No problem. Some exciting stuff will be posted soon! I'm getting my rebuilt cylinder head next week, so we'll start it back up and go for a drive!

Quick question... my 280z doesn't have the bcdd valve hooked up meaning the wiring and hoses. Can you possibly send what wires connect to as well as a hose diagram?

Hi Min, Thanks for another great video. You didn't mention the BCDD (Boost Control Deceleration Device) when talking about the Throttle Body, it is at the bottom. I've been having issues with mine. There is a set/lock screw in the side of mine and then an adjustment screw on the bottom. The adjustment screw is frozen. I was hoping that some PB Blaster would help free it up, but no luck. Looks like I am going to have to take the throttle body out to be able to work on it. This video will help with that. Cheers!

Hey Simon, Yup, I don't discuss the BCDD in detail in this video, and I I only mention it in passing around 1:24. How did you find out that it's your BCDD that's acting up?

When coming to a stop and shifting into neutral the rpm's hang from about 2k to 1.5k before I reach 10 MPH and then they drop to normal. We are supposed to be able to adjust them, but I can't turn the screw on the bottom. It is frozen.

HI, do you know if the throttle flap closes all the way or it has to have a gap ?

Hi! Thanks for your videos. I will restore a 1976 280z in the next year, and I'm learning a lot watching you. I have a question for you, in this moment, the car is not running, it has afm and tps missing, but, checking injector connectors and harness, I think the EFI system is in worse condition than the seller told me, the ecu's box looks dirty an a little rust, and I'm afraid it's damaged or not operational. The question is, ¿Do you know if there is a way to make a bench testing to the ecu? I apologize because my english is not good.
    Greetings from Mexico

Hey Israel, your English is perfectly fine =)
Yes, there is a way to bench test the ECU. Check out this link (www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/efisystem/280zfuelinjectionbook.pdf). I believe there's a ECU testing section, and all you need is a multimeter to check that it's working.
It's my humble guess though that the ECU isn't the fault here. Depending on the condition of the car, there's much more likely reasons why your car isn't running. I assume the car turns over freely at least when you turn the key?

Thanks for your answer! I printed the document to start reading it. The main reason why the car does not start is because some elements of the ignition system needs to be replaced (including the coil). I 'm just triying to advance identifing components that can be bench tested to get a better idea of the elements to be replaced. The car needs a lot of work (and love), but I think it's recoverable. In my country, the Zs are hard to find, Datsun did not import them to Mexico, so, all the Z here are from USA, But that situation, implies a big problem, the import status, it is very difficult to find a Z legally imported, if your car is not legal, you can not get licence plates, and, today, due a new customs laws, it's imposible to import a Z, fortunately, my car is legal.

I accidentally moved the round door flap inside while cleaning and now it runs rough and dies at idle. I think I threw the TVA black plastic thing on the side out of adjustment. Trying to figure out how to adjust it back.

Are you talking about the throttle position sensor? There are three prongs in the TPS box. The middle prong should be touching the right prong at idle, and it should be touching the left prong at around 3K RPM.
