Great review .. the only thing stopping me buying the MT34 is the ball head .. I already have a metal phone clamp (also Ulanzi) so would prefer a straightforward ball head, without the added clamp.

The numbers are the length in inches, so just ask yourself how much of the frame do you want to take up? If you don't know, buy the MT 42 and don't use the tip extensions for the fuller field of view.
Steve, I use it with my Sony DSLR and it handles that OK. It's a shorter unit (32") but you can sit it on a table or some other flat surface when you're outside and filming. Thanks for the post!

Yep, it has a pretty good sized clamp for the phone that is also very deep so you can use it with a thicker case on the phone as well.
