  • Hey everyone Ian here!
Today we got another pretty special one, this is the car that started it all for me. This is also the car that taught me a lot of what I know today about restoration. It’s no longer mine but I’m glad to see it’s just how I left it!! Figured I’d share it all with you
Thanks for watching! As always let us know what you think in the comments and please subscribe for more if you haven’t already!! Cheers !

picked up my current 73 RR and its a 440 GTX. The dude i got it from had no idea what he had and was stripping it out to be a stock car for local oval races. Needless to say, it's still a work in progress. Yours is a beauty man.

Great video. I had a ‘74 360, auto, bench seat, road wheels, lemon twist yellow with uncommon white strips and white interior. The white strips made it look ghostly. Re: washers, they were affixed to and moved with the wipers. ‘74 had significant power degradations due to emissions but it was still a quick car.

I have the mist green '73 Roadrunner and it gets many compliments!! I've already received many awards and I've only had it 2 years. This color is beautiful and everything looks great!! 🙂

Does your RR have stripes? what color if so? Could you send me a picture. I regret changing the from time to time although it turned out amazing in the yellow and black. What engine/trans does yours have?

You can always tell a good restoration on these '73-74 Plymouth B-Bodies when the rear bumper trim isn't flat-out missing! Of course the original had a steel core and the aftermarket is just a rubber strip, but at least it's there and looks great! NOT to focus on something so trivial, but it all adds up to the whole.

This was a fantastic video and beautiful rebuild! Great job explaining what the car means to you. I’ve watched it at least 3 times because the 1973 RR was my first car and I still have it. It is about 75% complete, started it in 2020. Doing some small mods but when finished, it will look just like the day I garaged it in 1988. After watching this video, I am almost jumping out of my skin to have my resto completed!!
Thanks again for this inspiring vid!

Thank you very much for the kind words. It was a labour of love. Many things happen in our lives but cars always remain my constant. I have watched your 1973 Yellow Roadrunner restoration video several times. I am just finishing the interior of a 1973 Roadrunner I found 22 months ago. These are very special cars that seem to become a part of your life. The original owner drove the car 102K miles and parked it in a barn. That would have been in the early 1980's. It was found by a car museum that purchased it in 2005. It was moved to a garage and stored until I found it in 2022. I am the third owner but the second driver. The car was infested with mice. Unfortunately, they chewed the build sheet and made a nest from it. I have the metal plate under the hood you so nicely described. I was wondering if you might have the meanings of the codes in a format that can be shared. I can find information up to 1972 but not 1973. I am putting together a narrative of the car which I can share if there is any interest. The car is a 340ci matched with a three speed slap stick auto transmission. It came with front bucket seats. It is a body stripe delete vehicle. I have found the original owner and she mentioned that it was ordered with a dealer installed hood tachometer which still works.

I've looked everywhere to find a model of the 1973 Roadrunner, can't find one anywhere, I was the proud owner of an 1973 Plymouth Roadrunner , sehara beige body color black interior bench seats, 318 4bbl manual shift in floor. Just a heads up..
In the sunbelt states, where you have a high temp climate....
    160°-170° thermostat is required... . .
Don't need the aftermarket radiator and ele fans that most believe is the ans.......
    Expl
    The car was running hot....
    Reason....195° thermostat.....
Always check the thermostat before a new rad/fan change......thx
