This what Guitar Safaris are suppose to be - killer guitars and a wonderful story (even if bittersweet). What a terrific story and awesome way to remember and honor your brother! A guitar should only be named if it has a great story. My uncle willed me his 1958 Fender Stratocaster in custom color yellow. I loved it since childhood. My uncle played it on a small town rural Midwestern radio show in the late 50’s and early 60’s. After his funeral (in 1992) we went back to my aunt’s house. After about an hour she brought out the case and said, “You’re Uncle Walter knew how much you love this old guitar and wanted you to have it.” It was a complete surprise. I play it almost every day. I’ve been offered a lot of money for it, but it’s going to my son. Of course I simply named it “Uncle Walter”.

I’ve visited ECG since 2007 when I come to Seattle. Every time I have visited Jay and the entire staff have have been kind and welcoming even though there’s no way I could afford anything like this Burst in the video (or ever the guitars that go from “only” $10,000!). I hope the gentleman can take some comfort knowing that his brother’s memory will live on through this Les Paul masterpiece. Wonderful presentation. You folks are awesome.
When I was in the Airforce, a Staff Sergeant I worked with had a 50's model Les Paul and he let me play it. WOW!!!! it was like driving a Cadillac. Very little effort making chords. It was like a comfortable pair of jeans.
