my cat that I had since I was a 1 year old kid, til the time she died when I was in my 20s (she lived for more than 20 years, and she chose me when I was around 10 lol ) caught a snake and brought it to the yard where my parents were washing a car, it was a little green snake, so guess what my mom picked up instead of the hose. haha. Also she was the only cat Ive ever seen successfully catch a squirrel. I live in Arizona now, watching cats catch snakes here is interesting, I saw one on a late night walk that had a Western Diamondback rattlesnake. This cat had it by the head..it rattled like crazy..the cat killed it.. as I was walking around my block.. and then ate part of it..the snake was maybe 4-5 feet long.
At least it was not alive mouse. Like my cat did to me.

Your cat wants to PLAY with you! Take the hint; it will be so rewarding. Dangly toys, feathers (cheap, from the dollar store!) and lightweight, rolling balls. If you can, fill small toys with dry treat foods, or small bite-sized pieces of chicken or whatever food your cats love, with holes small enough for the food to fall out or be retrieved by your cat, during play. They will want to play more, so make sure to spring food-filled toys on your cats during a time convenient for you, because you may be picking up small bits they grew bored with. However, it is definitely worth the try.

@@WXKFA Close your eyes slowly at him while looking in his eyes. He closes his eyes when you're looking directly at him because he trusts you. Does he become anxious or upset when you're not looking at him? If he stands up and comes towards you with his tail straight up when you're not looking at him it's because not looking at him means you trust him and that could mean you want affection from him, so he stands up for that.
@@puppycatsbee I think it might just be anxiety because if he wakes up and does not see me he either meows or starts looking for me and then positions himself between me and e.g computer screen so that I end up staring him, then goes to sleep again. Kinda pain but probably goes away with age.. Hasn't done slow blinks, didn't react to mine either. Basically refuses to sleep unless there's a line of sight.

3:23 actually staring into each other's eyes for a long time could mean that you're trying to challenge each other.. if your cat looks directly at you just blink slowly. That's why they look at you, to see if you're going to tell them that they can trust you. Never stare into any animal's eyes for a long time. My cat doesn't stare at me and every time he looks at me I just blink slowly at him and he does it back to me and we actually have a really close relationship for a cat and a human. He loves being around me and sleeping on me.
So yeah just blink slowly at your cat to reassure them that you're still friends and they can trust you.

But actually I knew all this by instinct, I find most of them aren't really Higher Algebra, but for some people I hope this may help if they have their first cat for instance and aren't sure. One of my cats used to do The Nibble and I always knew it was a friendly playful gesture simply by context and the gentleness.
Just one of them didn't like to show her belly but the other ones couldn't wait 🤗🤗
I do know that the more cats you have/had the more you will know what the signs are in general but also if your cat has its own special way that would mean "f*ck off" for most cats, but not for yours. You learn along the way with each cat, but as said, each one also had its own special ways.
Oh and although it sounds obvious... but don't take him or her being there for granted. Enjoy each moment fully in the here and now as much a you can. It feels really different if you pet or bellyrub while watching tv or focussing your full attention on your cat. The latter is so much more rewarding and will really "stay" with you more.
