- This is a tool-assisted speedrun. For more information, see tasvideos.org/1548M

Bart Simpson has discovered that mutants have a machine to enter ingredients which will allow them to conquer the Earth. Bart goes in search of these ingredients to hide them or to take them, avoiding disaster. His adventure will take him across an amusement park, the shopping mall, and the museum, to name a few.
This is a very hard game. Its controls are very poor, and the collision detection is very glitchy, making you fall through platforms to your death.
This movie beats the previous movie ( tasvideos.org/761M ) by 2 minutes and 20.9 seconds. Much of it comes from using a "bunny hop" trick.

Watch this run being played back on a real console ( • [TAS Verified] NES The... ). - เกม
watching this makes me glad i never tried to finish this game. it's a slog.
I still wonder sometimes why the very early simpsons games had this minor key oppressive atmosphere to them. Then I watched season 1 straight through earlier this year and it made more sense.
I love how a lot of old nes platformers have it to where the fastest way to move involves jumping backwards 😂
Getting to the museum level as a kid is probably the biggest achievement of my gaming "career". As bad as this game is, it still holds a special place in my heart.
Its special place for me was the rubbish bin, I absolutely hated the controls. :D Seriously, whoever came up with the idea that the run and the jump button should be one and the same deserved a hard slap.
_Did The Devs Even Do Any Play Testing Before It's Release?_
Every gamer of a certain age had a run-in with Bart vs The Space Mutants. Of the home version of Simpsons games at the time it was among the least bad, but the only good one from that era was the Konami arcade one.

The infamous sound of these games is due to one guy that wrote this terrible sound driver
Thousands and millions of children suffered.
love some early simpsonsmania jank
The movement in this is so goofy I love it
I remember trying to play this game to see what the other levels were like. My god I couldn't get past level 2, the things you have to spray/turn blue is horrendous; not only counting the fact that the run button is the same as jump! It makes every jump a jump of fate.
After getting frustrated with this, I abandoned the game. After a while I decided to try de Genesis version, thinking it would have better controls and graphics. Nope, everything stays the same. What a let down.
TL;DR: This game is slow, couldn't get pass level 2. Tried the Genesis version, but nothing changed.
I beat this game when I was a kid. Probably the greatest game achievement of my life.
Yo tuve este juego en el sega mega drive. Nunca pase de la mitad del primer nivel.
"Eat my shorts"

it's too bad konami or capcom never had the licenses to make simpsons games for the NES. Hmm, at 8:08 or so, is that background recycled from a boy and his blob? the chocolate mountains area. It has some changes but the mountain parts sure look similar; likewise the random "forest" area background at 6:03 seems familiar, too.

i laugh my ass off whenever i hear 8-bit "eat my short"

What is the reason behind playing the balloon game so many times?
They shouldve made the first level the power plant, so Bart can get radiation poisoning, die, and then you don't have to play through the rest of this rancid trashpile. Over 30 years later and I'm still bitter.

cool, man
would be neat to have Lenny and Carl as assistants in the final level, or even Mr. Burns, since the aliens invaded His plant.
the jumping sound is so unpleasant that i couldn't get half way through
It looks like an Atari game
I never pass the second stage, I was like 5 yo lol
This gotta be the worst programmed game I've ever played
Funny thing is these game don't seem to have bugs.
This looks like a bootleg
