    My favorite set up, I love the time at the end where there's no talking and just soft music. Also absolutely love the shrimp and snails. I suffer from anxiety so watching your beautiful planted aquariums is relaxing for me. I was into the hobby for many years but gave away all my tanks, equipment and beautiful fish when I suffered a back injury. ~ Good luck to you MD

    I happened on this channel by accident and I must say I've been watching none stop! Love Matt as well and I'm going to be glued to his channel as well. I think what I love most about it is that its UK based so I'm more likely to source a lot of the materials you use. Channels from some other countries tend to foget that they cater to an international community....and I get the jokes!!😂😂. Oh! Thanks for the videos.

    Thank you for sharing your videos. They are very inspiring. I've kept tropical and cold water tanks since my teens. I cannot manage the upkeep of larger tanks anymore so have started keeping various smaller tanks. Unfortunately there are not many good shops near where I live so rely on info you share. I prefer my tanks to be as natural as possible. So all the help you share with the care of plants and substrates is a godsend I've learnt a lot. I am about to do a 24litre shrimp tank to devide my shrimps up they breed so quickly. Can all shrimps live together ? I only have blue velvet ones at the moment all advice is good 👍

    • @ThatOneTestSubject
      @ThatOneTestSubject 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depending on the type of shrimp, as long as their water parameter requirements are the same or similar enough, most can be kept together! From what I understand, Amano shrimp can be quite food aggressive, so if you're keeping them, I'd keep them in their own tank. On the opposite end, Bamboo shrimp are so harmless they don't even come with little pincers!
      As for breeding shrimp, if you get more Neocaridinas, like your blue velvets, they'll breed together. And from what I understand, Blue + Anything not Blue = Wild coloration. So if you want to keep your shrimp all blue, I'd keep to just your blue dreams (I don't know if this applies to blue rilis and blue dreams, however!).
      If you have too many shrimp and not enough space, you could always try to sell them locally! We have a few colors in my area; a gent who does red cherries, blue dreams, and blue rilis, and another gent who does yellow backs. I'm hoping to become the Pumpkin Orange lady. :)

    • @shendashort9239
      @shendashort9239 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you angry pagan. I will always keep a tank purely for blues. But I would like a mixed tank I'm not bothered about them losing colour from inter mixing as I have no intention to sell on. I may have to sell furniture to have more tank space if they Continue to keep doing so well. All advice is good I really must learn how to do proper water testing and keep check myself instead of just going to the garden centre with pots of water. I do have test kits but don't really understand them too much I rely on advice of maidenhead aquatics in thanet, its a case of catching the right guy at right time though

    • @ThatOneTestSubject
      @ThatOneTestSubject 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I once heard that shrimp do best in 'mindful negligence', as in 'don't change the water too much', so whatever you've got going for them must be perfect! I hope you enjoy the mixed color shrimp as much as I do, they're like little confetti in a tank! I hope your tank does amazing!

    Nice build. I actually thought at first that you were going to go for a "White Cliffs of Dover" look with short grassy plants on the top. You almost have that look. (hint: future Iwagumi style build?). Then put a few small rasboras in there and they would look like Spitfires flying out over the coast.

    Love the videos, such a shame we moved from Somerset last year as I'd have loved to have visited the guys at Maidenhead, had I known how good the team there was (and had tanks).
    What I'd love to see is an Eartheater friendly aquascape, ideally planted, if you fancied a project in the future?!. I am about to take delivery of another big tank (1,000l to go with my 2,500l) and plan big shoals of tetras, Earth Eaters and others, but really not sure how to approach the scape. My current thought it loading it with wood and attaching moss and ferns, but I'd love taller plants to flow in the current.
    Regardless, always inspired by your tanks.

    Gosh I love shrimp! I love your beach idea. I might have to do something similar in one of my tanks. Have you thought about doing a forest build? With a black-ish water tank and small sticks going up straight like pine trees?

    Beautiful tank! Waiting for an update already.
    I'm not sure if you did it, but i would protect the filter intake . Baby shrimp can get sucked into the filter.

    Hi. I enjoyed your video, making a wonderfull set up for neocaridina shrimps. I have 2 small tanks with neo's and I'm wondering how you can put the shrimps directly in the new tank, without getting them used to the new water? Greetings from Susanne, Denmark 🇩🇰

    I use the cory algae wafers to feed my shrimp. It's awesome to see the snails and the shrimp I have congregating around the wafers having a good munch on them.

    Sandy sand, I love that. I think you would have fitted in well on the Australian naming commity that named a large desert full of sand and called it the Great Sandy Desert, the Western part of Austrailia West Austrialia, the South Part South Austrailia.........
