    As a big fan of these cars, I have some concerns. First, driving with no brakes and hitting things. Front end parts can't be had and yours was good in that way. Also, even one shift of the trans into park while it is moving , especially at those speeds, can destroy the parking sprag. These are tiny gears, not a friction surface. When they break off, you need to rebuild the transmission.
    You don't just lose park, you lose the whole transmission.
    Finally, no vintage Mopar needs to have the trunk lock drilled or destroyed to get inside. It is almost ridiculous how easy it is to open the trunk by unscrewing the two bolts that hold the latch. Your remove the seat bottom then the seat back. You can do it from inside the trunk. Or, if you can't squeeze in there, you can duct tape some socket extensions together and unscrew the bolts from the inside of the interior. With the giant holes in the floor, you probably could have gotten to the bolts that way.
    The good news, is it appears these 1973 trunk locks are available new now. They are listed in the sales material as being stouter than the locks in previous model years. So, for a while, only 72 and older replacement locks were available.
    If a trunk or hood won't lock or unlock, once it is open, the latch can be moved up or down or the angle checked.

    That first box you swapped is a voltage regulator the other box is your electronic ignition box and that is the one you want to change to get spark. That box in the trunk is a electronic ignition box that is what needs to be changed on the firewall to get spark.

    No brakes, then downshift into lower gears, and then use the emergency brake slowly with hand on the release lever. I had used 1977 Dodge Monaco A38 package with bad brakes, and I strategically used the e-brake with transmission downshifts to slow each time, until I got the brakes fully replaced.

      @@tcfinds Did you put that bar back in position in the rear drum? The emergency brake needs that.

    yikes, that is going to be a project. Hard to find body parts and very few repop parts, though you can get a new grill for these

    That car deserves a good life of being rebuilt not turned into a race car

    Good thing your fathers knows the difference between a voltage regulator and and Electronic ignition box. How do you get all your mopars to run without knowing what is what or did your father teach you everything

      I have seen other youtube guys think the EGR timer on the fire wall is an ignition box.

      It's going to take someone that knows what they are doing to get that car going the guy could not even get his brakes to work and is going to fubar his trans driving the thing without brakes. If he would replace the flex lines I'm sure he would have brakes

  • @79tazman
    @79tazman ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Let me teach you about brakes your getting no fluid out of the lines because all your rubber flex lines and swelled up and blocked you got to replace the flex lines for sure and if you still have issues it could be the brake booster itself that is causing the issue but the flex lines are clogged and I bet it's your issue
