I love how Ben says things like ‘I’m wearing a jacket’ and beats albedo without even transforming it goes to show how albedo views Ben as this pure force of nature as well as that it also tells us that one of albedos fears is not being worthy of the ultimaterix which means he views Ben as worthy, and lastly this tells us that Albedo thinks that Ben has never had to try against him the Albedo doesn’t view himself as a challenge which is why albedo doesn’t think he deserves it, because he doesn’t think that he’s a threat. This is why I think that OV albedo is really good because he’s in the kill Ben mind set, in a weird way it’s almost like he overcame his fears because he became a challenge for Ben and became worthy of the ultimatrix again in his eyes
@Daniel Survivor yeah, Omniverse did Albedo dirty. I'd also argue they did Charmcaster dirty since both of them act like they were hit with the crazy stick.
The fact that he was using a little squid creature makes me think of the superman story: for the man who has everything, even though the perfect day is closer in fake world
17:11 It gets worse when you realize that technically his name drop never happened in canon since this is a dream episode. Not even Ben's dream, but Albedo's. Meaning as far as canon is concerned, Chamalien might not even be his name and was just something Albedo thought of. Ben could've kept the joke name Overkill for all we know. EDIT: This is the most liked comment I've ever had so just wanted to say Thank You.
That would actually be a cool little quirk Albedo has lol. He knows about aliens Ben has but hasn’t used yet, so he comes up with his own names for them.
That would have been so funny if Albedo used a transformation and called a name that’s completely different from the one Ben uses. Albedo:*transforms* Voreoptera! Ben:Wait, what did you just call it? Albedo:What? I just said “voreoptera;” you call your aliens names all the time, why can’t I. Ben:Yea but that’s eatle, not whatever you just said. Albedo:”Eatle?” Really? Such a moronically simple name. Ben:Well it’s better than yours!
@@table2.0 That’s pretty cool honestly. I made the name I used there by looking up the scientific name for beetles and a fancy word related to eating because I feel like Albedo would name aliens in a really nerdy scientific manner instead of silly or cool names that Ben picks to have fun with. Like Albedo is a nerdy snob that sees Ben’s names as “horridly simplicities” and goes for something that flexes his scientific knowledge so he can brag about being the smartest, even if his names aren’t that different from Ben’s style.
I kinda like the idea that Albedo turning full on bad guy in Omniverse was the result of losing it in the dream world. Like after this he's passed his breaking point.
I actually feel really bad for Albedo like he was mentally tormented from fighting ben. I actually really like Albedo as a villain in omniverse but he literally never recovered from this. I would have mercy on him
Episodes set in Dreams or Illusions tend to be my favorite, as not only do the writers get a free pass to make the craziest and most improbable scenarios, it also allows us to see the mindset of the characters.
Hex Hitchhiking is just funny. And its even more funny if you think that Charmcaster had just decided to cut her uncle off from using Magic due to how she's the ruler of Ledgerdomain. As he was abusive to her for so many years that cutting him off from magic for a bit seems possible. And thinking about it now, I can just see Hex flying back to his castle before suddenly falling to the ground Loony Toons style.
Kevin's line makes more sense when you realize it's Albedo saying Ben turned him into a monster it perfectly encapsulates how he feels about having turned into Ben and even further shows his feelings about being a shape shifter he's so far removed from being a Galvan he considers himself a monster talk about a living nightmare which is also the name of the episode.
The way I see it, from Albedo's perspective, this is what he's doing to Ben. As far as he realizes at the beginning, he got Ben with the Dream Eater, and Ben has fallen into this trap. But, because Ben is so lucky and gets everything to go his way, Ben still makes quick work of his villains. Then, as Albedo gets more frustrated that his plan isn't working, Dream Ben starts figuring things out and getting even more lucky and OP, to the point where he figures out Albedo's plan. As mentioned before, the lack of detailing comes from this being Albedo's perspective, so he's not as familiar with things like the details of Kevin's garage, Julie's home, etc. The only reason he got Ben's house so well is because he had to sneak through there just moments prior to get to Ben's room, so the details are still fresh in his mind. It's also why the villains don't talk, and aren't as detailed, because Albedo doesn't know most of them as well as Ben. The only one he's ever really interacted with is Vilgax. Though, that does raise the question as to how he would know that Greg is in the Null Void, or that Vilgax is dead, but that can easily be explained by "he just heard about it". All in all, I think what's happening is that the Dream Eater is making things more to Albedo's favor to get him to let his guard down. Then, when Albedo starts enjoying the dream, that's when things start to take a turn. By giving Albedo that sense of happiness, it makes things that much worse when said happiness is ripped away from him and things go south.
To be fair, the last time Albedo saw Vilgax, Vilgax was in a sinking ship, fighting against Ben, and Ben's the one who walked away from that fight. Seems like a reasonable assumption to make.
Love your interpretation. And it makes more sense on how Kevin & Gwen were able to talk as he has met him multiple times. But this raises Question that he has interacted with Vilgax but why he was in a deep silent. 🤔 On kn all that explains why Kevin's Garage and Julie house had not detail cuz he is not familiar with
@@Waqas_Khan02 Like I said, the Vilgax thing was kind of a whole in the interpretation, but considering the unnatural way Gwen and Kevin spoke, I think we can interpret that as "Albedo doesn't care enough to learn their speech and mannerisms", which would help to explain Vilgax as well. Albedo is a self centered, self important character, the kind that sees everyone else as beneath him. We've seen this with other Galvins too, including Asmuth, where they tend to look down on other species for not being as smart or evolved as they are. To that end, we can assume that Albedo just didn't think Vilgax was worth studying enough to remember his voice and mannerisms. The same would be true for Gwen and Kevin, but as members of Ben's team, he at least takes the time to learn enough about them to be able to combat them, since fighting Ben means fighting them. There's a level of necessity for remembering how those two act that isn't there with Vilgax. Though, his superiority complex still creeps through with him not being able to recreate them on a realistic level.
Perhaps Albedo did get messed up by the Dream Eater. One of the many symptoms of PTSD is hostility and sometimes violent behavior. People have gotten PTSD from a bad LSD trip so it's not entirely crazy that similar things can happen to Dream Eater victims.
24:40 I didn't notice it when I first saw it years ago, but Ben gets steadily stronger as the episode progresses. He has a lengthy fight with Vilgax where he has to keep changing forms, one-shots Ultimate Kevin 11 with AmpFibian, defeats Anodite Gwen with ease using Swampfire, and then rips open NRG's near impenetrable armor with his bare human hands. It really fits Albedo's perspective of how things "just seem to work out" for Ben.
This is similar to “Perfect Day” from classic. The Ultimate Kevin and Gwen caught me off guard until Albedo appeared. 3 episodes to go until the end of Ultimate Alien.
This being a dive into Albedo’s mind is such an interesting way to look at the episode, because it really goes into his mental struggles “Not worthy of the watch” - He wasn’t worth of the Omnitrix, so he made is own But even then his version and his “improved” version of it, The Ultimatrix, was taken from him He wasn’t worthy again - The whole talk about friends abandoning Ben, could be a subtle hint at what happened to Hugh, Swamps, and Chills Albedo most likely snapped and caused them to leave, or he left and is just projecting that they abandoned him - And with the final scene with Dream Ben beating him and then Albedo being presumably pummeled by Ben’s Aliens That could represent the fact, no matter what he can’t escape Ben He’s just everywhere/ a constant in his life now, and it like he’s just constantly being beaten by the fact of “Ben is better, Ben is worthy, and I wasn’t” And we don’t know how long the Dream Eater thing was on him, so they could’ve been just on repeat for a long time - Albedo is such a interesting character because he really could’ve just been A grumpy ally or someone who just wants to be left alone if he was given a “good day”, but ever since making a fake Omnitrix his life just keeps pushing him down and down no matter what he tries to do
In all honesty, yeah, Albedo's life, ever since he met Ben was a constant downhill, even if you acknowledge the things that Omniverse introduced, because then you have Azmuth going into exile and cutting all contact, while _still_ not being deemed worthy of the Omnitrix. And re; him snapping at Hugh, Swamps and Chills... that could have very well happened, because Hugh IS responsible for the fact that Albedo is forever stuck in Ben's form, the reason why the trio went and interfered with his machine, meant to fix him. And yes, I know that in the moment, he did jump to blame Ben, but after calming down... I could see him realizing that his so-called friend literally ruined his best chance to escaping his prison.
I feel like this episode shook up the normal dream episode formula in a big way that _hasn't_ been pointed out in the comments yet, because the dreamer was having a dream from the perspective of another person, and that's entirely realistic.
I really like how in omniverse albedo just accepted the fact that he's the "bad guy" and just went straight down the wrong path bc of what happened to him
I love the contrast between how much Ultimate Kevin's design has going on compared to how clean Anodite Gwen. I also never considered their shared struggle with humanity against their powers, that's so interesting
21:53 We actually see UAF Swampfire’s design in Omniverse when Ben’s chasing after the Screegit. The only difference is that the Omnitrix is on his stomach in OV. It’s kinda quick but he’s still there pre-Blossom.
I'm kinda surprised this got a full breakdown but I won't complain. One of the weirder but cool episodes, even if it is kinda similar to one we've had before in the original.
Not having albedos arc be spelled out is something I actually really like about it They don't say everything that we know about it, they show how every experience he's had has been slowly messing him up and we see his fall into madness be built up from the moment he got the ability to transform without a watch Like there was no reason for him to do this to Ben other than making him suffer on top of stabilizing his phisical form
Wow, a guest writer that worked on Marvel Comics! I can attest that my dreams tend to transition to different stuff like you're going through different dimensions, like one minute it's a dream of Ben 10 and then the next dream is on Batman Beyond, and even then there's not much detail to locations. It's funny on drawing in reverse to animate. I do that sometimes when animating mostly to draw the key poses before the in-betweens.
There actually is a scene in Omniverse where Albedo says why he is doing what he's doing in his Galvan form, it could've been handled a lot better but he does mention he can never forget the stuff Ben did to him (even though in that scene he mentions imprisonment, humiliation and chili fries) which I think is in character. Aka him not wanting to tell Ben he is absolutely traumatized.
Hey Kuro. In Omniverse, Albedo does actually say that the reason he shifts from just wanting to be cured to being an evil villain was because of Ben humiliating and imprisoning him. However, this line of dialogue is played off as a joke, so I don’t know if it really counts.
I love that image with all the aliens walking up to Albedo and you see some aliens from the original series, Ultimates, and some Andrometa Galaxy aliens
25:50 Actually, I believe that it was Ben's dream first but Albedo calls back the jelly thing and tries to retach it and slips and THEN only he goes into his dream, because Albedo would not know about most of the other villans like aggregor
I thought that as a kid, but even back then I felt that didn't make sense. The jelly thing traps someone in a nightmare and for Ben to have broken free, and Albedo doesn't notice and just spawns the thing out of nowhere and that their fighting in his room. It would give the impression that either, the jellyfish created a large scale illusion, or that Albedo can just enter people's minds while having to move his physical body for some reason.
disagree there are plenty of ways to learn of about the other aliens. Like with aggregor he possibly could have heard about him. And say hex simple properly from the plumbers data base
This pretty much shows everyone that Albedo considers that everyone has antagonized Ben at some point. And this includes Ben's friends and his girlfriend. It´s funny to think that even Albedo judges Ben for what happened to Kevin and for how he treats Julie.
I actually guessed "Dream World" as the reason for the situation when I first saw the episode as it was airing.... the use of "Nightmare" in the name, as well as Ben experiencing one at the start were the big clues that led me to that conclusion. The Albedo twists, however, caught me off guard for sure.
Get ready for a new Vilgax style unstoppable force of nature, a new way to counter Ben's aliens and a lot of cool ideas and intricate plotlines with a lot of almost every transformation is here approach, a lot of comedy, use of nearly every character idea and plotline in the show, and a lots of new aliens(seriously Omniverse has the most aliens to show and introduce in the entire franchise...)....and unfortunately certain issue too it's not perfect but we also get a poster boy alien who is really cool so yeah😊!
I love that while at first he was confused, Ben saw through Albedo's tricks and as Ben said "all that stuff about not deserving the ultimatrix". This shows that Ben is smart besides his photographic memory
@@InfinitEthanAnimations wouldn't really go that far considering how long it took him to figure this out. It's even worse when you remember Ben's already experienced a dream world before. This is just Ben not being completely unobservant.
This might just be by favorite Albedo episode mostly because of the fakeout ending where's revealed that its Albedo that's having a nightmare. Also the ending where Ben's aliens are about to gang up and beat the crap out of Albedo is really terrifying, i had that exact same nightmare before look Ultimate Alien so I can understand how Albedo would be afraid of that.
@@pogggaming4470 I don't remember all of them, but I think one of them was one of the Predator aliens from Omniverse and I remember correctly I was being chased by one of them.
The ending sequence in this episode is honestly one of my favourites in an episode, just because of how ridiculous is it and how much it amplifies the "Tennyson strength" thing to its extreme. Watching Ben completely deck these aliens is just funny.
I’m so glad this episode got a full breakdown instead of a quick one This one has always been one of my favorite ultimate alien episodes for some reason It’s always resonated with me in a weird way Edit:also I’m very disappointed in Kuro for not saying *YOU BASTARDS* After ash said “oh my god they killed Kevin
I agree with the idea that the psychological trauma of Albedo being trapped in his own mind messes him up to the point of insanity for rest of the series run & that’s really sad to see. But you gotta admit that it’s still funny in the sense that Albedo’s been defeated by Ben soo many times at this point that he’s not even able to properly execute his own evil plans & ends up knocking himself out for Ben. Like Ben’s beaten him to the point where he’s unknowingly thwarting Albedo evil schemes *IN HIS SLEEP!* Like there’s no coming back to being a legitimately threatening villain after that embarrassing fail, sure it was Ben’s messy habits that thwarted Abledo but with his Galvin Intellect he should’ve been able to navigate a teenager’s messy bedroom.. 😂
It would be a nice touch to end the episode with Albedo on bed seeing like a bag of Fries with either just Ben's name on it or on the side a omnitrix sticker on it (Like if on the way, Ben bought his favorite human food to help him recover )
I belive in the chase of ChamAlien the 3 coloured eyes are a part of the species abolity to see the members of their species even when they are invisible, so it's an important detail what the Trix kept. And Albed, being albino lacking the pigments which would give him the 3 coloures, so it's blood red
Goop being able to neutralize his own acid makes a lot of sense though, since he can change his acidity and humans actually do that with their stomach acid when it travels to the small intestine from the stomach.
Feel so good knowing that people still love and watch this epic series which was a true part of our all’s childhood. Love to Ben Tennyson and all his fans ❤❤❤
Albedo's Chamalien could've switched the red and green position showing the colors are necessary but the position isn't and leaning in more with the red being his main color choice.
25:30 In fairness I’ve had dreams where I’m someone other than myself before. It’s really hard to explain, like my dream centers on some character but I also on some psychological level still identify that as me. I once had a dream where I was from the perspective of mighty ray from hero 108 but I ended up at my school and recognized my old binder and picked it up acknowledging it as mine, and then suddenly I cut back to being myself, idk man dreams are weird.
The way I interpreted the ending when I first saw it was that Ben originally did have the nightmare creature on him, but he ripped it off him and put it on Albedo near the end, which is why he was suddenly the one in control of the dream
Didn't think this episode would get the full review treatment over Catch a Falling Star or Couples Retreat. Nevertheless, it's still a really fun episode. That ending for Albedo is both the saddest and funniest thing i've ever seen.
Realy enjoying your breakdowns Kuro each time Realy feels like watching the episode for the first time with all the details caring you're giving from animation to story to taking down your own opinion to give the episode the best and most fair score Just want to ask if you're going to do a total score for each series to see which one got the most (combining all the scores from each episode)
I still feel it's unfair to say Omniverse's take on Albedo is a drastic departure. In his debut and the Alien Force he's also doing some moustache twirling. He does a lot of taunting, and posturing.
Heck his plot for this episode is pretty damn evil! We only feel sorry for him cause it did it to himself on accident but Albedo was gonna do that to ben. They also act like Albedo has zero emotional nuance in OV which is upsetting. From his flashback moments, to him legitimately critiquing Azmuths behavior, and even his little pass off comment on finding being called evil "hurtful."
@@ahmed4363 they do sound like taunting remarks at face value, but I think a part of him still contemplates the morality of his choices before the resentment of his situation kicks in.
not really. uaf albedo did a bunch of douchie moronical stuff but he still felt like he had grasp on his mind. whereas ov albedo feels literally insane, almost cartoonish. you could say this episode is what lead to his insanity but the fact that they never even mentioned it in ov is what makes it unnerving.
This was my first ever UA episode I watched. I grew up watching Classic and AF as a child, and then I moved overseas and didn’t think Ben 10 was a thing overseas. One day I accidentally sat on the remote and switched channels, and as I was switching back, I saw Ben for a split second. It took me a couple seconds to realise, and the excitement I felt when I realised not only did Ben 10 exist here, but there were new episodes could never be replaced
Oh thank god we got a full breakdown for this episode. And we got ash back! 25:23 I love that reaction. Mind blown. Has to take glasses off to process XD
This episode drives the point that Albedo is not just Bens's evil twin but a genetic copy. The way they have Albedo believe he's ben is wild, especially since the villains not talking is because of Albedo's lack of understanding of them yet ben is always in character to show just how much Albedo understands Ben and also how much they now have in common with them being genetically the same. The only time Albedo stops being Ben is when the one thing that separates them is brought up and that is the fact Albedo not being worthy of the Omnitrix while Ben is. It's at this point that Albedo stops being Ben and becomes himself but also to show the point that everything just seems to work out for Ben with how he beats Albedo without needing to use the Omnitrix. Then there's that last scene that not only shows Albedo's fear of ben but most importantly his fear of not being worthy to the point that the Omnitrix aliens turn on him
I think this episode serves as a view into Albedo's "acceptance" to his new role. He's too far gone into the ben form to possibly escape being tied to ben's identity, that he loses his own and becomes entirely dependent on ben as a character, leading to his obsession with being the "anti-ben"
On talking out loud to yourself, I do that a lot too. I find that thoughts in your head don't make sense, you just understand what you're trying to say. But saying thoughts out loud forces you to phrase them in a more coherent fashion, so it's not just a mess of ideas jumbled together in your head
I Really Like this Episode,It’s a Great Dream Episode with Alot of Unexpected Twist and Builds Up Albedo Going Mad and making things Personal to Ben in Omniverse.
"Stop thinking Tennyson, you're no good at it" I love how insulting that line is, and how easily it can applied to basically any online argument. Sure, it'd just inflame the argument, but still easily applied.
0:43 now that ones balarky whether you like albedo's characterization in OV or not, which is still really cool! 3:08 now that's an excellent point the translucent energy being have a grounded intrigue to this style. I'd even put the highbreed on that list, well their faces at least. 3:59 this os even worse than when he broke the wall! That carpet is ruined! 4:36 it might be since the first af episode even! It's a shame the stomach tentacles are really freaky snd cool for the dnaliens! 7:27 STANDING HERE I REALI- 10:03 honestly I get why they'd think he's dead. 17:38 AAAh it's not fair! Not even the reboot want's chamalien it's so sad!!!! 19:42 villains can't Gaslight someone these days without someone pointing out the logical fallacies tch tch tch. 27:21 THANK YOU ASH! This is what i've been trying to saying this whole time! No way he's not committing everything to killing ben after this point, dude got traumatized by his own plan and then woke up in plumber prison to stew on it. True OV didn't mention this part but I see why that style might bot wanted to fully explore the fear parasite stuff, plus i'm sure bens arse would've deflected about it being albedos fault for slipping.
Missing a scene of Albedo in a mental asylum. Like someone get my boy some therapy. I hate that his mental health probably only gets worse from here, but I also weirdly love it. Good character building
I agree that the episode had a lot of screentime of Ben that could be used for Albedo, but I also think most of the scenes of the villans are also Albedo trying to "defeat" Ben in different ways. The scene of the DNAlien is the guilt of damaging a persons life while trying to do the right thing, Vilgax and Agregor are the use of brute power, people Albedo feels he could not defeat , Julie trying to get him by his relationship but not knowing enough to actually do anything, the Hex one i'm not sure, but could be trying the fear of the unknown, then the guilt of not being worthy of the ultimatrix (Even tho it applies way more to Albedo), and losing the closest people to him, and after all of that he tries facing him head on, and gets humilliated. It also feels that way because every option that fails makes the next attempt weaker and reasures the strength of Ben in Albedos mind, the DNAlien was way stronger than normal, Vilgax and Agregor didn't get deafeated, they just disappeared, and then Hex just gets his ass kicked by Ben, even in the "Psychological" part Ben sees thru the lie and uses Amphbian and Swamp fire to defeat Gwen and Kevin. So the screentime helps build the idea of how Albedo feels about Ben, He has seen him win against all odds even thru things he thinks himself would not, and everytime he faces him, he gets further from victory. Even tho I probably explained the obvious and Im looking way to deep, I wanted to write my idea of the episode down to get the thought across
The funny thing is albedo is a whole conduit to this episode as they said, albedo is the evil ben gimmic which is albedo's greatest nightmare - being trapped as ben. It's so perfect
This episode (minus gwen and kevin being in his room) actually works better in reverse. - Albedo breaks into Ben's room, goes to put the alien on his head but slips on the smoothie and is caught by his own weapon - Ben wakes up from the noise and calls Kevin & Gwen because he doesnt want to risk touching whats on Albedo's head nor fight Albedo alone if it is a trick - Episode plays out as normal from beginning, but instead of Ben its Albedo
Basically we got The aggregor arc, U.Kevin arc, forever knight arc, the ultimate sacrifice And this is my favorite episode of UA This is just a video game boss rush in episodes form, and I love it for that
I remember talking about this particular Ben 10: UA episode before and how it is similar to the classic Ben 10 episode, " Perfect Day". There was also an episode of the Ben 10 reboot where Zombozo entered Ben's dreams and it scared Ben so much that he became Overflow and flooded The Rust Bucket on the inside! Ben did say that he turns into his alien forms when having a nightmare and now I saw it for myself! Also, Overflow reminds me a lot of Waterhazard although he looked a lot different in the fan arts where he is like Goop except he's a living mass of water! Word of warning, THIS IS BEN'S HEAD AND HIS RULES!!! Pinkie Pie: THAN DO MORE! THIS IS A DREAM REMEMBER?
The ultimatrix sticking to goop after he got ripped apart was good but I’m still a little disappointed he didn’t mentioned the part in vengeance of vligax part 2 where goop’s little ufo busted through swampfire’s chest and you see the entire omnitrix core fly out
*Your commentary made alot of moments here even more unintentionally funny. From Kevin turning into a monster and then immediately blaming Ben, to the idea that Hex just doesn’t appear when Ben drives by him, to “The Ultamatrix is useless, Ben.”, to Amphinian lightly zapping Kevin (which here is the equivalent of just punching him once) and immediately dying.*
On the “talking to yourself” part, I do the same as ORAsh as well, very much a Neurodivergent stimming “I need to verbalise my thoughts so I can actually remember wha I’m thinking” Also, if the Celestial Capians can cannonically mess with the shows art style and character design, why could they not mess with the writing? My theory (A FILM THEO-) is that the celestialsepians have beef/dislike towards Prisoners species, and made it so that they get done dirty in the show
"In OV this is supposed to be Beauman's house." Wow, Beamann has such terrible luck with Ben breaking his shit that even one series before the gag is introduced Ben was still wrecking his house Okay I had forgotten the sight of Hex hitchhiking. That IS hilarious XD You know, the reveal it was all Albedo's nightmare actually fits with a lot of OOC moments such as Ben not giving a shit for collateral damages, or Kevin and Gwen being so descriptive: it was how *Albedo* sees them, in particular Ben; And yeah, this incident would indeed explain why Albedo now is mad in OV and going all revenge if we see it as a side effect of his trauma.... but not so much why he comes up with a really goofy plan about stealing Azmuth's intelligence.
@@yashbjoshi12 .... Did you actually read my post? I specifically said that I think the part about him wanting revenge *made sense* in this; I still dislike it for being less interesting/complex than him just wanting to go back to normal, but I acknowledge it's a logical (if disappointing) progression. My problem is specifically with the "cartoonish plan to steal Azmuth's intelligence" part. That came completely out of left field, doesn't relate to his desire for revenge is any way (if he wanted to get revenge on Azmuth, he could have just, you know, *killed* him), and I frankly feel like it doesn't like up with what we know of him at all - I always was under the impression he already considered himself smarter than Azmuth!
@@yashbjoshi12 Even if he did, I can't think of any motive that'd make sense about it. Honestly this plan just starts the point where what Albedo's plans stop making any sense. I mean for crying out loud, his next two appearances had him work with Vilgax twice, despite the fact that got him betrayed the previous time and he gets betrayed *again* the second! Not to mention working with alternate versions of Ben when he friggin' hate Ben. It just feels like OV had no clear idea what to do with him after the Duel of Duplicate arc..... though admittedly they didn't do that much with him in AUF too, so maybe the writers were just unsure of which direction take with him to begin with.
@@Theokal3 I think albedo's hatred towards ben prime was increased to such extent that he was ready to take risk with vilgax and he never knew that vilgax betrayed him in ov.Also the alternate versions were evil and was ready to kill ben prime so that could be reason why he is with evil bens
Yes I been waiting for this episode breakdown this is one of my favorite episodes and I truly appreciate that ink tank made it a full episode break down instead of one of those 5-minute rust-bucket breakdowns Thank you ink tank

Before Albedo appeared each fight had there own symbolism: The DNAlien: The first fight of uaf and the reason he put the Omnitrix back on Villgax: The reason he got it in the first place Aggregor: the villain he couldn’t beat no matter how many times he tried. Julie: His guilt over being a bad boyfriend. Hex: He was brief because he’s Gwen’s enemy and he went back to the road to wait for her. Gwen/Kevin: His closest friends. Also he is aware they’re ‘powers struggles,’ he just can’t do anything about it. Ultimate Kevin: In his mind he caused that because he couldn’t stop Aggregor. And felt guilty about trying to kill him.

It's a shame they wasted Albeto and never reformed him
@Daniel Survivor yeah, Omniverse did Albedo dirty. I'd also argue they did Charmcaster dirty since both of them act like they were hit with the crazy stick.
@@pagananarchist4723 charmcaster makes more sense than albedo tho what with morningstar and her dad
@@SejfTrix I guess that makes sense
Yup, it's official now. His name was never Chamalien. It was only ever Overkill.
@@aceofspades8474 carnagevore, like carnivore, is a better name imo personally

The true reason he became a teacher
That would have explained how he was a librarian in Omniverse
Seems like a reasonable assumption to make.
jesus christ i feel bad for albedo
Love your interpretation.
And it makes more sense on how Kevin & Gwen were able to talk as he has met him multiple times. But this raises Question that he has interacted with Vilgax but why he was in a deep silent. 🤔
On kn all that explains why Kevin's Garage and Julie house had not detail cuz he is not familiar with
@@Waqas_Khan02 Like I said, the Vilgax thing was kind of a whole in the interpretation, but considering the unnatural way Gwen and Kevin spoke, I think we can interpret that as "Albedo doesn't care enough to learn their speech and mannerisms", which would help to explain Vilgax as well.
He actually struggles with a DNA Alien and after the mess with Lodestar he quickly defeated Greg, so yeah progression
This is similar to “Perfect Day” from classic.
The Ultimate Kevin and Gwen caught me off guard until Albedo appeared.
3 episodes to go until the end of Ultimate Alien.
Fitting since this can also be considered a pseudo recap like that episode
This being a dive into Albedo’s mind is such an interesting way to look at the episode, because it really goes into his mental struggles
“Not worthy of the watch” - He wasn’t worth of the Omnitrix, so he made is own
But even then his version and his “improved” version of it, The Ultimatrix, was taken from him
He wasn’t worthy again
-
The whole talk about friends abandoning Ben, could be a subtle hint at what happened to Hugh, Swamps, and Chills
Albedo most likely snapped and caused them to leave, or he left and is just projecting that they abandoned him
-
And with the final scene with Dream Ben beating him and then Albedo being presumably pummeled by Ben’s Aliens
That could represent the fact, no matter what he can’t escape Ben
He’s just everywhere/ a constant in his life now, and it like he’s just constantly being beaten by the fact of “Ben is better, Ben is worthy, and I wasn’t”
And we don’t know how long the Dream Eater thing was on him, so they could’ve been just on repeat for a long time
-
Albedo is such a interesting character because he really could’ve just been
A grumpy ally or someone who just wants to be left alone
if he was given a “good day”, but ever since making a fake Omnitrix his life just keeps pushing him down and down no matter what he tries to do
Man perfect analysis 👍👍 and now with this review of the character of albedo make me feeling more bad for him
In all honesty, yeah, Albedo's life, ever since he met Ben was a constant downhill, even if you acknowledge the things that Omniverse introduced, because then you have Azmuth going into exile and cutting all contact, while _still_ not being deemed worthy of the Omnitrix.
I really like how in omniverse albedo just accepted the fact that he's the "bad guy" and just went straight down the wrong path bc of what happened to him
there is also how easily vilgax overpowers ben and a ultimate wich can be seen as an analogy to albedo being betrayed and overpowered by vilgax's army
I love the contrast between how much Ultimate Kevin's design has going on compared to how clean Anodite Gwen. I also never considered their shared struggle with humanity against their powers, that's so interesting
Imagine a child of Osmosian and Anodite!
21:53 We actually see UAF Swampfire’s design in Omniverse when Ben’s chasing after the Screegit. The only difference is that the Omnitrix is on his stomach in OV. It’s kinda quick but he’s still there pre-Blossom.

I recently rewatched this episode and I completely forgot about the twist. Definitely a great episode since it really makes you pity Albedo.

@@Waqas_Khan02 Kellen Goff has already said he knows which episode he wants to do in OV
Hey Kuro. In Omniverse, Albedo does actually say that the reason he shifts from just wanting to be cured to being an evil villain was because of Ben humiliating and imprisoning him. However, this line of dialogue is played off as a joke, so I don’t know if it really counts.

I’m so glad this episode got a full breakdown instead of a quick one
This one has always been one of my favorite ultimate alien episodes for some reason

After ash said “oh my god they killed Kevin
Kevin: “give me the Ultimatrix”
Ra’ad: *weak jolt of lighting*

I agree with the idea that the psychological trauma of Albedo being trapped in his own mind messes him up to the point of insanity for rest of the series run & that’s really sad to see.
But you gotta admit that it’s still funny in the sense that Albedo’s been defeated by Ben soo many times at this point that he’s not even able to properly execute his own evil plans & ends up knocking himself out for Ben. Like Ben’s beaten him to the point where he’s unknowingly thwarting Albedo evil schemes *IN HIS SLEEP!*
Like there’s no coming back to being a legitimately threatening villain after that embarrassing fail, sure it was Ben’s messy habits that thwarted Abledo but with his Galvin Intellect he should’ve been able to navigate a teenager’s messy bedroom.. 😂
That's a perfect example of "too clever by a Half"
Well Albedo is stupid so…
I'm going to be honest. Watching this episode as a kid, I never realized that the whole thing was Albedo's nightmare instead of Ben's.
This has got the be the most awesome breakdown because "Night Of The Living Nightmare" is my favourite episode.
This episode was really cool too and Ben going to ultimate form only this mostly happens in the comics but this was incredible
Albedo's Chamalien could've switched the red and green position showing the colors are necessary but the position isn't and leaning in more with the red being his main color choice.
15:54 About time that joke made a comeback
Would have been hilarious if Ben 10,000 said “Gwen” like that too
25:30 In fairness I’ve had dreams where I’m someone other than myself before.
Some people has had that kind of dream without even realizing it
The way I interpreted the ending when I first saw it was that Ben originally did have the nightmare creature on him, but he ripped it off him and put it on Albedo near the end, which is why he was suddenly the one in control of the dream
That'd be cool if they used Cyan, Magenta and Yellow colors on Albedo's Chamailen design, like they used Red Green Blue on Ben's
Didn't think this episode would get the full review treatment over Catch a Falling Star or Couples Retreat. Nevertheless, it's still a really fun episode. That ending for Albedo is both the saddest and funniest thing i've ever seen.

Then there's that last scene that not only shows Albedo's fear of ben but most importantly his fear of not being worthy to the point that the Omnitrix aliens turn on him
6:17 SAME ASH, i walk through a lot of my thoughts out loud, especially if I’m nervous, I just monologue to relieve stress.
Thanks a lot Kuro for having this as a full breakdown, i was waiting for this one for months. Really grateful ❤😃

- Albedo breaks into Ben's room, goes to put the alien on his head but slips on the smoothie and is caught by his own weapon
- Ben wakes up from the noise and calls Kevin & Gwen because he doesnt want to risk touching whats on Albedo's head nor fight Albedo alone if it is a trick
- Episode plays out as normal from beginning, but instead of Ben its Albedo
Surprised that this one got a full breakdown. These breakdowns are awesome, keep 'em coming Kuro!

its hilarious how kuro tries to convince ash this isnt a dream this episode is the funniest thing of all time already
Basically we got The aggregor arc, U.Kevin arc, forever knight arc, the ultimate sacrifice
And this is my favorite episode of UA
This is just a video game boss rush in episodes form, and I love it for that
I remember talking about this particular Ben 10: UA episode before and how it is similar to the classic Ben 10 episode, " Perfect Day".
The ultimatrix sticking to goop after he got ripped apart was good but I’m still a little disappointed he didn’t mentioned the part in vengeance of vligax part 2 where goop’s little ufo busted through swampfire’s chest and you see the entire omnitrix core fly out
I thought I was the only one who saw that in that episode
To this day, this is still one of my favorite episodes of UA
*Your commentary made alot of moments here even more unintentionally funny. From Kevin turning into a monster and then immediately blaming Ben, to the idea that Hex just doesn’t appear when Ben drives by him, to “The Ultamatrix is useless, Ben.”, to Amphinian lightly zapping Kevin (which here is the equivalent of just punching him once) and immediately dying.*
On the “talking to yourself” part, I do the same as ORAsh as well, very much a Neurodivergent stimming “I need to verbalise my thoughts so I can actually remember wha I’m thinking”
Also, if the Celestial Capians can cannonically mess with the shows art style and character design, why could they not mess with the writing? My theory (A FILM THEO-) is that the celestialsepians have beef/dislike towards Prisoners species, and made it so that they get done dirty in the show
"In OV this is supposed to be Beauman's house." Wow, Beamann has such terrible luck with Ben breaking his shit that even one series before the gag is introduced Ben was still wrecking his house
Okay I had forgotten the sight of Hex hitchhiking. That IS hilarious XD
You know, the reveal it was all Albedo's nightmare actually fits with a lot of OOC moments such as Ben not giving a shit for collateral damages, or Kevin and Gwen being so descriptive: it was how *Albedo* sees them, in particular Ben;
And yeah, this incident would indeed explain why Albedo now is mad in OV and going all revenge if we see it as a side effect of his trauma.... but not so much why he comes up with a really goofy plan about stealing Azmuth's intelligence.
Albedo did said why he is doing that in ov , albedo: "so I am supposed to forget all the humiliation, all the imprisonment, all the chili fries!?"
@@Theokal3 I think that albedo did gave reason for that goofy plan in those episodes, but i have to rewatch ov again.
This episode of Ben10 Ultimate Alien/ Alien Force was my favorite one. So memorable 🙂👍
Yes I been waiting for this episode breakdown this is one of my favorite episodes and I truly appreciate that ink tank made it a full episode break down instead of one of those 5-minute rust-bucket breakdowns
Thank you ink tank
27:00 Damn ngl I think Albedos little freak out on the floor was funny af
Hearing you guys views in the end, kinda made me respect And feel bad for Albedo 😢😢. Thanks Kuro and Ash ❤
I just realised how much it looked like Albedo is about to be bullied with the way he is huddled in the corner the fact all the aliens are walking to him the way they are and the fear in his eyes he was bullied when he was young I’m calling it now
27:59 I never noticed canon bolt was right behind Diamondhead in this shot 👀
Also I feel bad for laughing at him curling on the floor as the gang just went 🫤😐😐 like come ON!!
18:30 I want this SO much. Imagine Alien Force and Ultimate Alien, heck even Classic Ben fighting Gwen and Kevin in their powers
Although Gwen is less likely because she was just a magic user in classic
I Was afraid he was gonna do a short review of this episode too 😅🤭
Nice to see Albedo Return once again!
12:38 - 12:48 Underrated joke XDDD
“Try and follow my voice! . . .your ears are over here with me. You can’t hear a word I’m saying, can you?” FURIOUSLY RUNS INTO WALL.
I know, I loved that joke 😂
Bro it's been like 3 months since the intro has been made and it doesn't get old for me I just love it
this episode had me absolutely terrified when i rewatched the series a few years back
Before Albedo appeared each fight had there own symbolism:
The DNAlien: The first fight of uaf and the reason he put the Omnitrix back on
Villgax: The reason he got it in the first place
Aggregor: the villain he couldn’t beat no matter how many times he tried.
