I went to Joefest last year, really fun show. With Hasbro producing a Vamp I hope you can do a comparison of the 3D print to the mass producing for quality, cost, play value and display ability.
The 3D Prints are cool and everything but for myself I only like what hasbro pulse or hasbro themselves makes available to us Joe and Cobra Classified Series Collectors!!! It's a slow process but it's getting there!
Those replicas look terrific. The success of the HasLab vehicles has shown Hasbro that collectors want the vehicles; it's only a matter of which they can produce realistically. As much of fans might want a W.H.A.L.E., that thing scaled up to Classified would be bigger than a bathtub. l love the vehicles you highlighted here. I think a V.A.M.P. will be coming sooner than later. And with all the arctic figures that've gone up for pre-order, I can see a Polar Battle Bear coming to the Classified line. Maybe it'll include Frostbite if they don't think they can make a SnowCat.
I think Hasbro could combine the Wolverine and MOBAT fairly easily. The vintage line reused the bottom of the different tanks all the time with the bridge layer, Equalizer and the Lynx. I think the next Haslab is going to be the Rattler, with Wild Weasel and possibly the Strato-vipers.
Good review on your part!!! If you like the 3D and anyone else dose Go for it!!! But for me I'm sticking with the original slow goes the joe 😮 but he does go 😅
Hasbro has a Vamp coming. Valaverse has a 5 man armored suv with turret. And Mafex has a 1/12 scale similar truck in the works. Valaverse has an announced price of $185. Available in tan and dark gray. They just posted their first factory test shots yesterday. No word on Hasbro’s price, but it’s thought to be around that. It will be retail or D2C via Pulse. Not a HasLab. Mafex will be expensive as all things Mafex. I’m guessing at $350.
It's inexplicable to me that they have yet to make the Fang and Skyhawk for Classified. They needn't be huge or expensive, but they would make such a difference to our collections, and I know they would sell like hot cakes! After that they should make the A.W.E Striker and Ferret ATV to cover the ground attack aspect, and even if they never make any other vehicles, those four would be enough.
Nice 3D work ! great, anyway with brand toys : it's always bigger and bigger...i like only vintage size ( from 20th century ! lol ) ...Too much bigger means too much place at home...was same situation with Lego and 1978 minifigures arrival : everything become more bigger...good luck for a Flagg at this size...anyway take care and good future work, there's a market there, but not in too slow 3D process...Bye Bro : )
So you are the person that bought those at Joefest! If they would have made it back to Raleigh, they would be mine! 😂 nice grabs, I did get a Vamp and a Pak Rat, I wanted the Wolverine! You got it! I’m so jealous! Also, we share a name, I am Trey as well! Those Hama signed comics are awesome! I’m even more jealous! Great grabs!
I’m not a Joe collector, but I can’t believe Star Wars vehicles haven’t made much headway in The Black Series. And don’t get me started on a legends Spider-Mobile😂. At least a Peter Parked-Car…c’mon Hasbro!
Supposedly the Black Series First Order Special Force Ti Fighter was why we don't get nice things now. I'm sure they will work up slowly to bigger things I think enough people scream FERRET at them often enough to get the point with that one.
I'm not sure if you and I picked up our 3D printed vehicles from the same person, but I picked up a Classified Zartan swamp skier from a guy. I ultimately ended up selling it on because it was too flimsy to hold a Classified figure. 3D printing just isn't there yet IMO, especially for the boutique price.
You need the correct mix plastic for the parts if it's plain PLA it's to brittle and if it's Nylon it won't take the detail. It is getting better though The flexible stuff works much better now and Transparent plastics are improving a bit too.
such a great vid! of the vehicles shown here, I owned the FANG, one brother owned the VAMP, and another owned the Wolverine and Skyhawk. My fave Joe vehicle of all time is definitely the Skyhawk... fave Cobra vehicle might be the Rattler.
If I could find good STL files I'd make mine and I don't have any OG vehicles to scan either. So I'm a mix bag I would definitely 3D my own as well as if price was right buy officially licensed
I think these 3D printed réplicas are good enough. Hasbro will offer excuses as to why they won’t make them or if they do make them it will cost the collector 70% more than the product is actually worth and it will be limited supplies which means after it sells out you’re at the mercy of the guys who purchased them up in the first days to sell them at 50% markup from retail. The customizer community is always the way to go with these kinds of purchases and I’m seeing that to be true with the figures if you know someone who does this. What is being done with customized figures in the 6 in Joe line is remarkable and high quality
@@CarbonScoring oh absolutely!! Me as well! I just wish I’d started collecting classified from last year, I missed so much of the hard to find now figures lol and then H.I.S.S. Backer thing, though we don’t know how solid it is still from a QC perspective. But yes, I’m excited for the VAMP and clutch and the name reveals upcoming
Dude wow. Amazing! Agusta Georgia huh? Wonder if Hama will be there this year 🤔?? Oh and I'd love to see the Rattler. I've been rebuilding Joe vehicles here lately.
@CarbonScoring I'll have to look into possibly going. I think it would be amazing to meet him and good people like you and myself. That and see what he'd charge to sign some of my X-Men/ Wolverine comics he worked on. 💪 Sad to say he isn't getting any younger.
Yeah, Hasbro has to know that they're losing some business to custom 3D printing. Me personally, I would love to get some of these, but the price point is beyond my reach. I can't throw down $500 for a 3D printed vehicle. Although I can certainly understand why folks charge that much. I also can't stomach the 3D print texture left behind, that you're supposed to sand off and make smooth, but no one wants to put in the elbow-time to do it. That said, I STRONGLY suspect that the VAMP is forthcoming from Hasbro. Folks may not have picked up on the pattern, but Hasbro and Valaverse are TIGHTLY interlinked. Hasbro pays attention to what Valaverse does and Valaverse pays attention to what Hasbro does. Now, Vala produced the 1st Sgt Slaughter, so Hasbro followed suit. Vala made female troopers, Hasbro followed suit. Vala releases Steel Brigade in both male/female and Hasbro follows suit with a male/female "Steel core" set. Vala releases Covert Condor...who just HAPPENS to look like Chuckles...and.....Hasbro follows suit and announces Chuckles. So...to the pattern. Vala announces their first vehicle and it's an armored jeep with a top-mounted gun. SO....I WONDER what vehicle Hasbro will release next? ;)
The VAMP is my #1 want from Hasbro for this line as well, but I have to be honest, I really hope they don't go full 1:1 Classic recreation with it. I kind of wish they would stop doing the figures in a near 1:1 with the classic designs as well. I want the line to be heavily inspired by the classic designs but given just a touch of modern military design. Rock n Roll is a perfect example of what I want the line to be going forward, just enough classic to make the character recognizable but with enough modern design elements to make them not look anachronistic. Like Tunnel Rat looks awesome, but why does a guy who sneaks around through tunnels and sewers carrying around an M60 with a huge ass scope on the top of it? That's the kind of thing they should be updating and sticking to the classic designs because its classic.
if they do a new wolverine they need to update it to hold more figures. A vehicle that big that only holds one figure has limited play value IMO. How about removing the cargo storage and putting a figure with a machine gun on a pintal mount there? Also add some footpegs and grab handles around the tank so it can ferry guys around when not in combat. One thing you see allot of in old war photographs are infantry grabbing any free space the can on a tank for a free ride sometimes. One things tankers don't usually mind cause the best thing to counter some goof trying to stick an RPG up your tail pipe is some alied infantry around your tank. 😂😂
Faithful replicas are nice but many of the details that looked ok at a smaller scale really start to suffer at 1/12. Hasbro seems to be striking a nice balance with the vehicles we know are coming and the RAM, between classic lines and modern detail.
Those look great! I live in Augusta and do JoeFest every year. Love heading down there and checking everything out. I saw a custom Devilfish that looked awesome, should’ve picked it up, but didn’t…regretting that now. Who made the customs in your video. I’d like to buy some for my collection.
Hasbro doesn't have to work hard to improve on 3D printed versions. Hasbro just has to work. Thankfully we get the Vamp soon and from what's been shown so far, it puts the 3D printer facsimile to shame. I will always wait for the quality of official product. 3D printing is still nowhere near molds.
