I know you're tidying up the intake, but that coolant line on top of the intake manifold is the EGR heater. Can delete (looks like the rest of your EGR is plated off). Means you can delete that metal coolant line around the front of the block as well.

Well, I have to step in here and say that the Howell Fuel Injection system is the best way to go. IT IS SO SIMPLE! It uses a GM TBI system that is computer controlled and proven over decades. I have been working with Howell to develop their kit for Datsun Z Cars, and it works great. It is a kit meant for a 4.3L Chevy V6 so the CFM is not even close to being an issue as the weakest link in a system. This kit is not available yet as Howell and I have not come to a final kit solution, but it should be available within a year I would think. It is for all L-series Z-car engines - L24 through L28 and 3.1 and beyond. It uses an intake manifold meant for a 4bbl carb, but I used Howell's TBI system instead of a carb.

Thanks for this, going to tackle this today. Your intake manifold video will be helpful as well, I'm going after a blown headgasket

I had to replace the injectors on my zx, and everyone online was saying that you had to take the fuel rail off in order to do that... I was able to undo a few bolts and pull it up just enough to take the injectors out. So glad I didn't have to do all this, lol 😅😂

I did the same thing on mine the first time to clean them. The second time I pulled the rail off since my engine was pulled out and it was extremely easier to do it that way

@@spartan1876 Ahh that's a good way to go about it for sure. Sometimes I wish my engine was out just to do some of these simple things 😂

I don’t see it in this video but did you delete the fuel rail fan? I pulled it out but don’t know whether or not to connect the two wires to themselves or cap them off. Anyone got an idea?

Finally getting rid of the trombone? While you’re doing that you should clean up everything else by eliminating emissions crap that doesn’t work with some block off plates. I had to pass mine in Ohio and they said with everything eliminated it was cleaner than a lot of new cars emissions wise.
