at work

I'm a girl and I love minecraft
That is strange. Games are for everyone and you can’t say any game is for a specific gender. They’re there to entertain many people!
AmyRightMeow Yes, OW is great! But 12-year-old forkknife players can't understand a game with skill, aiming, and strategy.

Blows my mind that women would treat other women that way. Sorry you went through that.
Inkbetweens I mean not all women act like that

Good God, this was one of the realest videos I have ever seen! It's so sincere and I find myself relating so much to what you say even though we are from completely different demographics! Taking a job you like, the craziness that is the Overwatch chat, overzealous store employees, and even difficulty understanding what some children are saying are all things I can totally understand, especially given the chill way you describe them!
When you were talking about that first lady who walked away from you, I was literally thinking "well if she won't follow me to the Turtle headphones I guess I'll just have to take the Turtle headphones to her!" And then you did that exact same thing! This is the first video of yours I've seen and I'm seriously impressed and entertained. my typical sexist gamer story: It starts around a pre-order of Soul Calibur 5.

Idk

My friends worked at Gamestop and women gave them the same issues. This makes me so angry.

It could be that some of them are just more comfortable with women touching their feet.
When have any employee male or female touched your feet? Seriously.
less customers to serve, good
@@munkebo96 The last time I bought shoes (about 8 months ago) the dude who served me did. I asked about these trainers, told him what I was looking for and he suggested a different pair instead. He came back out with a box and gestured for me to sit down, he took my shoe off and put the new one on.
I don't ask the guys because they actually scare me. When I ask, I get hit on and it's not fun, I just want to buy shoes.

GTA Wise Guy me too
It's actually kind of sad how a lot of the times sexism is fueled by other women and their insecurities and internalized misogyny
DAI! Don't worry they will get used to it soon
For most of them it's a matter of getting used to. They might be regulars who were very used to see male employees in the place and your presence just broke the routine

Boomer, Gen X, and a little amount of Millinial women are very insecure when it comes to video games. It was just the way they were brought up. I feel mostlikely they were just projecting that on to you.
Luckly I feel we are getting that notion all squared away with by Gen Z.

Nenia Emm That’s a stereotype not necessarily sexism.
@@unknownshade5736 How is it not sexism? The subject is neutral, so by saying "Oh women/men know more about 'neutral subject' because they are a specific gender" is incredibly sexist as well as a stereotype. It is, by it's very definition, a sexist stereotype.
Nenia Emm Stereotypes exist because of people’s experiences, a typical male would know more about a gaming then a typical female.
@@unknownshade5736 Oh my dear sweet innocent child, how little you know.

My blood is boiling. I don't people who can be so blatantly rude. In any case the first real conversations I ever have with any member of the male sex are the ones about video games, DnD and anime. We really bond over our experiences and get so hyped over them.
so as a male working in apriceline pharmacy (a female dominated store) i fully understand the strugle. one time i asked a lady if she needed anything. she replyed asking for a product. i said "im sorry we are out of stock of that item. i have actually just done an order for it this morning." at wgich she said something about asking another staff about it. all while i am wearing a badge that lists me as the storeroom manager. i just said "ok your welcome to ask"
this lady goes and asks on of the women who then bring her back to me to ask me if we have any.
this lady was firly rude about "how could this boy know if you have it"
she was then told again a second time i know we don't as it out of stock and i have ordered it this morning. she basicly stormed out of the shop.
The soft bigotry of higher expectations. You're a girl so CLEARLY you can't be ACTUALLY interested in games. I had the same.
TheGlock30owner
I can see your point but to actually go to the length of taking a job just to fake interest... maybe not so likely.
TheGlock30owner Hey. Maybe before you get super defensive and tell someone to "Fuck off", you ought to pick a target who has demonstrated that they deserve it.
The irony: I've gone for 33 years hoping to find a girl who is interested in games. (And single. And interested in me.)
Couldn't even manage 2/3.
What the fuck TheGlock30owner
"large portion of women and girls fake interest in order to destroy the hobby"
No they don't they really don't, there isn't some black robed cabal of women sneaking into your hobby to destroy it you muppet.
@thats true
Sorry for the rant. Not aimed at you, just general venting & a little context, for the last half/second paragraph. It just gets so frustrating some times.
You are literally the animator I can relate the most to
I deal with racist customers more than sexist customers but there was one guy who after he was not satisfied with my answer to a question he demanded to talk to my manager who is a woman and when she came over he just walked away to the first older gentlemen he found. The guy he found funny enough was just a cashier and knew less and had less power than i did so he just pointed the guy back to my manager then he stormed out of the store.
Why do British people always sound more British on the internet!? Nobody I've ever met across the country sounds as British as they do online!
For real mate, never spent a few days in London by the sound of it
UM I KNOW RIGHT
Sorry BOT5BOT, but we Americans don't get out much. And have little understanding of British dialect. We just not smart that way.
