    Based on the manufacture date, that’s likely the San Gabriel Christian School 1978 Christmas Pageant. That was Mr. Chuck Wilson’s voice at toward the end of the film. He was the Principal and a really nice man. (don’t know if he’s still with us) He had previously been a counselor at my Jr. High School, and moved to San Gabriel Christian.

    Great as always watching and hearing faces and voices from the past resurrected. As mentioned before, I envy Americans for having such wonderful music, obviously made by people who know what they are doing, at public schools. Here in Europe it was so extremely simple, it hurts. The sound is quite clear for its age, even though it suffers from severe wow and flutter. As usual: the person who shot this has no idea, so we get almost everything out of focus. Still it's a fantastic memory. Thanks for sharing these treasures!

    The little boy’s yawn was classic 🙂. Looks like a lot of people put plenty of work into the program. The film Would’ve been a great memory for the filmmaker and family as well as others that were there.

    That was quite a Christmas concert the kids put on! The vocal arrangement was fairly elaborate for youngsters. It's interesting how the magnetic sound recording holds up despite the obviously degraded film. Thanks for processing, scanning and sharing it!

      Thank you!! Funny how that works with the magnetic track. All of the times I've (recently) tried using old sound film, the audio never comes out good at all. When I process sound film from the same era that was shot back then, the audio usually always comes out nice. I'm thinking it may have something to do with the sound recording heads of the cameras now.

      @@Filmboy24 Recording heads (and playbacks too) get magnetized over time, you can buy demagnetizers for tape decks to solve this :) (of course there can also be other causes, but I figured I'd share this info from the cassette world!)

      @@koekje00005 Thank you!! Do you think this is more likely the case than the old, unused magnetic track being bad?

    Never gets old Mike .. you're closing in on Joey! For some reason I didn't get a notification that you posted this but I usually make a habit to check the channel. Not sure if you forgot to click the button to send notifications or there was just some other glitch .. anyway ,, still love the work .. The new 4K looks good next to the old unit

    Unrelated question on Ektachrome: based on your experience what is the aging/fading of the colours like with E6 Ektachrome compared to say vision3 film (assuming they're archived properly/at the same time & same way)?

    • @Filmboy24
      @Filmboy24  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Based on my personal experience, it's very minimal on both types. I think you would notice fading a bit more on most all reversal films over time and negative film is typically much easier to correct/grade.

    One of the Nikons I got from eBay had an undeveloped Ektachrome type A cart in it. I finished it. (Plus I filmed my 200t cart too)
