The best Cobra Kai interview I've seen so far. I couldn't stop smiling throughout this video. Keven Smith said everything to the cast that I was thinking myself.
RandomDude what are you talking about? This is talking about William training off screen and earning his actual black belt. This has nothing to do with johnnys students.
This show may be popular now but I predict it will reach greater heights once the two seasons become free on youtube. People will overlook the commercials. What makes the show great is the balance between Nostalgia and the modern complexities of the characters. Great interview!
It's awesome to see a real fan of the 80s such as Kevin Smith to interview the cast of Cobra Kai. His enthusiasm shows and is so heartfelt and genuine. Love these guys!
Kevin Smith articulated perfectly what all of us feel about what Cobra Kai has brought back to so many, the magic of the 80's and Karate Kid........"You're the Best"!
Huck Haeata I’m not big fan of Kevin Smith - but I was delightfully impressed with how well he captured the justifiably off-the-charts enthusiasm for this show. I caught a couple of free episodes and was hooked by the first. And naturally, I binged watched the rest over 2 days. What a ride - I could not get enough. And now I’m screwed, because I lacked the discipline to take it slower. 🙃 So now all I’ve got is bonding with others who feel the same - as we impatiently await the 3rd season. Oh, and nice touch on “You’re the best!” 😀
@@rickmemmer5625 😂✊🏾 a youtuber corrected me ...its "You're the best ...Around" and yes I binge watched as well 🙂🙂🙂🦋✊🏾 the show is so well written by 3 guys that LOVE the 80s and Karate Kid, they really created something special.....still waiting for Season 3 next year sometime 🙄
Yea thats why I hate watching any show while it is still on going. Be having to wait week to week. I like when its all done and the binge watch like 10 seasons over the course of a month
Netflix was slow picking it up. Johnny steals the show with his attitude from the 80s which is so needed in todays society. Miguel reminds me of a young Daniel and he balances Johnny out. Miguel is Johnny's Miyagi.
Yeah i really like his anti-PC attitude and his love for the 80's. It made him funny and entertaining. They kinda watered his character down though in the 2nd season. A bit of a bummer.
It does show Morita's impact in that so much of his influence is shown in flashbacks and through Macchio's performance. You can really see the loss in Macchio's face as Daniel that Miyagi's presence is sorely missed. Like any adult feels when they lose a parent or mentor.
@@TRivera13 -- They should play the song "Can't put your arm around a memory" while Daniel is having a sentimental moment. I know it's a RIP of "the dirt".
Ralph hit it right on the nose “every episode your routing for someone else.” At first I was routing for Sam but now I’m only routing for Miguel and Johnny.🤭
Kevin's affection for the show elevated this interview to my all time favorite. He said everything I feel when watching this show with such clarity. Passion truly makes the difference. I hope they do future interviews with him.
Hell yes! I almost wish the writers/creators could some how work in a cameo scene for Jay and Silent Bob. That would be so epic! LOL Just in passing somewhere on a convenience store corner lot. Kevin Smith is my hero, and to see his reaction and love and respect for this show and these actors is absolutely magical!
This show exceeded all expectations from me. I thought it was gonna be stupid. I was DEAD wrong. Martin Kove’s entrance made me feel like a damn kid again, a grin from ear to ear. Can’t wait for third season
Learn Japanese with N14 -Yes! In my mind and as an 80’s kid, Mr. Miyagi embodied the whole concept of Karate Kid. There is no Karate Kid without Miyagi! Macchio understood that and they did a great job bringing his legacy and honoring his character in Cobra Kai.
Have you see the special feature from Karate Kid? Macchio says how his favourite scene was the one where he puts him to bed and finds out how Miyagi was a war hero. And before the scene ends he bows to Miyagi to show respect to him. Its powerful if you haven't scene it
there were in real life very good friend. And Ralph was also very very displeased when the karate kid the new movie with the son from Will Smith came out... What a garbage of movie, especially it was Kung Fu not Karate.
What a brilliant interviewer and personality Kevin Smith is. We are lucky to have him. I adored Cobra Kai and can’t WAIT for season 3. They HAVE to bring back you know who!!!

Inês Reis me too. Love how they’ve included him in the show though. You so know that Daniel would go to his grave and talk to him. So authentic and right for that character to do that. It did tear me up though. A couple times in the flashbacks, at his grave and when he would talk to him, and when Daniel looks at that picture in the dojo. 😢❤️
Johnny and Daniel reminds me of Goku and Vegeta.. long time rivals and they've had their issues but they find out that they're actually stronger together.
the rising action lead to an obvious injury lol fighting by the railings.. front kicks..the fight scene kinda got drawn out for a while. excited for season 3 nonetheless
You got to find 4 hours, unless you're binge watching both seasons in which you have to find 8 hours, but it is basically a 4 hour movie with plot twists and new misunderstandings reset every 23-25 minutes...
Is it just me or does Ralph's voice actually sound just a little "higher" and softer than when he was younger? Like, I feel like his voice was deeper and more raspy when he was younger than it is now.
i think his voice was much higher when he was young but it was much more raspy as well. now it is more soft and a bit deeper. he sounded more like a boy in the karate kid movies. now at least he sounds like an adult male.
@@lordchold2316 wow. Jane isnt stupid for having an opinion. No need to put someone down for that. I could say the same about you for your opinion but wont because it's not necessary nor is it right for me to degrade someone for their thoughts on a fictional show. Ironically, there are a lot of people who agree that his voice DOES sound different- whether higher, lower, louder, softer, or whatever. But still agreed he definitely sounds different. I feel like it was deeper or at least raspier when he was younger. I also feel like he lost most of his new jersey/new york accent too except when he gets mad - you can hear it again then.
@@crystalkolb3947 no pitch is a concrete thing which is a fact not an opinion. it may have been raspier but it was definitely not deeper. he spoke around my speaking pitch in karate kid(im a female) but now is speaking much deeper in pitch. tbh tho he was yelling a lot more in karate kid. a lot of people thought the actor seemed 12 years old due to his childlike voice in the movie. i agree about the accent though.
The writing is so good and the characters are perfectly depicted with grey area to where it has humanized Johnny's character and I'm now rooting for this guy to win in his life as I have become emotionally invested in the new underdog and of course at the same time I'm excited that Daniel is not a bad guy, there is instead a grey area leaving the audience to depict for themselves who's really good and who is bad. I believe it's just like in real life where there is no black and white there are instead shades of grey area to which everything and no one thing can be judged by any single individual because nobody's perfect. Tips to the writers keep up the great work and may God bless them with more great ideas for their perfectly written stories. This is Nolan dark Knight level writtings where the dialog is so good and the body language is spot on acting is great that there is little to no CGI required just great props and great actors acting

The best Cobra Kai interview I've seen so far. I couldn't stop smiling throughout this video. Keven Smith said everything to the cast that I was thinking myself.
OMG, me too! I had a silly grin on my face the WHOLE time!
I think Johnny is the only character that came up the ranks and earned his black belt.
Yes he is.
macrif None of them HAD black belts. I think Miguel did, but he got reset at the beginning of season 2.
@Mike Knight like candy
@@gowiththeflow363 what belt was Hawk?
RandomDude what are you talking about? This is talking about William training off screen and earning his actual black belt. This has nothing to do with johnnys students.
This show may be popular now but I predict it will reach greater heights once the two seasons become free on youtube. People will overlook the commercials. What makes the show great is the balance between Nostalgia and the modern complexities of the characters. Great interview!
Heck Yeah it will
When is it becoming free?

Awesome awesome
It's awesome to see a real fan of the 80s such as Kevin Smith to interview the cast of Cobra Kai. His enthusiasm shows and is so heartfelt and genuine. Love these guys!
Very beautiful grl!
Interviewer Kevin Smith: bla bla bla
Johnny: QUIET!
He doesn't know how to be quiet
He sounds like Dave Grohl and blabs like him too.
Lol ok is John kreese guy still in character or does he just naturally speak with so much swagger
Martin kove is always cool as fuck
I was wondering the same thing
Lmfao..i literally came here to say that... He back there like a true villain 😆
Exactly what I was thinking haha
His a nice person
Kevin Smith articulated perfectly what all of us feel about what Cobra Kai has brought back to so many, the magic of the 80's and Karate Kid........"You're the Best"!
80s nostalgia is a tiny part of this show’s appeal.

@@jacobbcox1985 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Huck Haeata I’m not big fan of Kevin Smith - but I was delightfully impressed with how well he captured the justifiably off-the-charts enthusiasm for this show. I caught a couple of free episodes and was hooked by the first. And naturally, I binged watched the rest over 2 days. What a ride - I could not get enough. And now I’m screwed, because I lacked the discipline to take it slower. 🙃 So now all I’ve got is bonding with others who feel the same - as we impatiently await the 3rd season.
Oh, and nice touch on “You’re the best!” 😀

Its refreshing to have an interviewer who actually cares. Kudos to Kevin Smith
There are only 2 things that never die. Cobra Kai and Ralph Machio.
😂😂😂
Cobra is such a great show.. The writing is tremendous. *chef's kiss* we need season 3 asap.
Netflix was slow picking it up. Johnny steals the show with his attitude from the 80s which is so needed in todays society. Miguel reminds me of a young Daniel and he balances Johnny out. Miguel is Johnny's Miyagi.
Yeah, he's gold. It's like he's stuck in a time warp. Plays the part fantastically.
It was initially pitched to netflix. They turned it down
Yeah i really like his anti-PC attitude and his love for the 80's. It made him funny and entertaining. They kinda watered his character down though in the 2nd season. A bit of a bummer.
The relationship with Johnny and Miguel is my favourite part.
Black Berry why do people keep saying Johnny steals the show? Its HIS show. And yes. Miguel IS Daniel. Robby is Johnny.
Kevin is a very good interviewer. Includes everyone, gives everyone a chance to speak, keeps to the point. Compared to some interviews I've seen.
Just a shame he spent the first minute and a half talking about himself.
yeah.good dude.lol.i thought i was the real life charlie brown.even had a crazy beagle too
The reference to Liam Neeson’s ol’ fella was pretty funny! 😂
Seriously? He talked for what could have been 3 or 4 more good questions and made it too much about himself.
He is literally the worst interviewer I have ever seen!
Zabka's superpower. - "QUIET!!"
I love this show but badly wish that Pat was still alive. He'd be in his mid 80s but no doubt would nail that role!!
It does show Morita's impact in that so much of his influence is shown in flashbacks and through Macchio's performance. You can really see the loss in Macchio's face as Daniel that Miyagi's presence is sorely missed. Like any adult feels when they lose a parent or mentor.

i really love how Macchio pledges his allegiance to Miyagi. no Miyagi, no Daniel LaRusso. if that's not love, i don't know what is.

Jennifer G. Wilson Long live Daniel larusso and Kurds and R I P to M. Miyagi.
