- In this video, I try to answer the question of whether the 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage is truly the cheapest new car in America or if it's just a street legal go-cart ??? #review #mitsubishi #mirage #gocart #economy #cheapcar

If you do not like it, then why do a review on it. Owners love them. VERY reliable cars, and they serve a very real purpose. Obviously you do not get it.
1.2ltre 3 cylinder, and a scrappy cvt, nothing reliable about Mitsubishi
Statistics show that it is more reliable than a lot of cars.
the value for money isn't there. Just 4 years ago, you could buy a Mirage brand new for under 15k. Now it's 20k. That's way too big of a price jump!
@@Tragick_Sinyet it proved reliable with the same ratings as the Honda civic and Toyota Corolla. Sorry it’s not some lifted truck or sports car that has a monthly payment more than one could afford. ;)
Nice looking car. Gets you from point A to B.
Thats true.Have a 2017 Modell with 80 PS and Schaltung.Wundetfull Car.
It’s beautiful in yellow.
No one else does yellow.
That alone is awesome.
If you don't like this car, why presented it to you. ?
Since its creation, there has been no recall from the manufacturer. It's still a reliable car.
Many people buy an expensive car to show that they are rich. Me, I want a car to get from point A to point B. Nothing more.
This car is very economical on fuel.
Least safe car on the road. I'd rather be alive and spend a little more on gas.

Better than being on a motorcycle.
And there are a lot of people who ride motorcycles.
It is not up to him to decide what is best for others.
The presenter is a Morron who likes to show off with big cars.
When we talk about a car, we must describe it while remaining neutral.
This car has not been subject to any recalls since its creation in 2014.
Personally, I prefer to have money in the bank rather than having to pay for a luxury car for 5 years.
This video is much fairer, and without fake laughter or mockery.

I totally agree with you!
Literally so many car out there that are better for not much more
@bobroch1107 I grew up driving econoboxes. I was in a serious accident in a 1991 Ford Festiva. The shoulder part of the seat belt snapped. The only thing that kept me in the car was the lap belt. If I had been in a bigger car, I probably wouldn't have needed to be airlifted to the hospital. I don't do motorcycles or small cars regardless of how reliable they are because of my personal experience. They can be great, cheap, and reliable transportation but in an accident, your odds of survival are greatly diminished.
Thanks for the review.
I need to correct you in a few spots. The G4 is about $1,000 more than the hatchback, so the cheapest would be a hatchback, ES.
The LE is not "pretty much the top spec" model. In fact, it's close to the base model. The only difference is the LE has fog lights, and bigger tires.
The SE is the top spec. It has lane keep assist, heated seats, leather seats, leather steering wheel, and overall looks nicer inside.
With a light foot, I have drove my Mitsubishi Mirage 10,000 miles. I filled it up 41 times. And in those 10,000 miles I have averaged 49.9 MPG through all the tanks. That is every type of driving you can think of. City, traffic jams, freeway, country roads. Everything.
On the freeway I cruise at 55, to 60 MPH, and average about 55 MPG doing so. I drive this car about 80 miles per day on the freeway on average.
Also, I need to add, I have daily drove a lot of cars. 2004 Cadillac Deville, 2008 Toyota Prius, 1999 and 2003 Ford F150, 2004 and 2005 Nissan Frontier, 2004 Pontiac Montana, and a 2005 Hyundai Sonata. Plus a lot of newer cars as well, like the Hyundai Santa Cruse, Ford Maverick, Nissan Versa, Kia Rio, Kia Soul, Kia Forte, and out of all of them, I kept going back to the Mirage. It is just this little, fun to drive, fuel saving go cart. It's perfect for me. It puts a smile on my face every day.
I should add, at elevation, the car indeed struggles. I was on Onyx Summit, going slightly up hill ~4% grade, and was at 8,300 feet above sea level. It took 17 seconds to go from 30, to 55 MPH. It wasn't happy. But the MPG up there also went way up. I still can recommend it though. But with 4 people on board, I am not sure if it will keep up.
Beats walking.
😂
With a car note under $300, with a good down payment. You'll never have to worry about the repo man.
You’ll never have to worry about outrunning nobody too 😂😂, these shits slow as hell. I personally couldn’t do it. I need something with at least 150hp minimum. 78hp is some shit from the 60s 😂.
Repo man don't want a Mirage 😂
@@i_am_gohan9232 you're not factoring in the curb weight of the car. The Mirage only weighs 2000 pounds so it needs less power. The 150 HP vehicles you're looking at are a 1000 pounds heavier
@@i_am_gohan9232
People who need a "get me to work"car don't care about that.
@@Have.An.AmicoDay
They repo whatever the bank tells to get.....its a job, not an ego trip.....the bank is assured to get their money back + interest unlike those thousands of Dodge Chargers R/T and Challengers R/T on those bank repossessed lots...... Dodge R/T as in Repoed Tomorrow.
Bottom line, it's a city car. It serves that purpose exceptionally well. The soft suspension soaks up rough city pavement. Its small size allows you to park it anywhere. The turning radius is very tight and allows for U-turns on pretty much any street. The short length makes parallel parking a breeze. It has grown really expensive for what you get though. I bought a new Mirage ES (top spec) in 2014. It cost me $12k and it was totally worth that price at the time. At $20k, no way. To put it into perspective, you can get a base 2024 Chevy Trax for just $1,500 more. It won't have all of the goodies and it won't be as efficient, but it's significantly larger, faster, and safer for not much more money.
Very true in all points
@CoolCars1-jl7rh apparently you didn't read the second half of my comment.
The biggest problem is that everything Chevy or any other American brand makes is complete garbage I've been a mechanic for 20 years I have not been able to recommend a American car for any of that time there electrics are awful the build quality is trash hard to work on suspensions don't last half as long as a jap car no resale value if you don't like the mirage spend a little more and get a honda or toyota
yep you feel exactly the same way I do, it's a decent car that serves it's purpose but it's way overpriced nowadays. 20k for one is ridiculous! I'd much rather get the Trax or the Elantra or the Corolla or Civic or Forte for some more money
@@sachinnair91 100%. It's worth the extra 6 to 12 months of payments to be in something more substantial for the next 10 years like those vehicles you've mentioned.
I saw these only as hatchbacks when I was at the Mitsubishi dealer. My youngest son just got his license this month and he likes sedans. I'll point him at the Mirage G4.
You want your son to be in this soda can ?
Not the whole story, great warranty 10years 100000 mile powertrain. Four star safety.
There is always pros and cons.
73 HP is not very much, but the CVT will do the best to transfer the power to the wheels.
Cost per mile is going to be very affordable , but not exciting I’ll give you that.
VW Beatles and small economy diesel cars are all very slow, so the driver has to step up and plan how to safely merge with the rest of the traffic.
It’s a tough debate, brand new with warranty or second hand fingers crossed!
even if you want brand new with warranty, why not pay a few grand more for a new Elantra or Venue that also has 10 year warranty?
I agree, but sometimes when you are on a budget that won’t budge it’s a tough decision.
I have heard that Hyundai and Kia have been disputing the warranty claims on vehicles close to the warranty maximums.
The motor in the Mirage is almost bulletproof, but it suffers from piston slap and that’s where the rattling comes from.
deplorable snobbish review it is an exceptionnaly reliable car gas saving humble ..not for you mr jmc6000 go buy a truck or a flashy thing..

I requested you to review the 2024 Mirage. Thank you for honoring my request! I felt your review was fair and I'm glad you mentioned the positives too. I agree that it's overpriced for what you get. Just 5 years ago, you could purchase a new Mirage for 10k with dealer discounts. Scotty Kilmer even made a video on should you get a new Mirage for 10k? I would happily pay 10k for a new Mirage, I wouldn't pay 20k
You can pay 14 k for a new Mirage the 18 price is from the SE top model
You'd have to pay me 10k to drive one of these tin cans
@@lieutenantdan8170 is not as bad as you think really this car is very misunderstood sadly
@@czaz00where are you located? Here in Dallas Texas, new base 2024 Mirage ES are going for 18.5k with no discounts and no manufacturer rebates
@@czaz00 14k for a new 2024 Mirage is a shameless lie
That a normal car outside of USA , American just love big stuff and they can afford them, not everyone can afford big cars like American
That start up crank sounds like a car from a 1970s 1980s vehicle.
Lol
just good for city driving.. pretty sketchy at hiway speeds. have the 2014 model with 62k miles on the clock.. still going strong.
I am glad yours is still going strong!
I got a 2024, Mitsubishi Mirage ES. I put about 80 miles of freeway driving on it per day. I often go on 300-500 mile road trips in my free time. And it handles well. Though I am a slow driver. On the freeway I set cruise control to 55, or 60 MPH. The fastest I ever took this car was 75 MPH.
To be fair, 75 MPH is the fastest I drove any car. Even in the V8 I sometimes drive, never went over 75.
Either way, got the Mirage September 27th, 2023, and it has 10,000 miles now. Best car I ever drove in my opinion. It's like a mini-minivan. And a street legal go-cart.
Over every fill up I ever done, I've averaged 49.9 MPG. That includes city, freeway, mountain driving.. Well.. Everything. But I regularly get about 55 MPG on the freeway cruising at 55, to 57 MPH. Rarely go 60. Only go 60 if it feels unsafe to go slower.
used or 25k cars dont get you 10 year warranty and peace of mind
Oh man you should've reviewed the manual version. It is much faster than the automatic CVT transmission and sounds better.. Also depending where you live luxorious interior options do exist for this car.
You can't buy a new Mirage with manual any longer.
Very good economical car. 44 miles per galon in city
there are 2 trims levels higher than the le, very misinformed, very misleading, be and se are higher trims
Your so negative. U crack me up on your comments. Dont do reviews. PLEASE!
This review was by request from one of my subscribers and I am just giving my honest opinion of this vehicle.
Two years ago for another $1,000 you could have had a Maverick.
We ordered a Ford Maverick in 2022. Still haven't got it yet. Instead I got a Mirage. Surprisingly I like the Mirage better than the Mavericks I test drove.
Four doors and a damn sandbox. with a hand grenade engine that probably won't make 100K. No thanks.
@@extralock1045 Nothing surprising about that, small light weight cars are fun to drive and easy to park!
@@scrambler69-xk3kv Well, first of all, hope your engine dies before 100,000 miles, as it's under warranty. But also when you change the oil on time, every 3,750 miles, these will last 300,000+ miles.
@@sachinnair91 Yup!
Put an intake and exhaust on it. Under $20k... You get what you pay for right?
So what would u recommend for a few grand more?
Nissan Versa or Kia Forte
Since the Mirage is severely overpriced at 20k, you can get a lot of new cars for a few grand more like a new Elantra, new Forte, new Jetta, new Sentra, new Versa, new Corolla etc.
how do you really feel about it?
Lol
Too expensive. I can not afford it. The price is doubled. Toooooo expensive!!!
No cheapest is the Nissan Versa & Kia Rio & then Mirage.
Versa is a good Car.
@@rudiblohm4050 5 speed manual is a good not the CVT as they have issues.
I thought the SmartForTwo is the gocart choice!
