It makes perfect sense. Had Julie Pierce never met Miyagi she would have taken a path as dark as Tory if not darker because she would have probably taken matters into her own hands and killed her tormentor by stabbing him several times landing on Jail and becoming a career criminal instead. As the Kingpin says to Poindexter (Bullseye) "Rage cannot stay inside, it has to come out"
I personally do not see what all the hatred for The Next Karate Kid stems from, I thought and still believe it was a very good movie. And please stop perpetuating the rumor that Julie might be Tory's mother.
Fr because Tory’s mom is sick in Los Angeles and Julie lives in Boston with hopefully Eric and it wouldn’t make sense if Julie is sick and was trained by miyagi and yet let her daughter train at cobra Kai who hates Daniel. Also Tory would probably have recognized Daniel in the beginning if her mom was Julie who was trained by the same teacher as Daniel

While Amanda can provide financial stability and even offer guidance I think Julie could help Tory control her anger (just like how she was taught to control her anger with the help of Mr. Miyagi) and offer her balance during her struggling times. Plus, they wouldn't kill off a legacy character like Julie.
I think she'd be relevent in season 5/6 more so than season 4. I think Robby will win the All Valley with Miyagi Do against Kreese's orders, which leads to Kreese choking out Robby, Johnny saving him and then a final fight between the two that would be at the end of the season. Julie would be relevent because the final fight should be something like: Johnny vs Kreese Daniel vs Terry Julie vs Mike Robby would also go off to Okinawa to be trained by Chozen I don't see Julie having much importance to S4, so as I said I'd rather her be more important in S5 and 6
@@StryfetheWarrior it has it's decent moments despite it's drawbacks like for example; Ned being somewhat too similar to Johnny Lawrence and Mike Barnes from the original Karate Kid films being a bully and corrupted by his teacher; Colonel Dugan. Dugan being a little too similar to John Kreese in terms of personality and backstory being a ruthless and psychotic war veteran who shows no mercy to anyone who stands on his way. And a plot being somewhat similar to the first Karate Kid movie. But aside from that Julie is an interesting character being more tragic and angry than Daniel. And the film does try it's best to be good.

I preferred Karate Kid 3 over The Next Karate Kid. Mainly because it had Terry Silver and Mike Barnes, who were great villains. Particularly Terry Silver, who was incredibly over the top for most of the movie and had a connection to Kreese (serving in Vietnam with him, getting saved from almost certain death by him, bankrolling the establishment of Cobra Kai in the first place, etc.). And, there's not really any justification for what Silver does beyond helping Kreese getting revenge on the people who ruined his life. Colonel Dugan didn't really have a connection to any of the previous villains and a lot of his actions were retroactively justifiable because of stuff like school shootings. I have no idea how old Michael Ironside is but I'm guessing that he is/was around the same age as Martin Kove. It would have been relatively easy for there to be a connection between Kreese and Dugan based on the fact that both of them served in the Army. It'd be interesting if Julie does appear in Season 4, but I wonder where she'd fit in. A possible additional Sensei for Miyagi-Do/Eagle Fang? A mentor to Sam (or even Tory)?
Stuff like this makes me wonder what if the 3 Ninjas was a part of The Karate Kid universe especially given how 3 Ninjas Kick Back and The Next Karate Kid were released in the same year 1994

I like both KK3 & TNKK but I think I prefer TNNK just because I really found myself liking the Alpha Elite storyline and, overall, the character's relationships with one another (particularly Julie/Ned & Julie/Miyagi). When we eventually get prom in S4 of Cobra Kai, I honestly hope the school has Alpha Elite appear as bodyguards of the dance as it would be cool to see Dugan again (unless Ned has taken over). I'm honestly really excited for Julie to appear and bring characters like Ned & Dugan & the monks along with her haha. And I only now just realized the cranberries reference! What I'm really curious about is what Julie has done with her life since KK4. Some people have said maybe she became a Veterinarian or joined the Army like her father but I'm curious what you think.
Thank you! I think the most likely scenario would be a veterinarian, especially with her love of animals. It seemed she lived in a decent neighborhood so her family was probably well off; I don't see anything completely crazy happening with her life. I'm really more interested in what relationship she's had with Daniel, since they know of each other.

I would hope you do a character analysis of Colonel Dugan in the future. Had this film come out a couple years later, the motivations behind his actions would have been sadly more justified. When the Next Karate Kid came out, audience was probably were laughing at the paranoid colonel, who declared that he formed his group because schools were the targets for terrorist attacks. Today, nobody is laughing. In an era now of active shooter drills it looks like the so-called bad guy was sadly right with his motives even if his actions were wrong. And after the big season 2 school fight, I'd say the doors for an alpha elite Branch opened in the valley sounds like a plot for another season.
Karate Kid 4 was the movie I grew up on. Had the VHS that I watched endlessly. I really hope Julie is introduced into the Cobra Kai show. The moment of Mr Myagis two students meeting would be awesome
Honestly I will say that I thought Julie was just a better student than Daniel was I mean let’s face it Daniel was too much of a whiner and a complainer I mean yeah that’s what Julie was in the beginning but then she instantly changed and started appreciating Mr. Miyagi’s teachings even more.

I watched Next Karate Kid for the 1st time ever last month. Despite the camp, it was alot of fun and I liked more stuff in it than I thought I would. Swank did a great job as well for her first starring role (but I guess that's to be expected from a 2 time Oscar winner LOL). Doesn't look like she will show up in season 5 but I would really like to see her in the show. And I mean in a full season. Not just a cameo or one off
This video is a perfect example of why Julie felt missing from Cobra Kai Season 4. I think there's a script out there where she was in it but Hillary Swank didn't want to commit so they had to rewrite some things.
I think Julie could be a really important character. Especially if they write her in a way that helps the girls, Tory, Aisha and Sam. She could be a main character for a season or two.
Miyagi taught Julie grandfather because he saved is life in war2 , then he taught is son.. he taught is daughter Julie but passed then miyai taught her after. But if u think about it all of thm must of been in war2 , did Julie grandfather or father kno any of them in that war camp..? Like cred or silver ? Miyagi didn't kno cred or silver frm the war , but silver did say something to miyagi about the war in the film 3. No Miyagi didn't teach Julie's father he taught Julie's grandfather, Daniel, Julie and Sam. Julie's father was taught by his father. Sato was also taught by Miyagi's father but Sato taught many american soldiers including his niece Chozen. Daniel also taught Sam, Robby, Hawk, Miguel etc.
Julie Pierce is the character I'm looking forward to the most. Character wise, Julie is Miyagi's final student and clearly the secret weapon once Terry Silver and Kreese become too much for Daniel and Johnny to handle in season 4. I would prefer she's not Tory's terminally I'll mother like people have guessed, but rather has become supreme fighting machine over on the east coast. I can see Julie going to war during Iraq, training herself to become stronger while keeping Miyagi's words and wisdom alive. Years pass, she gets the news of Miyagi's passing and we finally see the famous meeting between Julie and Daniel that the creators have implied. Now with Cobra Kai threatening to kill off Miyagi-Do aka Miyagi-Fang, she finds it crucial to fly over to California and lend a hand. If Julie was in the military like her grandfather as Miyagi were, it would show that counterbalance to Kreese and Terry, that, although they have served our country, they are NO heroes. Julie is a true warrior, fighting for what's right and never forgetting what Miyagi had taught her back in 1994. It'll be emotional for me to see her train Sam, and redeem Tory back to the good side.
It would be interesting comparison to see another practitioner of Karate who also saw its application in war, but this time a Miyagi-Do inheritor. Maybe she can address the real problem with Kreese, Silver and, perhaps, also Dugan; That all of them are actually very ill men, suffering from severe case of PTSD, badly in need of psychological treatment. It would be interesting if Julie returned as a war veteran(maybe she's deployed in afghanistan conflict ? ), who now works as counselor( like Avengers Sam Wilson) and also fosters pets( she can draw analogy between Kreese and this Bulldog she saved from illegal fighting ring) from shelters in her spare time. Would be funny if Johnny or the kids found her from her fostering youtube channel(ala Kitten Lady).
I'm hoping the Alpha Elite is brought back after the defeat of Cobra Kai and the cast has to deal with them also. And Kreese might be helping the Alpha Elite to one-up the defense of Miyagi Do.
I loved the Next Karate Kid, I don't consider it the weakest of the franchises at all, if anything it was the karate dog (ugh pretend that was never made). I love that Julie is truly an angry girl struggling with the loss of her parents and that was something that Miyagi could very much relate to. Love how the difference with her is that she is linked to Miyagi through her grandfather who saved Miyagi in the war and he thanked him by teaching him karate and he taught his son and finally son taught his daughter. Love that her bully is some asshole who wants to claim her as "his" and she tells him NO with a cool praying mantis kick in the face. She was the student who over came anger, Daniel over came indifference, hate/anger and finally fear. I love her love interest with Eric, they totally crushed each other at first sight and he didn't seemed threaten that a girl could kick ass. He looked like a kind of guy who'd proudly say (if she entered a tournament) "that's my girlfriend". I hope we see Julie on the show in the future, maybe also see Jessica Andrews also I'm hoping to see Mike Barnes.
I forgot what video I saw it in but there is a theory that Duggan was the soldier who won in the first death match before Kreese's in his Vietnam flashback.
The ending should be, after the final battle where chozen loses his life helping daniel and johnny against kreese barnes and silver, daniel decides to close cobra kai for good ... then Julie pierce come in the scene and saw Miyagi's portrait, reminisced, daniel learned about her, Julie offered to take over cobra kai,..... that's where daniel and johnny's KK journey ends with Julie pierce taking over. ....And since we're not familiar with her KK villains, audience will not think she would be in the same trouble as johnny and Daniel had been.

The Karate Kid 2010 is canon but not actually canon, they state that if it is canon it’s in the form of a movie made in that universe. So that movie would’ve been inspired by Daniel and Miyagi in the Miyagi universe

No if you mean the first Miyagi do school training yeah but Julie started her karate training even before Daniel did. She is already trained by her father which was later trained by his father (Julie's grandfather). And Julie's grandfather learned from Mr Miyagi during world war 2.

Yeah Colonel Dugan was more of a "lite" version of Kreese so to speak.

Swank did a great job as well for her first starring role (but I guess that's to be expected from a 2 time Oscar winner LOL). Doesn't look like she will show up in season 5 but I would really like to see her in the show. And I mean in a full season. Not just a cameo or one off
This video is a perfect example of why Julie felt missing from Cobra Kai Season 4. I think there's a script out there where she was in it but Hillary Swank didn't want to commit so they had to rewrite some things.
I love to see Julie in Season 4 to help Daniel and Johnny.
I think Julie could be a really important character. Especially if they write her in a way that helps the girls, Tory, Aisha and Sam. She could be a main character for a season or two.
He said Miyagi taught Julie's Grandfather and father but then it said Julie, Daniel, and Sato were the only ones taught outside the family.
Miyagi taught Julie grandfather because he saved is life in war2 , then he taught is son.. he taught is daughter Julie but passed then miyai taught her after.
But if u think about it all of thm must of been in war2 , did Julie grandfather or father kno any of them in that war camp..? Like cred or silver ? Miyagi didn't kno cred or silver frm the war , but silver did say something to miyagi about the war in the film 3.

No Miyagi didn't teach Julie's father he taught Julie's grandfather, Daniel, Julie and Sam. Julie's father was taught by his father. Sato was also taught by Miyagi's father but Sato taught many american soldiers including his niece Chozen. Daniel also taught Sam, Robby, Hawk, Miguel etc.
Julie Pierce is the character I'm looking forward to the most. Character wise, Julie is Miyagi's final student and clearly the secret weapon once Terry Silver and Kreese become too much for Daniel and Johnny to handle in season 4. I would prefer she's not Tory's terminally I'll mother like people have guessed, but rather has become supreme fighting machine over on the east coast. I can see Julie going to war during Iraq, training herself to become stronger while keeping Miyagi's words and wisdom alive. Years pass, she gets the news of Miyagi's passing and we finally see the famous meeting between Julie and Daniel that the creators have implied. Now with Cobra Kai threatening to kill off Miyagi-Do aka Miyagi-Fang, she finds it crucial to fly over to California and lend a hand. If Julie was in the military like her grandfather as Miyagi were, it would show that counterbalance to Kreese and Terry, that, although they have served our country, they are NO heroes. Julie is a true warrior, fighting for what's right and never forgetting what Miyagi had taught her back in 1994. It'll be emotional for me to see her train Sam, and redeem Tory back to the good side.

It would be interesting comparison to see another practitioner of Karate who also saw its application in war, but this time a Miyagi-Do inheritor. Maybe she can address the real problem with Kreese, Silver and, perhaps, also Dugan; That all of them are actually very ill men, suffering from severe case of PTSD, badly in need of psychological treatment.
It would be interesting if Julie returned as a war veteran(maybe she's deployed in afghanistan conflict ? ), who now works as counselor( like Avengers Sam Wilson) and also fosters pets( she can draw analogy between Kreese and this Bulldog she saved from illegal fighting ring) from shelters in her spare time. Would be funny if Johnny or the kids found her from her fostering youtube channel(ala Kitten Lady).
I'm hoping the Alpha Elite is brought back after the defeat of Cobra Kai and the cast has to deal with them also. And Kreese might be helping the Alpha Elite to one-up the defense of Miyagi Do.
I loved the Next Karate Kid, I don't consider it the weakest of the franchises at all, if anything it was the karate dog (ugh pretend that was never made). I love that Julie is truly an angry girl struggling with the loss of her parents and that was something that Miyagi could very much relate to. Love how the difference with her is that she is linked to Miyagi through her grandfather who saved Miyagi in the war and he thanked him by teaching him karate and he taught his son and finally son taught his daughter. Love that her bully is some asshole who wants to claim her as "his" and she tells him NO with a cool praying mantis kick in the face. She was the student who over came anger, Daniel over came indifference, hate/anger and finally fear. I love her love interest with Eric, they totally crushed each other at first sight and he didn't seemed threaten that a girl could kick ass. He looked like a kind of guy who'd proudly say (if she entered a tournament) "that's my girlfriend". I hope we see Julie on the show in the future, maybe also see Jessica Andrews also I'm hoping to see Mike Barnes.
I forgot what video I saw it in but there is a theory that Duggan was the soldier who won in the first death match before Kreese's in his Vietnam flashback.

... then Julie pierce come in the scene and saw Miyagi's portrait, reminisced, daniel learned about her, Julie offered to take over cobra kai,..... that's where daniel and johnny's KK journey ends with Julie pierce taking over. ....And since we're not familiar with her KK villains, audience will not think she would be in the same trouble as johnny and Daniel had been.

@@StryfetheWarrior Yes, before he was rude and very annoying and more so when he went to confront Jhonny destroying his car, but the third season I was surprised to see him more responsible for his work, he helped Daniel and Amanda with the counselor as much as he could, Daniel also mentioned that Loui was the first on her doorstep when Sam got hurt, showing that despite his stupid things he cares about the family.

The Karate Kid 2010 is canon but not actually canon, they state that if it is canon it’s in the form of a movie made in that universe. So that movie would’ve been inspired by Daniel and Miyagi in the Miyagi universe

No if you mean the first Miyagi do school training yeah but Julie started her karate training even before Daniel did. She is already trained by her father which was later trained by his father (Julie's grandfather). And Julie's grandfather learned from Mr Miyagi during world war 2.
