    Great experiment! I wish you had mentioned noise levels - which is a prime factor for many doing mods such as these. Whenever my original video card fans go, I replace them with noctuas, and wow the difference.

    Another awesome 🤩 video TL 🥰🥳👍. Even thou the mods don’t always work out ….. they give many the opportunity to tweak, tinker and improve upon standard designs for better over performance or quietness 😇👍💪. Also 3D printers and a bit of knowledge, time and patience can yield some great innovations which can assist many so I’m pleased to see people out there doing this as I don’t have a 3D printer or the know how 😂🤣😅😝

    While 3D printing is fun...you can just spend $2 on some washers, to raise the fans up and close the gap.

  • @bullzebub
    @bullzebub ปีที่แล้ว

    another thing you can do is have one fan running constantly at a speed where you cant hear it. that would mean that the other fan would only ramp up under really high load.

  • @Stormpriest

    Does the Galax 4080 have these same features? I know it has the support bracket and even comes with an additional fan that you sit on top of the GPU if not it normally straight into the PCIE.
    What does it have? The same ability of being opened aka the six screws etc?

    if you leave this card without fans can it run like passively cooled by the airflow of a normal case?

  • @VelcroSnake93

    Deshrouding with the NCASE generally worked better with the fans as exhaust instead of intake, you should give that a shot and see if it's better. (fans pulling hot air away from the GPU and directly out of the bottom of the case instead of blowing up onto the GPU and the hot air tries to escape the case some other way)

    Sir, can you recommend me which one has good temp between ASROCK RX 6700 XT CHALLENGER OC and MSI RX 6700 XT MECH 2X OC ?

  • @cks2020693
    @cks2020693 ปีที่แล้ว

    with UV + OC you can also get stock performance with 6-10C lower temps

  • @GregoryShtevensh

    I wish I got the Galax 4080 now haha. I got the Aero OC because it was white but I have had galax in the past and honestly they make great cards. I just love the idea of 3d printing my own custom shrouds

  • @themadrusski2256
    @themadrusski2256 ปีที่แล้ว

    Asus TUF 40 series are the same way, the metal shroud comes off with the fans(easy swap type), with single digit amount of screws.

  • @analogicparadox

    Would've loved a noise comparison

    • @rookm13
      @rookm13 ปีที่แล้ว

      most likely quieter since it would be a larger fan moving an equivalent amount of air with lower RPM.
      IMO, i feel kind of cucked though since the whole video buildup went to "now i can fit this card into this case" but the narrative was sort of focusing on the performance improvement.
      the video spons being a webstore and then feeling weird on the 3d printer also getting some focus...this has been a weird experience.

    Obviously a successful mod. Being not any worse than stock and being able to have the card in an otherwise non fitting case was the mission.
    Also: There for sure is some more headroom for tuning which would give it a clear edge about stock. Like a BIOS mod ..

    Before pandemic I can see people comment that amd cards is for mining and not for gamers but right now if you will go to sites that has list of top hardware for mining you can see that nvidia card dominated them all. So yeah your guess is right. ✌️😅

    12gb is a no no

    • @Shadow-bk7lf
      @Shadow-bk7lf ปีที่แล้ว +2

      12gb is fine for now. The only reason people feed you that info is because of new HORRIBLY UNOPTIMIZED games like Jedi surviver made for 16gb vram consoles. After a few months the game will work perfectly fine. 8gb is a no no. 12 Gb is perfectly fine. 16gb+ is recommended because you can play all new day one games without “bad performance.

  • @ntzt2150
    @ntzt2150 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Small factor is cool, but so incredibly unecessary and suboptimal.

    • @VelcroSnake93
      @VelcroSnake93 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's only suboptimal if you don't optimize correctly. For instance, his setup in this video likely would have performed much better with the fans in exhaust, pulling heat away from the GPU heatsink and out the bottom of the case instead of blowing air onto the heatsink and the hot air exhaust up through the case. (exhaust is normally how people do deshrouds in the NCASE, as it generally works much better) And SFF is just as unnecessary as a lot of other stuff in PC building, like RGB, it's all depends on the preference of the user of how necessary it actually it.

    What a waste of time thanks for letting us know the gpu is easily modable but why did you never compare in like situations? you could have put the stock gpu in case oh fans don't fit well thats what itx cases often require or implemented 15 mil fans if possible. you could have tested the deshroud on a open air bench to see what the actual performance before and after mod is. Then instead of noise normalizing you fan speed normalized???? that tells us nothing. You literally proved nothing and then formed an opinion about it?
