It's definately not the oldest., but one of the most beautful and famous. The oldest one is 100 years older then this one and its about 11km to the north from this one, and there are many which are older, however this one is famous because of its architectural precission and paintings. The Mosque was built in 1449-1451 financed by Hasan Nazeer who was bBosnian born from the town of Focha where the mosque was located. He was a kind of a manager of all mines in BosniProvince for the Empire. He hired the Student of Mimar Sinan named Ramadhan to build the Mosque. In the town itslef there are older mosques like Sultan Bayazid II Mosque built in1500.
The beautiful thing is that the Qur'an of the mosque was safeguarded by a Serb woman who had hidden it during the war from chetniks. She returned it and refused to reveal her identity. Posessing a Qur'an or saving Bosniaks and Croats in the war was also dangerous for Serbs, they could be executed.
